Trump's approval rating up as citizens torn on removal

On the floor of the US Senate, in full view of the American people, Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff finished what Russian President Vladimir Putin started.
"The President's misconduct cannot be decided at the ballot box, for we cannot be assured that the vote will be fairly won," Schiff thundered this week, arguing for President Donald Trump's removal.
That comment stopped me in my tracks -and rankled many in the Senate GOP conference - because the conclusion of the US intelligence community was that Russia's interference in the 2016 election was designed "to undermine public faith in the US democratic process," an assessment backed up by the Senate Intelligence Committee.
(AS I have said before - the 19th century Russian revolutionary Bakunin told us that “It was not necessary for the general public to support a Socialist Revolution - it was enough that people NO LONGER TRUSTED their existing institutions and thus became willing to consider alternatives” - that well organized SOCIALISTS would FORCE ONTO a disorganized public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
What could possibly be more fulfilling of Putin's desire to sow discord and mistrust than for a senior member of Congress to stand in the well of the Senate and declare the 2020 election is already illegitimate before a single ballot has been cast?
(LIE-berlas have of course ALREADY DECLARED that the 2016 election was dishonest and illegitimate - because Hitlary did not win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Putin himself couldn't have scripted a better finale for his operation.
There is something revealing -- and chilling -- in Schiff's views on Trump's retrospective and prospective illegitimacy vis-à-vis the Republicans he routinely pillories for supporting the President. Schiff argues that Trump undermines our political institutions, but what could be more undermining to the Office of the Presidency than for his opposition to seemingly never accept the legitimacy of the person who occupies it?
(In a TRULY TELLING piece of madness - when Schiff stated “The presidents guilt cannot be decided at the ballot box, for we cannot be sure the vote will be fairly won”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Despite Schiff's promises, Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report flatly stated that the investigation "did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities." But that has never stopped Schiff from indulging the Democratic myth that the 2016 election was stolen by the Trump campaign conspiring with a foreign government.
(Yes - the BEST LEGAL AND POLICE MINDS in the United States has given a verdict that bigoted LIE-berals choose not to accept - for purely personal reasons - meaning because the verdict does not HELP THEM WIN AN ELECTION!!!!!!!!)
A majority of Republicans did not support Trump in the 2016 primary. In fact, GOP leaders raged and schemed to resist him until the end, but Trump overcame the establishment to win the nomination. Respecting the will of the voters, Republicans, unlike Democrats, ultimately accepted Trump's nomination and then his ascension to the White House.
To them, Trump won fair and square. They may not have liked it, but the system produced a result, and they respected it.
Schiff's reckless statements in the runup to the Mueller report and now this week's impeachment arguments were a continuation of the Democratic emotion to never concede the 2016 election -- and to never acknowledge the legitimacy of a man they detest. Schiff is, in effect, arguing that America's political institutions have already failed and will fail again unless a singular individual is no longer allowed to exist in the system.
(LIE-berals are setting up a STAR CHAMBER to ORDER US TO ACCEPT that which is BEST - FOR LIE-berals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
As Republican Sen. Josh Hawley told Tucker Carlson, if Schiff's argument is that Trump's 2016 election isn't valid -- and 2020 is likely to be no different -- "and therefore you have to protect democracy by overturning elections... it's no wonder that they [Schiff and fellow Democrats] don't actually want to have this trial."
(In other news - the Yankee public is coming to recognize that LIE-berals CANNOT BE TRUSTED to defend the welfare of the nation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Schiff exudes the faithlessness of Democrats who are sure that the basic pillars of American democracy, which have stood like immovable rocks in a stormy world for nearly 250 years, crumbled on the night that Trump was elected and cannot be rebuilt unless he is banished from the public square.
(And LIE-berals KNOW - but do not state their belief that Yankee democracy will remain in danger until they are appointed as overlords and Presidents for life!!!!!!)
One man, they seem to say, is enough to destroy all of the faith in democracy that sprang from the genius of James Madison, Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Hamilton and John Adams.
Schiff's passionate floor speeches essentially suggest that Democrats don't want to toss Trump over the Ukrainian matter, but rather over the larger question of his, whether he was or could ever be legitimately elected.
(LIE-berals DEMAND A PACKAGE of Socialist policies be implemented IMMEDIATELY - including open borders and free entry of any asshat that cares to intrude and demand Yankee charity - without any regard for security checks designed to exclude drug addicts, drug dealers, lunatics, and terrorists!! The peace and safety of the Yankee public IS NOT A LIE-beral priority!!!!!!!!!!!)
If Schiff is right, and this Democrat-only impeachment is overwhelming and righteous, shouldn't he be supremely confident that Trump will lose in a landslide, no matter what levers the President pulls?
(Schiff has already told us the Yankee public is NOT SMART ENOUGH not to be fooled by Trump style policy - thus he thinks Yankee democracy will be best protected by LIE-beral DICTATORSHIP - imposing “proper” candidates on the gullible public!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Americans are being told by a major political party that, effectively, our democracy no longer works. We are on the cusp of an election in which most experts agree that voter turnout will reach historic levels, and yet Democrats would have us believe that, because Trump is a candidate in that election, we may as well cancel it.
"Can you have the least bit of confidence he'll stand up and protect our national interest over his own? You know you can't, which makes him dangerous to this country," Schiff argued.
(And yet LIE-berls HAVE NEVER DISCUSSED what it is that Trump wanted investigated in Ukraine!! In fact LIE-berals are HOSTILE even to Joe Biden appearing as a witness - and we need to ask what he is HIDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
But what's more dangerous? Predicting what Trump may or may not do, or fulfilling Putin's wish to project a belief that American democracy failed four years ago and is guaranteed to fail again? Putin won't need a pittance of Facebook ads this time around; he's got Schiff.
If I were a vicious commentator, I'd now take the leap of labeling Schiff a Russian operative. But that's not true, and we ought to take more care not to label our fellow Americans as such.

