I've been looking for easy ways to save energy and came across this cool article on ZDnet. Article.

I was always interested in the new iBeacon technology, but didn't have any idea of what else could be done with it. This company Zuli seems to be doing some really cool stuff with it to adjust my lights and appliances based on what room I'm in. They claim they can detect if a room is unnocupied for a certain period of time, and cut off devices from phantom power when not in use (apparently saving up to 10% on your bill).

Thats when I started trying to think of other ways beacons could be leveraged and thought it'd be cool to hear what other people have come across. I feel like this is just the tip of the ice berg for what iBeacons will do.
