Rona Ambrose, Canada's former health minister, joins e-cigarette company Juul's board of directors

In 2014, Ambrose urged Canadians not to use e-cigarettes until more studies were done

Now we know why she didn't want to run for the leadership.

Best of luck with your new business, you hideous POS.

The latest news in the leadership race is that they held a french language debate to showcase the outstanding linguistic skills of the stellar field and Peter McKay's campaign is accused of stealing data from Erin O'Toole's campaign.

So, ordinary conservative politics.

Still have heard nothing further on Bernier's lawsuit against (not even sure who) for hiring Kinsella to call him a racist during the election.

There's hard-ball and then there's bone-head. The Tories tend to go full bone-head.

Hey, beer spiller, I nominate you to be the next prime mistake of Canuckistan. I am pretty sure that you can do a lot better job of trying to put Canukistan on the road to further ruin, eh? And I am pretty dam sure that you will be just as ignorant and rude and ignorant and stupid as the rest of the others before you were. That will never change with you. Those mentioned qualities do come so natural to you, you old drunkard you. He-he.

How dare you talk about such a fine bitch of a politician like her. After all, she did say that she wanted to do only what is best for Canada and Canadians like give us all more government, more taxes, and less freedom. Geez man, stop being so rude towards one of your dear comrade leaders. They all give a fuk about you, mac. Smarten up, will you, fool.

What? Are you hoping and expecting that politics in Canada is going to change for the better anytime soon? Why would anyone want to vote for anyone running for the leadership in the liberal conservative party anyway unless one is a liberal or a pinko conservative.

And it would appear as though just about all of the members of the liberal conservative party are either leftist liberal or are a bunch of red pinko conservative Tories. Whether a liberal or a liberal conservative gets to control this country, Canada will never be able to see it's full potential. When the majority of Canadians keep voting for leftist liberals, red Tories, NDP socialists/communists, and greenies, how can Canada ever expect to see it's full potential and be made great once again.

The PPC party is the only real and true conservative political party left in Canada that can save Canada. But so called conservative dummies like you will never get it and will always stick with just another liberal party that will only continue to wreck and ruin the economy of Canada forever. Wake up you bunch of so called conservative fools and buffoons. Stop trying to wreck and ruin this country. Do something good for Canada for a change. Vote for Maxine Bernier, the other Trump. Works for me.

That’s right, Peter, we did it!

With 269,469 members, we not only broke our own membership record -- we broke the record for largest membership eligible to vote in a leadership in Canadian history.

The huge interest in the 2020 Conservative Leadership Election shows that Canadians are ready to elect a Conservative government.

Quote:

POLICIES
So far during this Leadership race I have announced specific policies and principled positions that would guide my approach to serve as Leader of the Opposition and then as Prime Minister.

I BELIEVE SUCCESSFUL GOVERNMENTS ARE FOUNDED ON FOUR PILLARS:

1. Upholding family as the cornerstone of society.

Parents have the right to raise their children according to their beliefs.

2. Protecting our fundamental freedoms

Freedom of expression, conscience, & religion must be protected.

3. Pursuing compassion towards the vulnerable

Protecting our seniors, veterans, disabled and indigenous peoples.

4. Standing for Fiscal Responsibility

No excessive taxation, or burdening future generations with our debt.

FAIR NOMINATIONS
As Leader, I will ensure that our party upholds fair and democratic nomination processes, so that our members can continue to support the party in good faith.

GRASSROOTS POLICY CONVENTIONS
I want our next Policy Convention to be a meaningful chance for Party members to shape the policy that we will run on in our platform in the next election.

I know that our members have courageous, compassionate policy ideas, full of common sense. As Leader, I want to make sure your ideas are heard, and can form our battle plan to take on Justin Trudeau and the Liberals.

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS
Leadership takes guts and the courage to put Canada ahead of being politically correct. If we can’t even discuss the issues that make us uncomfortable, we’ll never be able to solve them.

I see an increased trend on the political left in Canada to brand anyone who disagrees with them using extremist language intended to silence debate. I am ready to push back against this.

FIREARMS
I will repeal the Liberals new undemocratic firearms ban and will carry out a fulsome review of all other current firearms laws.

I will refocus our resources on stopping weapons smuggling and keeping guns out of the hands of gangs and other criminals.

A safer Canada is one where we use Common sense to make our laws. That’s the kind of firearms approach you can expect from me.

THE ENVIRONMENT
We need courageous leadership on the environment. We can effectively balance environmental stewardship initiatives while developing our resources at a cleaner and greener standard than anywhere else in the world.