Evidence fails to back union demands for smaller class sizes

During the ongoing rotating teacher strikes in Ontario, which could ramp up next week to two days a week, union leaders have pointed to classroom size as a key bone of contention and have repeatedly warned that proposed increases to the number of students per teacher will hurt the quality of education in the province.
Ontarians should treat these claims with a healthy dose of skepticism.
Recent research from Derek Allison, professor emeritus of education at the University of Western Ontario, examines the correlation between class size and student performance across Canada.
(Allison is only the latest in a line of researchers who all came to the same conclusion - one that teachers DON’T want to hear!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Using data from the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA), the gold standard for international student testing, the study compared student test scores in provinces with larger high school class sizes to provinces with smaller classes.
The result?
The study found no support for the claim that smaller Canadian classes necessarily mean improved student outcomes. In fact, during the period analyzed, Ontario had the smallest class sizes in Canada — but lower average scores in reading, science and math than students in Alberta, British Columbia and Quebec.
(Smallest classes AND LOWEST scores?? How could that happen unless - as I have suggested -that LIE-berals are picking such UNSUITABLE IMMIGRANTS- most of whom settle in the GTA - that they are dragging down test scores?????????)
(LIE-berals avoid discussing the performance of certain ethnic groups who believe that we are all “systemic racists” and who often believe that success in school is equal to selling out to whites and who blame their lack of jobs on racists - rather than lack of education!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(LIE-berals also avoid discussing the plight of kids who - in teacher parlance -“bring their problems from home” and are thus unable to learn due to emotional stress! Drug addiction and poverty are great influences that are very capable of bringing child school progress to a DEAD HALT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(Nor do teachers wish to discuss school bullying and lack of discipline!! Class disobedience is now ALMOST TOTALLY UNREGULATED - with kids in lunch rooms and playgrounds getting FAR LESS supervision than was once the case - hence the immense rise in bullying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(And teachers do not wish to admit that they no longer have the capacity to punish - NOT IN ANY WAY - not for ANY MISS-BEHAVIOUR!! That old stand - by - keeping a kid after class will not work as the kid HAS TO BE ON THE BUS - or miss the ride home!! And corporal punishment would start riots and lawsuits!!!!!!!!!)
(Indeed - any teacher who suggested that corporal punishment MIGHT BE USEFUL in some cases -would likely be FIRED!! Yet teachers gripe bitterly about student physical attacks on teachers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Union leaders say they are concerned about class size because they want to ensure students receive an excellent education. And of course, all Ontarians should share this goal.
(The reality is that teachers are focused ONLY on work loads- which they managed to DRAMATICALLY LIGHTEN during the Wynne-bag LIE-beral years!! Teachers consider it an outrage that they are being asked to monitor and mark the papers of two more kids per year - IN SPITE of the MASSIVE INCREASE in the number of teaching assistants in Ontari-owe classes!! Teachers believe their work conditions should move ONLY in one direction - leading always to MORE GRAVY AND LESS WORK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Allison’s research, however, and the experience of provinces such Alberta and B.C., show that it’s not clear larger classes in Ontario would negatively affect student performance.
(No - the attitudes of the kids in a class - plus the level of discipline imposed - plus the kind of cooperation given by parents that will be the determining factors!! If a kid sleeps through math class and teacher asks parents to help drill the kid in multiplication tables in the evening - the kids progress will be affected by parental attitude!! Some parents DEMAND that “teachers do their job” and deal with the kid!! Other parents take an active interest and will drill the kid as necessary to ensure the kid catches up and improves performance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Allison’s Canadian findings are partially explained by recent PISA-based research by Professor John Krieg, of Western Washington University, which examined relationships between increased government spending and student outcomes.
According to Krieg’s research, while increased spending in lower-income countries improved education results, the “bang for the buck” of each extra dollar spent begins to diminish as national wealth increases.
(Yes - the habit of poor countries to spend more money so each kid can have a text book and an actual desk to sit at through the day - instead of sharing will give immediate benefit!! But throwing MORE GRAVY at some Cdn HOGS who are simply running out the clock till they can retire young and rich WILL NOT provide much academic benefit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
By the time a country becomes as rich as Canada — and spends as much on education as we do — additional spending does little to improve student outcomes.
This may come as a surprise to some, but it makes good sense. As Krieg notes, as poorer countries start to spend more money on education, they’re able to invest in basic educational amenities that boost performance.
But once those key amenities are paid for, any extra money tends to have less impact on student performance.
As such, Krieg concluded that in a rich country such as Canada, “purchasing additional educational services is unlikely to contribute significantly to education outcomes.”
This evidence doesn’t resolve all of the issues at the heart of the ongoing labour strife in Ontario. Unions are fighting for higher wages — that’s why they exist — while the Ford government is grappling with harsh budgetary realities.
However, as the struggle unfolds, it’s important to keep the evidence in mind, including recent research that suggests simply pumping more money into government schools — and maintaining a narrow focus on trying to keep class sizes down — may not in fact improve student performance.
