The electric car industry in Ontari-owe will DIE along with its LIE-beral Party supporters! The ONLY REASON auto makers are building electric cars is because of the subsidies! Take away the LIE-beral subsidies and the "industry" such as it is- will BE GONE! In related news |general Motors PLANS TO DELIBERATELY LOSE nine thousand dollars on each electric car it sells in the artificial market California LIE-beral have created by DEMANDING that a portion of each car maker fleet sold rthere MUST be electric! And that lost 9 grand will be made up for in higher prices for gas powered cars!

How can such a plan go wrong? How about NO new car sales in California as people buy in other states and use address changes to get around govt market manipulators? How about people just doing without full documentation- we know- from Durham Region cop numbers that THIRTY FIVE PERCENT of the cars coming off 401 onto Brock St DO NOT HAVE full documentation for one reason or another! that How about people NOT buying new cars and simply buying used ones from private sellers? Anybody who has watched tv show W-5 knows there is a BIG Cdn market for cars that were wrecked in crashes and rebuilt as late model "bargains"! In one case reporters found a PAIR of cars -with front end of one welded to rear end of another! LIE-berals are forcing us all to become cheats and liars- just to survive!

Last week we learned Ontario’s Liberal government wants to eliminate natural gas as a source of home and business heating fuel in Ontario. The ostensible purpose is to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions linked to climate change and it is a key component of a 57-page action plan leaked by the Globe and Mail. The overall strategy is apparently still being debated by Premier Kathleen Wynne and her cabinet with the final version to be released in June.

(What this means is McWynnty is trying to decide just how pissed the public will be at her latest vote buying scam!)

Commenting on the plan, the Toronto Sun’s Lorrie Goldstein wrote: “Among (the initiatives), Wynne will double down on subsidizing electric car sales in a massive expansion of a failed government program that often sees average Ontarians subsidizing the car purchases of millionaires.

(I say a quick glance at the rising number of problems at the Gigafactory-the massive facility being built in Nevada by Tesla Motos speaks volumes about how NOT READY for prime time is the electric car! Nevada citizens have put up 1.3 BILLION dollars for this hugely risky venture and now our premier-The Great Whore who has sold herself, her party and our future to the civil service Hogs wants to TIE us into the Nevada mess! The electric car is currently nothing more than a novelty item for millionaires and neurotic green devotees to play with!)

(Reality is-we Do need to clean the air-but the LIE-beral green scams will not have that effect. The quickest way to clean the air is to balance our govt books-JUST CUT WAY BACK on the gravy being handed out to civil service Hogs who happen to have about the biggest carbon foot prints around. In the 9 months after the 9/11 terror attack-during which time 25 percent of the worlds airline fleet was grounded-there WAS a measurable improvement in world air quality-so LIE-berals are IGNORING a simple and proven method of resolving our environmental problem! Airplanes ARE the dirtiest way to travel-they produce 75-85 percent of ALL pollution related to transportation-this means adding up the pollution of all cars, trucks, ships, planes, trains, buses-you name it-whether it carries goods or passengers, airplane are the major dirt producers!)

“But the centrepiece of Wynne’s reported strategy is eliminating Ontario’s use of natural gas to heat the residential, office and commercial sectors, and to convert them to electrical heating, or solar and geo-thermal, which simply aren’t ready for prime time.”

(Great-our Great Whore wants to double down on a dangerous bet and get us onto geo-thermal madness-another iffy and hugely pricey system that has no real track record and no proven history in a conventional urban setting-CAN such a system even FIT into a modern 40 ft lot without messing up the neighbours property?)

(Who pays if your neighbour digs a 60 ft deep PIT for his geothermal installation and a thunderstorm rolls through and the pit collapses and YOUR house foundation SHIFTS along with the ground in the strip of land between your house and the neighbours? Just how risky is it to dig such deep pits in Ontari-owe when the weather can change so quickly and soften the ground?)

