Cancer Warning For Cancer Patients

CTV.ca | Calif. regulators warn of pot's cancer capability
"SAN FRANCISCO -- It might take Californians a puff or two to get their heads around an apparent contradiction recently enshrined in state law. The same marijuana smoke that doctors can recommend to ease cancer patients' suffering must soon come with a warning saying it causes the disease.

Medical marijuana advocates sought to downplay the significance of the state's decision, arguing researchers have long known that the smoke contains cancer-causing compounds.
"This does not mean in any way that those carcinogens that appear in smoked marijuana, smoked cannabis, have any kind of causal relationship to cancer," said Kris Hermes, spokesperson for Americans for Safe Access, a pro-medical marijuana group.
Regulators disagree. Scientists with the state's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment reviewed 27 studies of the links between marijuana and cancer in humans. Though not all the studies showed a link, regulators found that "marijuana smoke was clearly shown, through scientifically valid testing according to generally accepted principles, to cause cancer," according to an agency statement."

Since when did government employees have any credibility?
Smoking anything but Mullein on a regular basis is harmful. Aboriginal people living in smoke filled dwellings had a very short life span because of constant inhalation. Eating, drinking or inhalation from diffusers or atomizers is the much preferred way to take medical marijuana. People who smoke it do so to get high, not to get cured.

I know quite a few people who have had their cancer in total remission from using pot, including an ex-RCMP. There is a cure for every known disease but the pharmaceuticals don't want us to know because they make their money keeping people sick, alive but sick.

Cancer risk in cancer treatment.... That's like a lot of doctors who won't treat cancer with massive doses of morphine because there is an addiction risk.

Cliffy.... wasn't doubting. Weed does kill the pain and nausea enough to keep food down - and wrestles the "poor me" away long enough for the body to put up a good fight. Cure? Not alone....

True. When treating anything, a wholistic approach is the best and that requires a combination of herbs, vitamins, diet and therapy. Pot is very good for changing the attitude and mindset of "poor me" to a more positive one. This is one of the keys to healing. Another is taking responsibility for causing the illness and the cure. The same "power" is used to cure yourself as you used to make yourself sick. That is one of the basic tenants of wholistic medicine.

Can someone please educate the government on marijuana use? They seem to think that the only way marijuana can be used is by smoking it. Wrong...you can bake it into any food by making THC butter, you can vaporize it, and you can even get it in pill form. So why not just push these alternatives to something they already know works, instead of trying to get it made illegal on all levels again?

And marijuana is not a cure, it is a treatment and it works better at combating nausea and inability to eat better than any pharmaceutical.

If the fact that anti-depressants can cause suicidal tendencies was completely ignored by the media then I fail to see why this is news worthy.

Medications, herbs, even foods, can come with risks.
