What is with Quebec and COVID?

Why are Quebec numbers so high, when it comes to the Coronavirus? Polls show Quebecois are the most optimistic, and have the most faith in their provincial government to handle the pandemic, yet they account for 55% of Canadian cases, with only 22% of the population.

Today, they recorded 711 cases, while even Ontario is starting to level off at around 400. Other provinces have more recovered people vs cases. Quebec has over 13,000 cases, with a little over 1,000 people recovered.

People are pointing fingers at student travel to the US and Caribbean during spring break before the borders closed. A quarter of Canada's total cases are in Montreal, where the spring break out-of-country travel is common.

Well technically that was over a month ago. New cases are still nearly double Ontario, even though Ontario now has almost twice the population of Quebec. One would think case would start going down, just like the rest of Canada.

Yes, it's the exponential growth thing I'm thinking. A bunch of students head south to party, get infected, bring the plague back and take it to school at home. Montreal didn't get big on closing schools till almost mid-March so there was a "second-tier" wave at the end of March and then on.

As of today, there are over 36,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Quebec accounts for 19,319. Which is 53% of cases.

Quebec was also responsible for 55% of the new cases this weekend.

963 cases today, and the number keeps increasing. Get your shit together, Quebec!

So inline with their take of tax dollars.

944 new cases. Way to go, Quebec.

The province still accounts for over 50% of COVID cases, and the number keeps rising!