(And who pays if your neighbour digs a geothermal pit and the ground shifts just enough that a water main breaks and floods your house? We all know how easily a change in air temperature can crack aging Toronto water pipes-what about the effect of a carelessly shored up HUGE pit? And with so many houses built so close together just HOW do you get such large digging machines INTO our tiny back yards? The Whore has not considered any of this!)

Ontario’s ever-increasing electricity rates have resulted in the public using less electricity to save money. The government’s problem is that it depends in part on the revenues from electricity consumption to fund the many costly initiatives in its Green Energy Act. Conservation reduces those revenues, meaning electricity rates have to be increased constantly to maintain the revenue stream.

Natural gas is one of the most efficient means of heating. High-efficiency condensing furnaces can convert up to 98% of the fuel’s energy into usable heat.

By contrast, simple cycle gas turbine plants that back up Ontario’s power grid to ensure that electricity flows when the wind isn’t blowing and the sun isn’t shining, have thermal efficiencies around 30-40%, and 28% of Ontario’s power generation capacity comes from such plants.

(I say the situation is even WORSE than that-LIE-berals have set up our electrical grid to GUARANTEE that any and ALL green energy that is produced WILL be purchased-at rates that are nine times higher than regular generation costs. But as green energy is so unreliable in Ontari-owe-we MUST keep natural gas generating plants ready-fully fired up to take over at a moments notice-we are burning huge quantities of natural gas 24/7 just in case the power is needed! It would be environmentally MORE SOUND to SCRAP the green energy initiatives and STOP producing all the concrete and steel needed for the turbines and simply let the natural gas plants do their jobs-they are fully fired and ready anyway so NO extra costs NOR any new carbon emissions! In fact carbon admissions would go DOWN as we cut out the carbon footprint of turbine and solar production facilities! And as the man says-your furnace runs at up to 98 percent efficiency while the gas plants run at 30-40 percent-producing EXPENSIVE steam that we use ONLY when the sun don’t shine and the wind don’t blow! Electric heat is clearly more costly to the environment!)

(Also, to force us to use electricity means dumping those fuel efficient gas furnaces and replacing them with electric units at HUGE cost as no houses out there are currently wired to run a central electric furnace. Most of us could employ electric baseboard heaters easily enough but that is the most INEFFICIENT use of electric heat!)

(Worst of all, Our Whore has sold a portion of OPG and is using this as an excuse to CLOSE OUT public scrutiny of the books-we will NEVER know just how badly LIE-berals are GOUGING US for electricity-its our money and because it WAS a crown corporation it BELONGED to us-but NO LONGER-now its just a HUGE SLUSH FUND for LIE-berals who are DESPERATE to BUY civil service votes at any cost-TO US! LIE-berals have created a grossly costly SCAM that wont clean the air-only our wallets-and they call this theft `virtue`!)

Given that there is no end in sight to increases in Ontario’s electricity rates, forcing Ontarians to switch to more expensive electrical heat from natural gas will put many into energy poverty — where people pay more than 10% of their income just to power their homes — and be a huge drain on our economy.

It would make far more sense to allow Ontarians to continue heating with natural gas, while reducing consumption by retrofitting buildings with better insulation.

(I say LIE-berals have run these retrofitting SCAMS before-and they are USELESS! What good is there in putting new windows into an un-insulated WALL? The heat just leaks out around the windows! And NOBODY will bother with the huge labour costs and upheaval of GUTTING the interior of their home in order to ADD insulation and vapour barriers-this is how we ended up with the `quick fix` urea formaldahyde insulation mess and how we ended up with moisture and condensation problems in older homes when insulation was blown into old wall cavities. Retrofitting is a COSTLY operation that will be quickly scorned by the public living in older homes-once they get a look at the costs! Changing building codes so that new structures are much better sealed is the only real option. It will take a LONG TIME to modernize all Cdn buildings but it will be done eventually.)

(But of course LIE-berals are in a hurry-thanks to supply and demand-force people OFF natural gas and demand will shrink-along with price and LIE-berals can get a better deal on natural gas for their generating stations. Of course the price of electricity will continue to rise due to LIE-berals using electricity costs as a slush fund to enure their civil service Hog allies continue getting the GRAVY they DEMAND in exchange for their LIE-beral support!)

