Yeah, I think so, but greatly diminished. Will there be an NDP in 2-3 more election cycles due to the current irrelevance that Singh is making of the NDP though?

They'll be squashed or folded into the Greens. After losing Labour to the Liberals they're running on empty on all accounts.

Sorry, I don't check EVERY thread before posting something .......so a double posting of an item is entirely accidental and hardly a ha ha situation.

But it is, you are just interested in posting, be damned if others have already, and either advocate for or rant against it, rather than join the conversation and add to it with citations.

Winnipeg selected for new Amazon delivery centre

Quote:

A trillion-dollar e-commerce giant has chosen to build and operate a new delivery centre in Winnipeg.

On Monday, the provincial government confirmed Amazon's plans to build a 113,000-square-foot warehouse inside the Inkster Industrial Park, just northeast of Winnipeg's airport.

“Manitoba is a great place to do business and we thank Amazon for its investment and for showing confidence in our economy,” said Manitoba's economic development and training minister, Ralph Eichler.

The delivery station will create hundreds of full and part-time jobs in departments like: parcel sorting, management and third-party delivery services.

The facility will be used by Amazon to receive and sort parcels from other distribution centres.

“We are excited to continue our growth in Canada with our first Manitoba delivery station in Winnipeg,” said Tushar Kumar, Amazon Canada's regional director of logistics.

“This new delivery station will allow us to provide fast and efficient delivery for customers, and provide hundreds of job opportunities for the talented local workforce," Kumar continued.

The building is expected to be open for business in 2021.

That's a fact. Hardest workers I ever saw. I could barely stay ahead of two of them.lol Unlike our homegrown ones that are only useful for a sundial, which on the wet coast is useless much of the year.

And you honestly think this is going to make one iota of difference? You are completely delusional.

The few studies to estimate ocean plastic pollution suggest a handful of Asian countries are disproportionately responsible. A study by the Helmholtz Center for Environmental Research, in Germany, has been cited as saying that most ocean plastic comes from 10 rivers in Asia and Africa.

Another study, by the Jambeck Research Group at the University of Georgia, found that mismanaged plastic waste ó the sort likely to land in oceans ó would barely decrease if Europe and North America cut out all plastic.

Every bit helps. This group is doing some impressive ocean cleanup work in the areas you mention. Better education in those areas along with stricter enforcement is necessary. Ocean life is affected by the plastic dumps. Many of those countries rely on the ocean for fishing / food. Fish have been caught with micro plastic in them.........and that contaminates the food supply. It is a multi pronged issue. Humans have been very irresponsible on so many levels it is heart breaking.

China lodges a complaints when Trudeau laments their use of "coercive diplomacy"

It is a rarity for a Canadian Prime Minister to mention anything bad in regards to China. Our entire trade policy with them has been one of ignoring their horrendous human rights abuses.

It is time Trudeau turned op the heat on China. Certainly pointing out their tendency toward bully diplomacy is a small first step.

Rideau Hall spent over $110,000 on legal fees in response to bullying, harassment claims

Shouldn't she be footing these bills herself? It is about her personal conduct not her mishandling of anything in her GG position

Good news for Winnipeg. Hopefully it doesn't end up standing empty like Maple Leaf Foods once the government subsidies run out. Add Alcoa and Dow Corning to that list. Strangest thing to me is that they didn't tie it in to the huge Winnport transportation hub they spent millions developing.

Very recent news that the Chinese stock exchange had exceeded $10 trillion US dollar valuation and regular Canadians have very limited access to that market. I say it's a fix and the gig is up. Time for tar and feathers.
