An explosion in a Tim Hortons in downtown Toronto just a little while ago has killed one man. The man was a customer in the washroom. No one is injured. Police, fire fighters, and a bomb squad are on the scene right now trying to figure out what is happened.

That's awful surely nobody would want to bomb a Timmies. My condolences to the family of the deceased.

Well, ya never know Sassy. People firebomb McDonald's and Starbucks because of American "imperialism" after all. Maybe someone's upset about our role in Afghanistan.

Every so often, a nat gas leak will cause an explosion. Perhaps that's what happened.

And RIP.

Toro lets hope it wasn't torrorism. I worked my way through school working at a Tim Hortons and I almost blew the place up. I was working a night shift and the baker asked me to toss him his lighter and I missed and the lighter landed in the hot fryer filled with lard. We had to evacuate and the power and fryer had to be shut down. It was a tense situation and expensive to replace all that lard.

I doubt it.

There seems to be a gas explosion every so often in Toronto. That would be my guess.

Of course, I could go over to a newsite and see, but that'd be too much bother.

By the way, the bomb squad found an explosive parcel inside the Tim Hortons. So it sounds like it might me a terrorist act.

Unconfirmed reports say the man who was killed walked into the washroom with explosives strapped to him. Sounds like he was some sort of suicide bomber.

There are some old warehouses slated for demolition here in Sunny Surrey. I bet it would be cheaper and faster if you could come to town and do it yourself Sass!

Either way an explosion when they expect it to be a bomb, is never very good. Lets hope this was just an isolated incident

I think thats a bit of an insult to Al Bundy myself....why the hell would anyone wanna bomb Tim Horton's?....surely if it's downtown toronto the stock exchange, city or the Province capital would have been a better bet.

but a bleedin Timmo's?...whats the sense?

Well why bomb communiter trains in England and Spain when generally only the worker class really take them and not those who are in charge of policy. I'm still thinking this was an isolated event as Al'qeada plans things out a lot better then this... This is most likely the lone act of a sicko

Why the washroom? Perhaps he wanted to check his rolluptherimtowin results before his 1/100th of a second of fame.

I agree with Finder.....nah this is some loner nutter, the bomb that killed me old mate Rick (god rest the dude) in Aldgate was much bigger and strategically planned for maximum impact, this has none fo those hallmarks

Some idle thoughts.

If it was a bomb it was a little one as it only destroyed the can.
Was the guy inside at the time carrying it? Did it go off prematurely? Did he commit suicide? Was he a suicide bomber getting prepared? Was he an innocent bystander to a time bomb? Did he trip a booby trap? Did someone throw a grenade through the window?

Was it a gas leak? If so was he smoking in the can? How about methane? A coal seam under the floor leaked gas into broken sewer pipes?
Who was the unfortunate customer. A young family man father of four toddlers? A crazed psycho brainwashed by mad Mullahs to cause mayhem?

Until we know the facts it is best not to have random mindless thoughts, as sure as heck they will be wrong.