Another initiative in the government’s climate change strategy is to switch the province’s heavy transport vehicle fleet to liquefied natural gas (LNG).

But using LNG risks GHG emissions because natural gas can enter the atmosphere through leakage and as the fuel in the LNG tank warms.

The government’s plan to convert Ontario’s gas-powered automotive fleet to electric looks better on paper.

Since passenger vehicles are typically parked much longer than they are driven, their batteries can theoretically be used to help balance the renewable energy grid — storing electricity when there is a surplus and releasing it when there is a demand.

But this would require smart charging stations at virtually every parking space and a supervisory system to manage every individual vehicle’s charge level.

(And as LIE-berals have previously mentioned-they are considering putting charging stations at LCBO and other govt buildings-how long before `free` electricity is one of the perks of civil service life? After all, LIE-berals are already scheming to ensure their friends get the subsidies they NEED to buy electric cars-how much easier to persuade a Hog to buy such a car if the cost-electricity- to operate it is one of your perks?)

(So selected Hogs can look forward to major car subsidies while ordinary people scrape along with whatever transportation choices LIE-berals MAY DEIGN to make available-after all, how LONG has Ontari-owe govt been talking about a Young St subway relief line? With LIE-beral inspired public transit you too often cannot get there from here in any sensible way! The hundreds of MILLIONS of dollars spent by Metrolinx to STUDY transportation options would have put another subway station or two onto the Sheppard LINE! The whole thing is an endless and shameless SCAM designed to enure LIE-berals get votes!)

If the government’s previous track record on developing software is any indication, this (smart charging and supervisory stations) would likely prove to be another financial disaster.

For the vehicle owner whose commute is within the range of an electric vehicle’s battery, an electric vehicle could potentially be useful.

Batteries are the most expensive component of these vehicles, which is why Tesla is building its own battery factory in Nevada.

However, the supply of minable lithium (the main constituent of electric car batteries) is limited, so demand for massive quantities of this commodity will drive up its cost, in spite of manufacturing economies of scale working to drive it down.

Another strategy related to automobiles is to switch to lower carbon fuels such as E85 (85% ethanol) and biodiesel.

Such policies adopted globally will have an adverse effect on global food production because corn is typically used as the fuel-grade ethanol feedstock.

To grow that much corn, most of our farmland would have to be converted to fuel rather than food production.

This has already had an upward effect on food prices and the process requires more energy in the form of ammonia fertilizer and diesel fuel for the farm equipment than the resulting ethanol saves.

The Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development has said biofuels may offer a cure that is worse than the disease when it comes to GHG emissions.

Perhaps the best way to describe the Wynne government’s climate change strategy is that it is having a massive gas attack at our expense and to our detriment.

A damning report on Ontario’s auto insurance system has found that the province has the lowest number of accidents on its roads but drivers pay the highest premiums in the country.

There are about 60,000 collisions on the provinces roads each year, yet drivers pay $10 billion in insurance premiums annually, concluded David Marshall — the former head of the Workplace Safety Insurance Board — who was appointed by the Liberal government to review the auto insurance system.

(Lowest number of accidents and highest insurance premiums- along with the insurance benefits for people injured in car crashes CUT IN HALF by LIE-berals as a way to save us an alleged fifteen percent! How did these incompetent money managers ever get hold of our wallets? LET me remind you they BOUGHT the votes they needed- USING OUR MONEY- sucking up to civil service Hogs and special interest groups such as Black Lives Matter, corrupt/drugged/alcoholic natives on reserves and Muslims- and ALL are groups with chips on their shoulders and NO concern whatever for what happens to main stream society!)

His report, Fair Benefits Fairly Delivered: A Review of the Auto Insurance System in Ontario, was released quietly by the government this week.

Marshall said that Ontario’s average auto insurance premium in 2015 was $1,458 per vehicle. That premium is 24% higher than Alberta and double premiums in Quebec. It’s almost 55% higher than the Canadian average, excluding Ontario, he says.

Marshall wrote that Ontario has one of the least effective insurance systems in Canada. Most of the money in the system isn’t going to accident victims, who are often not receiving appropriate care, he said.

