Dean Cain is keen to revive his Superman-themed television show with co-star Teri Hatcher.
Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman was a hit when it aired for four years until 1997 and actor Dean is hoping for a revival over two decades after the bizarre series conclusion.
“I would love to see that happen because I think we ended on the weirdest note ever, and so we’ve talked about it and I would love to see what they are doing 25 years later, and I’d love to see that situation,” he tells Entertainment Tonight, noting that the show ended with characters Lois and Clark receiving a mystery baby as a gift.
Cain’s co-star Hatcher is onboard with the update and he is just putting the finishing touches to a storyline before shopping the project to producers.
“She agrees that it would be a great idea. I just don’t know if we agree on what should be happening, which is perfect for Lois and Clark,” he shares. “I’ve already started writing little bits and pieces down, so we’ll see if I can convince someone to make six, 10, 12 episodes.”
Meanwhile, three other Supermans will be returning to TV for the upcoming Arrowverse TV event on America’s CW network — Brandon Routh, who played Clark Kent and his alter ego in 2006 film Superman Returns, Supergirl star Tyler Hoechlin, and Smallville’s Tom Welling will all be suiting up as the Man of Steel for the TV special.
