But the "point" of your life is what you make of it.

Unless you opt out of any personal responsibility then I guess you at the mercy of whatever you allow to be responsible for your life.

The way I see it is I have to be responsible for myself first before I can be responsible for another life. I'm not going to end up like some others out there who have kids but can't raise them.

I see so many dead beat dads out there who cant provide for their children properly who are then considered being more responsible than me.

I think its dumb that there are men out there who feed their kids mostly hot dogs, deliscio pizzas and alpha getthi who subsequently spend more money than they should on booze or drugs get treated with more respect than someone who knows when they aren't prepared to have kids at the moment...

I love my kids but if I had a second chance I would be more selfish and wouldn't have given in to social pressure.

I'm very fortunate to have a supportive family and I will do the same for them, but if we're going to be selfish for a minute here, I know life would be much easier and there would be an enormous opportunity to make a societal contribution elsewhere.

The point of life is to serve God, and God said to go forth and multiply. So many of you are only getting the half of it. Yes, you've multiplied but have you gone forth?

Looks like someone is having a midlife crisis.

Is life 'easier' without kids? Sure, of course it is.

Whether to have kids or not is a personal decision.

So, infertile people are less worthy? Nice god you have there. Hates celiacs, now hates infertile people.

Exactly.

When I think of all the hardships and struggle that those before me went through for me to exist, it blows my mind.

To snub all that effort is something I see as the most selfish thing a person could do.

God hates celiacs now? It's getting to be a long list.

yeah, the Pope confirmed that gluten-free wafers aren't acceptable.

Oh, celiacs shouldn't have a problem, though, because the communion wafer is literally transubstantiated into the body of Christ. There's gluten in the wafer but once the priest abracadabras it, it's not a wafer anymore.

There you go, that's thinking rationally. I like it.

And if there's no other way for you and all you want to do is be self-indulgent, then you're a waste of food, air, and water, and probably vote for the right, if you bother to vote at all.

I got messed up when you lead with the conjection and at a glace i mis-interpreted what you wrote as two seperate ideas.

Sorry for telling you to F-off and giving you the red.

I hardly ever see a sentence lead with a conjection after a period.

Hey Johnnny...

Don't wait for the perfect time to have kids...you'll end up being too old. I know of what I speak. My girls just turned 13 today, and I'm 51.

It's time, money and energy. Thankfully though, I'm still quite youthful for my age and forever young at heart.

Not having kids is the new, nature took you out of the gene pool.

100 years ago nature took you out by accident or bad health. The more things change the more they stay the same.

My childhood sucked. I dont want a second one whether it be real or done vicariously. Its not that anything particularly bad happened to me growing up, it was nothing plenty of other kids didnt experience, i just disliked it. I spent my whole childhood wanting to grow up, being a child physically was something I disliked. Plenty of my friends wish they could go back to that to avoid bills and responsibilities. Not me, Ill take bills and responsibilities as adulthood also comes with freedom.

Also, even if you hadnt had children it doesnt mean you would have had to be single. There are plenty of childless couples out there.

Having less kids would have been you're contribution to society.

Whether I have kids or not I'm still going to die. Whether or not my genes live on after my death is irrelevant to me - as I'll be dead. If I did reproduce the genes going on would still only be temporarily. Sooner or later those genes will die in future generations as will our species on a long enough time scale.

In the old days you could count on the huge family to take care of the old folks in the golden years.
Then they killed the family and made it about old age pensions.
Now they have killed the pensions.

Oh yeah, government - democide - the biggest killer of all time.
What were we thinking?

Its as close to immortality as anyone's going to get. But be my guess. Take yourself out . More resources for my gene's to continue

Angstrom, would you consider a Don Juan who impregnates women in every part of town as making a great contribution to society?

Yes, society needs kids, and yes, having kids is a great contribution, but so is raising the kids.