The system is filled with disputes and inefficiencies, and a very high percentage of premiums are being used to pay experts and lawyers and not going directly to injured persons,” said Marshall.

Progressive Conservative finance critic Vic Fedeli said the report shows the Ontarians are paying too much for car insurance in an “antiquated system” that requires an overhaul.

“We have insurance rates that don’t line up to anybody else in Canada,” he added. “The problem is that it doesn’t put the victim at the centre. It really tries to fit into a mold that takes care of the people who do the handling of the victim.”

Marshall recommended sweeping changes to the system, including setting up an arms-length regulator, adopting a “care-not-cash” approach to treating victims and more transparency in lawyer’s fees.

Marshall’s findings came after the Ontario Liberal government failed to make good on a 2013 promise to slash auto insurance rates by 15%. Rates are down by around 8%, about half their target.

(So we have another Lie-beral promise exposed-we got a FIFTY PERCENT CUT in benefits and only eight percent off costs! What a fine RIP OFF!)

Fedeli also slammed the government for its quiet release of the report, saying, “I don’t think they’re overly proud of it.”

(Oh I think LIE-berals ARE PROUD of what they have done! They have funneled gravy to their friends. They have discouraged people from driving as far or as often by making it too costly. LIE-berals ARE concerned about the environment and they have decided that ONLY THEY and their Hog allies should drive-all the rest of us should shut up and get on the BUS! LIE-berals tell us driving is a privilege but they mean it’s a privilege for ordinary people but its ESSENTIAL for Hogs and LIE-berals. After all, how can they get to fine restaurants, and nice hotels and fund raising parties and to their cottages and seasonal resorts without cars? But WE ordinary types DON’T NEED any of that doe we? LIE-berals have given us THEIR ANSWER!)

NDP deputy leader Jagmeet Singh said for years the province has put insurance industry profits over the needs of Ontarians, including reducing benefits to accident victims. At the same time, they’ve allowed premiums to increase, he said.

Jessica Martin, spokesman for Finance Minister Charles Sousa, said the government posted the report online Tuesday. The province has introduced a series of measures to reduce rates since 2015, but there is more to be done, she said.

(What? MORE to be done? Oh yes- some of us STILL persist in driving and getting in the way of Hogs and LIE-berals going about their business! And some of us crash our vehicles and block roads and LIMIT Hog fun times by delaying them!)

(The dirtiest way to travel is by airplane-they spew out 75 percent of all pollution related to “travel” - which means planes, trains, autos, trucks, buses, ships-anything that carries either passengers or cargo- and planes put out 75 percent of that pollution! So-which is more likely to save our environment: should we let gravy starved Hogs slowly screw us with insurance costs and force us off the road-even though cars are NOT the major environmental problem they once were-and knowing that it is Hogs jaunting about in airplanes that are now the big pollution producer. Or would we be better off to cut back on gravy for hogs and force them out of planes and also persuade them to do as we do-buy smaller houses that are easier to heat, buy smaller cars and use them less often, and persuade them to dump some of the gas guzzling toys they have lined up on their stylish Muskoka docks? And maybe we should be charging environmental fees on some of those HUGE motorboats that are growling up and down the lakes and canals and require A thousand or two thousand liters or more per fill up?)

(On a related theme-LIE-berals whine about the environmental cost of generating electricity so lets BAN those stupid bubble systems that are the rage in Muskoka-the ones that are hooked to an electric powered air compressor and run SIX MONTHS per year to keep water from freezing around precious Hog owned docks and preventing some ice damage. What price the environment when it is Hog convenience under threat? Lets start setting some SENSIBLE priorities for fossil fuel use instead of simply screwing those citizens who are NOT LIE-beral friendly? NDP deputy leader Jagmeet Singh said for years the province has put insurance industry profits over the needs of Ontarians, including reducing benefits to accident victims. At the same time, they’ve allowed premiums to increase, he said.

Jessica Martin, spokesman for Finance Minister Charles Sousa, said the government posted the report online Tuesday. The province has introduced a series of measures to reduce rates since 2015, but there is more to be done, she said.