Canada still imports millions of barrels of oil from countries with far worse environmental standards. We can and should do better, and we need to use our own oil.

As Prime Minister I will:

Reduce Regulation and create simpler solutions
Eliminate the carbon tax which doesn’t change individual behaviour
Repeal C48 and C69; and replace with legislation that balances real economic growth with sustainable development.
Support funding to address the issue of orphan wells. It’s good for the environment, revitalizes farmland, creates truly “green” jobs and helps get laid off oil and gas workers back to work.
Companies will be encouraged to develop technology that lowers emissions. The goal is to invest in technology that will increase energy efficiency and lower emissions alongside resource development.
Work to decrease the cost of heating in northern and remote regions by prioritizing the development of SMRS (an emerging nuclear technology). As Prime minister, I will allocate research and development funds into this sector.
Encourage green investments and renovations: homeowners and businesses alike want to do their part. Governments should implement generous tax credit options for those who take the time to make their properties more environmentally friendly.
Fund conservationist practices: conserving and restoring our environment doesn’t have to be expensive - simple steps like tree planting and better recycling programs go a long way.
Restrict the dumping of raw sewage into our waterways. This is a reprehensible practise through which the Liberals have shown their hypocrisy by continuing to allow while claiming our party doesn’t care about the environment.

ENERGY
I believe our energy workers and businesses are the best in the world. They have been and continue to be a vital component of our economy, while innovatively leading the world in environmental standards.

The rest of Canada needs to understand the part that our energy sector plays in our national success.

As such I will repeal Bills C-69 and C-48. Revitalizing the resource sector after this COVID-19 crisis should be a priority for any serious government.

I will work to decrease the cost of heating in northern and remote regions by prioritizing the development of SMRS (an emerging nuclear technology). As Prime minister, I will allocate research and development funds into this sector.

I will also Establish a National Strategic Oil Reserve in order to ensure continued access to oil and guard against global shocks and even disruptive events like the illegal rail blockades.

THE ECONOMY
I believe that COVID-19 isn’t the end for Canada, but rather a new beginning of a stronger, more independent and self-sufficient country.

My first steps would include:

Bringing back all manufacturing of essential items including medical equipment. We should never be caught relying on other countries for essentials in a time of crisis.
Repealing Bills C-48 and C-69 to show that Canada is ready to get pipelines built and our energy to new markets.
Invest significantly to remediate orphan wells in Western Canada. The Liberals COVID based program was a nice start but I would institute a long term program that would help get many unemployed oil and gas workers back on their feet while we reinvigorate the energy market.
Helping Canadian families get back on their feet by bringing in income splitting up to $70,000
Encouraging community investment by increasing the Charitable Tax Benefit to 40%.

SUPPORTING FARMERS
As Prime Minister I will take swift and decisive action to strengthen the economic outlook for our farmers and secure our agricultural sector’s position in Canada and on the world stage. I will do this by:

Reforming tax rules to more easily facilitate intergenerational transfers of farms.
Restore the AgriStability program to cover 85% of losses.
Invest in research and development to help the agricultural sector continue to lead the way in environmental standards through reduction/sequestration and adaptation.
Require that Canada’s agricultural sector be treated as an issue of national security in preparation for the next global crisis.
Repeal the Liberal's carbon tax which disproportionately impacts farmers.
I will use my international law experience to strengthen existing trade relationships and open new ones.

NO HIDDEN AGENDA
I am tired of seeing the Liberals use the phrase “hidden agenda” to attack Conservative politicians on things they don’t intend to do.

In the last election this was used successfully on life issues. I want to be upfront on the four specific pro-life policies I would advocate for so we can be clear with Canadians.

My policies focus on helping and protecting vulnerable women and girls:

Ban the misogynistic practice of sex-selective abortion.
Seek measures to protect women from coerced abortions.
Increase support for pregnancy care centres - to make sure that women in a crisis pregnancy have the help they need and deserve.
End funding for international abortions and focusing our foreign aid to promote overall healthcare - a policy that was broadly supported under Stephen Harper’s leadership.
I believe we need to be clear about our position on this issue and I have been very specific about what steps I would take as a leader.

The only way to avoid being accused of having a hidden agenda is by not hiding it!

FREE VOTES ON CONSCIENCE ISSUES
I was disappointed to hear Peter MacKay promise to whip Conservative front-benchers on conscience issues.

This means many members of our outstanding caucus would need to choose between their personal convictions and the chance to serve in a MacKay Cabinet.

