Canada needs to scrap its protectionist policies for cancon, telcos, supply-management, etc. and we need to unilaterally drop tariffs to the world.

If the US insists on a 25% import tariff on Canadian steel, perhaps Canada could oblige by imposing an X.XXUSD/gram and X.XXUSD/watt on Canadian exports to the US, with X.XX slowly increasing over time. We could even consider a 25% export tariff on Canadian steel.