And maybe we should be charging environmental fees on some of those HUGE motorboats that are growling up and down the lakes and canals and require A thousand or two thousand liters or more per fill up?)

(On a related theme-LIE-berals whine about the environmental cost of generating electricity so lets BAN those stupid bubble systems that are the rage in Muskoka-the ones that are hooked to an electric powered air compressor and run SIX MONTHS per year to keep water from freezing around precious Hog owned docks and preventing some ice damage. What price the environment when it is Hog convenience under threat? Lets start setting some SENSIBLE priorities for fossil fuel use instead of simply screwing those citizens who are NOT LIE-beral friendly? LIE-berals are concerned about the environment in YOUR backyard but NOT in theirs! LIE-berals are so entitled they don’t think their s**t stinks!)

Here's the Biggest Risk With Tesla's Gigafactory. Chris Ciaccia Follow Feb 27, 2014 6:37 PM EST. Updated from 9:10 a.m. to include additional risk in the ninth paragraph.

NEW YORK - Everyone and their brother went nuts yesterday (myself included) when Tesla Motors (TSLA) unveiled plans for the Gigafactory. After a good night's sleep, and some thinking, it might be time to take a step back and say, "wait a minute."

In yesterday's unveiling, Tesla said it expects to reach production unit rates of 500,000 cars per year by 2020 because of the Gigafactory. That's an incredibly fast ramp rate, considering the company expects to deliver 35,000 Model S vehicles this year, up from just over 20,000 in 2013. That 500,000 vehicle number includes the Model S, the Model X (slated for release later this year), and the upcoming Gen III vehicle, which CEO Elon Musk has said will be in the $30,000 to $40,000 range.

(I point out that the Gen III model is the one that our LIE-beral premier is banking on-the model she expects to sell here in Ontari-owe for $25,000 to $30,000 dollars CDN! Since Tesla wants a planned $30,000 to $40,000 U.S. for the car it is CLEAR that LIE-berals will have to supply MASSIVE discounts or KICKBACKS to electric car buyers to bring the cost down to $25,000 Cdn!)

That's very ambitious, and is part of the reason why Morgan Stanley believes Tesla is going to be much more than a car maker, and transform the utilities industry, potentially opening up trillions of dollars worth of opportunities for the company.

(Yeah.....IF Tesla backers don’t get frustrated by red ink and sales flops first and pull the plug on those hoped for opportunities!)

Forget the fact that the Gigafactory is going to be expensive, which is part of the reason why Tesla announced a $1.6 billion convertible debt offering yesterday, as the company continues to grow. All companies need access to capital, and Tesla is no different. The one thing that bothers me is right smack in the company's 10-K filing, which it released yesterday in conjunction with the debt offering and the Gigafactory announcement.

(And yes, the Giga factory WILL be costly-especially for Nevada citizens which have put up 1.3 Billion dollars U.S. in funding-which it will get back ONLY IF Tesla Motors meets or exceeds ALL its market targets and that looks unlikely considering the available information! And Tesla offered up that 1.6 billion convertible debt deal on Feb 27/2014 and now as of March 2016 they have a NEW debt deal of 1.1 billion dollars promised to creditors-without actually having produced that Tesla Gen 3 economy model. Should we ask if there are difficulties trying to make an electric car with the range, cargo capacity, low cost and high safety required of modern vehicles? Have Tesla engineers been spooked by images of Samsung phones bursting into flames during real world usage-with both the phones and Tesla cars powered by the same Lithium battery technology.)