I will uphold the proud CPC tradition of allowing free votes on all conscience matters.

CARBON TAX
Heaping debt on future generations is a bad idea. A carbon tax that significantly hurts those without much money, while doing nothing for the environment, should be abolished.

We must protect the environment and ensure we have responsible and clear policies in regards to pollution. But I do not believe that a Carbon Tax that disproportionately impacts the poor, our farmers, and small businesses is the way to do that.

ISRAEL
I believe it is important for Canada to stand with Israel as we stand together for freedom and human rights.

As our friend and democratic ally in the world, I will respect Israel’s democracy by moving our embassy to Jerusalem.

UN
I will cancel Canada’s participation in the UN Global Compact on Migration to start strengthening Canada’s borders and restore integrity to our system.

Canadians alone should make decisions on who comes into our country - not UN bureaucrats.

Any United Nations policy that does not favour the national interests of Canadians I am not in favour of.

INDIGENOUS SUPPORT
We need to improve the outlook for our indigenous communities. This includes not using a one-size-fits-all approach across the country.

From the vital and urgent need to ensure all communities have clean drinking water, to allowing Indigenous communities to partner with energy projects in order to provide them with better jobs.

I want our next Conservative government to forge relationships with Indigenous communities that focus on meaningful results, and not political talking points that achieve nothing but frustration on all sides.

FOREIGN AID
We need to change our foreign aid policies to focus on countries that actually need it. I believe we need to prioritize Canadian humanitarian needs - such as ensuring clean drinking water is available on every First Nations reserve in Canada - above sending funds overseas.

MILITARY
I am thankful for the service of our brave men and women in the Canadian Forces. They deserve our full support, which includes making sure they have the modern equipment they need to do their job.

REVERSING LIBERAL ATTACKS ON FREEDOM
This Liberal government routinely attacks religious freedoms, conscience rights and parental rights.

I will reverse all changes to the Student Summer Jobs program that limit faith-based organizations from applying for funds.

Bill C-8 as it is currently proposed is so broadly written that parents and pastors can potentially be criminalized for offering even basic levels of spiritual guidance and counsel. If it passes without serious amendment it will require a full repeal.

I will also repeal Bill C-16, which attacks free speech, threatening fines and sanctions against people who use incorrect speech. I believe that Canadian laws sufficiently protect against actual abuses and harassment of individuals.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING
The majority of trafficking victims and survivors in Canada come from our most vulnerable populations, including underage girls and indigenous women. Vulnerable Canadians should be a priority.

I have a five point action plan that I will push for as soon as I am Leader of our Party, and implement when we work together and form the next Government.

Re-establish the national action plan to combat human trafficking.
Legislative adoption of the most widely accepted international definition of human trafficking known as the Palermo Protocol.
Strengthen criminal penalties against human traffickers to ensure that those who take advantage of the vulnerable in our society are punished for every single life they harm.
Create a public awareness campaign about the reality of human trafficking in our society.
Commit to keeping in place the Nordic Model to combat sex-trafficking in prostitution

CHINA
We need to fundamentally recalibrate our relations with China.

As Prime Minister of Canada, I will lead such change by crafting policies which set boundaries for China’s activities within Canada, while protecting Canadian interests at home and abroad.

I will build a country that is beholden to no other nation.

As leader, in light of the crisis in which we now find ourselves, I will restructure our trade priorities, international relationships, and define and determine our course forward with the safety and security of Canadians as my number one priority.

LONG TERM CARE HOMES
I vow to lead a wholesale change in the culture towards the elderly, and the sick.

I will review Health Canada’s policy initiatives for long term care facilities and introduce national design standards to make sure that heating ventilation, air conditioning systems and occupancy standards are designed to cut down on the spread of airborne viruses like COVID-19.

I will also introduce measures that will allow law enforcement to crackdown on elder abuse.

EUTHANASIA
I will stop the expansion of new categories for Medically Assisted Death.

And I will work to increase the standard of care for the elderly and palliative patients.

VETERANS
Veterans Affairs is an area where politicians tend to do too much talking and not enough listening. I am very upset that there was not money given to veterans under the COVID-19 economic plan, especially given the higher suicide rates of veterans.

Claims also need to be approved in a timely fashion for treatments. I would have made all claims automatically approved during COVID-19.

On Veterans Affairs reform, the way in which the government determines eligibility needs serious reform. If a veteran has a permanent physical disability, then that person should not have to prove that they still have that disability every year to receive their benefits.
