The judiciary is only enforcing laws that have been seriously weekend over time under the disguise of human rights. Most of the population is in favour of stiffer punishments on numerous criminal areas, and for a more common law system. The shades of grey that have made there way into our legal system, have left judges to become legislative interpreters. And the fact that criminals have more rights it seems than the victims, leaving a majority of the population dissatisfied with the current system.

Steve: just to be clear on this: are Quebec Superior Court judges federal appointees? I don't mean to be skeptical, but I need more information before I give what you say any weight.

Also, why is the word "alleged" in quotes? Everyone charged with any offence, no matter how serious, is an alleged criminal until convicted.