(The following paragraph is somewhat out of date as Tesla HAS begun work on the Gigafactory; though they have ALREADY run into problems with Nevada officials who are complaining that employment levels are not as high as promised. The Tesla model S-the expensive sporty 2 seat model- is being made at the factory and there is design work on the Model X and Gen III being done. In addition there are new concerns regarding pollution from the Gigafactory as the compounds being used are of EXTREME toxicity and Nevada officials apparently were asleep at the switch when pollution concerns were originally discussed! If the larger than expected plume of toxic dust causes trouble for the work force or trouble for the public living down wind of the plant-as has been the case in China with lithium battery production-then look for Tesla to have MUCH greater difficulty reaching production and cost targets! )

"In addition, we have also announced our intent to develop Gen III which we expect to produce at the Tesla Factory after the introduction of Model X. We intend to offer this vehicle at a lower price point and expect to produce it at higher volumes than our Model S. Importantly, we anticipate producing our Gen III vehicle for the mass market and thus we will need a high-volume supply of lithium-ion cells at reasonable prices. While our plan is to attempt to produce lithium-ion cells and finished battery packs for our Gen III vehicles at the new Tesla Gigafactory, our plans for such production are at a very early stage and we have not yet selected a site for the construction of the Tesla Gigafactory nor completed a factory design. In addition, we have no experience in the production of lithium-ion cells, (my emphasis on the `no experience` point) and accordingly we intend to engage partners with significant experience in cell production and to date we have not formalized such partnerships.

(Since this article was originally written, Tesla has partnered with Panasonic and is beginning battery production. This is the shaky car making edifice that our premier McWynnty has tried to tie us to economically. A car maker that has no experience producing electric car batteries, has no actual Gen III car prototype to show us, has no hard cap on costs, and has no hard proof of how this proposed car will perform in the real world! Further, Tesla intends to LEARN how to design, mass produce and sell electric cars as they go along-apparently using public dollars and investments from credulous investors! Tesla has recently taken on Panasonic as a partner for producing its batteries-but Tesla is also currently being QUITE COY about some very embarrassing and sometimes LETHAL fires starting in the batteries of their Model S luxury car! Once the gel in a Tesla battery is exposed to air-as would happen in a very bad crash where the battery case cracks-the stuff automatically starts to BURN at a very high temperature-one that water or conventional chemical foams cannot put out!)

(Tesla officials then go on with another series of caveats and warnings about expecting to much to soon....or at all?)

In addition, the cost of building and operating the Tesla Gigafactory could exceed our current expectations and the Tesla Gigafactory may take longer to bring online than we anticipate. If we are unable to build the Tesla Gigafactory in a timely manner to produce high volumes of quality lithium-ion cells for Gen III at reasonable prices and thus are forced to rely on others to supply us with lithium-ion cells for Gen III, our ability to produce our Gen III vehicles at a price that allows us to sell Gen III profitably could be constrained. Finally, we have very
limited experience allocating our available resources among the design and production of multiple models of vehicles, such as Model S (including any variants we may introduce such as right-hand drive), Model X and Gen III. While we intend each of our production vehicles and their variants to meet a distinct segment of the automotive market, our vehicles may end up competing with each other which may delay sales and associated revenue to future periods. Also, if we fail to accurately anticipate demand for each of our vehicles, this could result in inefficient expenditures and production delays.

(Gosh, consumer demand for this unknown/unproven product might not be high? Who would have thought it given that LIE-berals are planning to ORDER us to BUY electric cars by offering all sorts of costly bribes!)

Furthermore, historically, automobile customers have come to expect new and improved vehicle models to be introduced frequently. In order to meet these expectations, we may in the future be required to introduce on a regular basis new vehicle models as well as enhanced versions of existing vehicle models. As technologies change in the future for automobiles in general and performance electric vehicles specifically, we will be expected to upgrade or adapt our vehicles and introduce new models in order to continue to provide vehicles with the latest technology and meet customer expectations. To date, we have limited experience simultaneously designing, testing, manufacturing, upgrading, adapting and selling our electric vehicles."

(Here is another gem of information-the Gigafactory may NEVER produce a single lithium battery as battery technology is surging ahead so fast that lithium may be obsolete by the time Tesla and its battery partner are ready to make such batteries! As one industry insider noted-comparing lithium batteries to the new batteries that may come online in a few years is like comparing VHS video tape to DVD`s-a TOTALLY NEW SUPPLY CHAIN may be needed to produce the new technology-and Tesla Gigafactory may become obsolete before they finish building it!)

