The latest example of New York City graffiti art is rubbing a lot of people the wrong way.
A new member of the community moved into the Lower East Side on Christmas Eve and critics are finding it very hard to accept.
The five-story monstrosity went up on the side of 303 Broome St. featuring a red and pink…well, you know.
I have never heard so much laughter and seen so many happy faces behind my back when painting as for today doing this wall on Broome Street.

Swedish street artist Carolina Falkholt took credit for the castrated mural on Instagram.
“NO TIME 4 BALL$$,” wrote Falkholt. “I have never heard so much laughter and seen so many happy faces behind my back when painting as for today doing this wall on Broome Street.”
The post followed with hashtags featuring rather risque words.
There's a lot of kids that live in this building and in the neighborhood - it's not good for the kids, they're little.

But not everyone’s enjoying the new view.
Speaking with the New York Post, neighbour Qun Chen’s apartment window looks out onto the erect illustration and he feels like he got the shaft.
“It’s ugly,” Chen told the paper. “There’s a lot of kids that live in this building and in the neighborhood — it’s not good for the kids, they’re little.”

However, apparently not everyone is sore over the public art.
“It’s not offensive — it’s 2017,” another observer told the New York post. “It doesn’t bother me.”
The phallic-fueled controversy is not the artist’s first foray into arguably seedy street art.
Her Instagram page is a veritable vulva flipbook that includes a far more abstract mural that was painted on the side of a school in 2014 igniting a debate about the public placement of her pubic art throughout Europe.
It’s unclear if her latest towering work will be allowed to remain on the New York building or how long it will be able to stay up.
Either way, it was likely not what residents expected to see when looking out their windows on Christmas morning.