A guy I know bought a hybrid at about the same time I bought my car....Same seating capacity a little bit less trunk space than me...
He traded his car in last month for another hybrid and since the guy keeps accurate data on all expenses same as me... I asked him to compare his data with mine His average fuel consumption was almost exactly as mine But the price of his car was a whole lot more!

Oooph. That’s about the best way to sum up the state of Canada’s economy after a barrage of awful economic reports in recent weeks.

First up was fresh evidence that Canada’s manufacturing sector is struggling, despite all the support it’s received from cheap oil, the low loonie and a strengthening U.S. economy. Factory sales fell in May by 1 per cent, the third monthly drop this year.

After that, we learned Canada suffered the steepest monthly decline in GDP since 2009, as the full impact of the Fort McMurray wildfires caused the economy to shrink by 0.6 per cent in May. As Statistics Canada noted at the time, the majority of the downturn was due to the fires, but not all of it. In fact, in three of the first five months of 2016 that we have data for, Canadian real GDP declined on a monthly basis, even when the beleaguered oil sands are taken out of the picture.

(EVEN WHEN OIL SANDS ARE OUT OF THE PICTURE) The economy is still a mess! And one good reason for our highest ever trade deficit is our LIE-beral mandated `need` to buy oil from socialist Venezuela. Its all very well for our communist airhead prime minister to want to support fellow socialists but he ought NOT to be harming our economy while he does it! The amount of pollution produced in shipping oil from Alberta to New Brunswick is no greater than what is produced by shipping it from Venezuela to New Brunswick. And selling more Alberta oil is good for Canada as a whole!)

Then on Friday we got a double whammy of awful news on the jobs and exports fronts. First, the wallop from Statistics Canada’s labour force survey—the country lost 31,000 in July, a far, far cry from the 10,000 new jobs that were expected to be created. Ontario in particular was hit hard, losing more than 36,000 positions.

Perhaps one of the most troubling aspects of the jobs report, though, was that hourly wage growth has hit a wall, climbing just 1.8 per cent over last year, compared to an annual gain of 3.25 per cent in February. When combined together the drop in employment, slumping wage gains and stagnant growth in hours worked paint a picture of a labour market in distress.

Friday also brought yet more dismal news about trade. Canada’s trade deficit—the gap between the value of the goods it buys from the rest of the world and what it sells—widened to its largest in history. The trade shortfall hit a record $3.6 billion in June—in fact, of Canada’s 10 largest monthly trade deficits of all time, five have occurred this year alone. Worst of all, non-energy exports suffered a fifth straight monthly decline, and fell 3.5 per cent from the year before, the biggest year-over-year decline since 2012.

That’s a lot of scary news for the economy to digest in a short period of time. The worry is this will create a feedback loop, where bad news begets more bad news. As it is, this has already been the weakest recovery for business investment in decades, with the private sector on track for its lowest share of capital construction expenditures in a quarter century. So it’s hard to see businesses opening up their wallets to invest, which is what’s sorely needed in order to reduce the economy’s over-reliance on consumer spending and real estate.

(In recent years, govt has been very SCARED of `deflation`-in which the price of many things simply collapse-once deflation begins, it feeds on itself-why buy that new item this week when it will be on sale even cheaper next month-while the economy stagnates and waits for consumers to open their wallets again-but that will not happen because of how consumers have suffered- hours of work have been cut, wages have stagnated, jobs lost and worst of all-govt Hogs STILL DEMAND their entitlements-which translates into `new revenue tools and ever higher taxes as govt tries to maintain its gross gravy train! Deflation feeds on itself. But the greed of govt and its Hog unions is IMMUNE!)

This is also likely to make the job of Bank of Canada Governor Stephen Poloz a lot more difficult. The recovery in non-energy exports, driven by the weaker loonie and a strengthening U.S. economy, was an important part of his explanation for how Canada would finally move beyond the effects of low oil prices. At the very least, that recovery seems to be on hold, though perhaps continued improvements south of the border—a report on Friday showed the U.S. economy created 255,000 jobs, exceeding expectations of 180,000 new jobs—will boost Canada’s non-resource economy in the coming months. If that doesn’t happen, Poloz may feel he has to cut interest rates again, at the risk of further inflating housing bubbles in Toronto and Vancouver.

(LIE-beral minister Poloz is oblivious to the mauling our industries have taken as a result of high taxes and a high value Cdn dollar. The number of people employed at General Motors in Oshawa a couple of decades back was Twenty Five Times HIGHER than it is now. We now see ominous signs that GM is looking to REMOVE virtually all its production from Ontari-owe-and one job in seven in Ontari-owe is currently related to and supported by the auto industry. There is an over supply of autos in the world and govt bribery can no longer placate GM-we just don’t have the money to give them any more-the combination of high taxes and high Cdn dollar plus a poor quality product has killed GM.)

Before Poloz does that, though, he will want to see if the fiscal stimulus measures revealed in the Trudeau government’s first budget work as promised. Ottawa plans to run a $29-billion deficit in fiscal 2016-17 as it rolls out its stimulus measures, including spending on infrastructure and enhanced child benefits. Last month the first payments under the new Canada Child Benefit went out to households, with some economists predicting it will add 0.1 to 0.2 percentage points to GDP this year due to higher consumer spending. All told, the government forecasted that its budget measures would add 0.5 percentage points to GDP.

(I say Poloz is serving an IMBECILE-that would be Trudope- our LIE-beral prime minister with nice hair for Brains! A thirty billion dollar deficit represents 8-10 percent of our yearly national budget- but it will add only an optimistic 0.1-0.2 percentage points to GDP-for this year-and for each year that we run MORE deficits. The proof is in the Roosevelt deficit financed `new deal` of the 1930`s-as soon as Yankees stopped running deficits the economy fell right back into depression-with the added bonus of a pile of NEW DEBT to tend to!)

(Our stupid Boy will load us up with MORE debt-for a very temporary boost to our economy- at a time when we are struggling with the EXISTING debt! As the U.S. new deal proved-the LIE-beral mandated cure-MASSIVE NEW DEBT- is worse than the economic stagnation disease! Govt spends about 75 percent if all its revenue on salaries and especially PENSIONS for civil service and its those grossly GENEROUS pensions that are killing us-it’s the solid gold.Hog pensions that must be killed off!)

The silent majority holds the power in this land and Hogs and LIE-berals live in TERROR of the day that mass of previously silent voters decides to speak!

It should be common knowledge that the Trudope `plan` to save our economy is nothing more than a much expanded, grossly more costly and no more effective plan than the one implemented by former Ontari-owe NDP premier Bob (BOOB) Rae-he of the infamous Rae days! Rae and his NDP Boobs doubled the Ontari-owe debt in four years and Our Brainless Boy sees no reason not to do the same for the nation!)

In reality, the Trudeau government is only a little over nine months into its first mandate, and less than five months have passed since the Liberals brought down their 2016 budget. For now, at least, the polls suggest Canadians are willing to accept the government’s position that it inherited a slow economy made worse by shocks like the Fort McMurray fires.

Yet a key plank in the Liberals’ election campaign was that Trudeau would bring a more activist government to Ottawa capable of engineering stronger growth through deficit spending—all in contrast to his predecessors low-tax, laissez-faire approach. Never mind that there’s really little that any government can do in the short term to influence the economy.

Whatever the polls say now, there’s a limit to how long Canadians will support the Trudeau government if its big deficits and bold promises don’t at least appear to deliver good news soon.

(There is also a limit to how long civil service Hog will put up with empty LIE-beral promises. Both McWynnty-The Great Whore premier of Ontari-owe and Our stupid Boy were elected on a Hog understanding that they would feed Hogs MORE GRAVY and thus far they are getting LESS! Look for Hog union leaders to try to do a series of very dirty little back room deals with political parties prior to the next set of elections. And there is every reason to believe that Great Whore McWynty will NOT run in the next election-she will fall on her sword for the good of the party and exit the scene so a new LIE-beral will have a chance to deliver a new set of unworkable promises to ever greedy and ever gullible provincial Hogs!
