US launched cyber attack on Iranian rockets and missiles – reports
Associated Press

Sun 23 Jun 2019 02.31 BST

Targeted strike on computer-controlled weapons of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard had been planned over weeks

Reports say Donald Trump approved a cyber attack on the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that disabled computer systems controlling rocket and missiles launchers.

The US military launched a cyber-attack on Iranian weapons systems on Thursday, according to sources, as President Donald Trump backed away from plans for a more conventional strike in response to Iran’s downing of a US surveillance drone.

Man's Apple watch proves he lied about anti-Semitic stabbing in West Bloomfield

WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (FOX 2) - Police are crediting technology for helping them solve the case about a man who said he was stabbed in an anti-Semitic attack December 15.

Sean Sammit said he was attacked as he left a synagogue that day in the Jewish community in West Bloomfield. But police say he made up the whole story - and that they found out thanks to the information on his Apple watch.

During questioning, Sammitt’s false story unraveled and he confessed, claiming he was trying to leave his job at the synagogue. More from the Detroit Free Press:

Police said Samitt admitted to making up the attack and said he lost consciousness and accidentally stabbed himself while he was washing dishes at the synagogue. He said he lied about the incident because he was being harassed at work about his medical condition.

The second story also turned out to be fabricated, police said.

Human trafficking is a Jewish operation rather than Muslims have a global empire dedicated just to that 'business'.

https://www.legit.ng/1127555-what-major-human-trafficking-nigeria.html
What is the purpose of human trafficking? girls We have considered what pushes people into human trafficking. What is also important to mention is what spheres call for human trafficking. Why is there a demand for human trafficking in Nigeria? Here are seven main reasons why people are trafficked in Nigeria: Sexual exploitation. This is one of the biggest branches of human trafficking in Nigeria. Women and young girls are either shipped off to other countries or left in the country to work in prostitution, escort or the adults films industry. Labour exploitation. Victims of human trafficking are made to work in abusive or even hazardous working conditions, as nobody would willingly work there. Domestic work. Children from as small as five years old are used for performing various domestic tasks. They usually have no documents, rights or knowledge that would help them escape the situation, so they are forced to work for food and shelter. children Military conscription. Sometimes, especially in times of war or major conflicts, children are forced to fight. An example of this would be the use of child suicide bombers by Boko Haram. Forced marriage. As we have said before, girls and women are often forced into marrying a complete stranger. Parents can either do this because of traditions or for a hefty sum of money. Organ harvesting. This is arguably the most terrifying reason for human trafficking, as the victims usually do not live long enough to tell the tale if they are not rescued in time. Human organs have always been in high demand, which makes human trafficking for organ harvesting a very ‘lucrative opportunity’. Illicit adoption. Often nurses in hospitals tell the mothers that their child was stillborn, when in fact the baby is sold to wealthy adoptive parents (best-case scenario). At the same time, sometimes mothers themselves sell their children. Human trafficking is a serious issue that should not be overlooked. It is the modern day slavery, and we should do everything we can to stop this menace. Protect yourself and your loved ones. As a Rotherham grooming gang survivor, I want people to know about the religious extremism which inspired my abusers

Grooming gangs are not like paedophile rings; instead, they operate almost exactly like terrorist networks, with all the same strategies

The police didn't help me ( iStock )

I’m a Rotherham grooming gang survivor. I call myself a survivor because I’m still alive. I’m part of the UK’s largest ever child sexual abuse investigation.
As a teenager, I was taken to various houses and flats above takeaways in the north of England, to be beaten, tortured and raped over 100 times. I was called a “white slag” and “white c***” as they beat me.
They made it clear that because I was a non-Muslim, and not a virgin, and because I didn’t dress “modestly”, that they believed I deserved to be “punished”. They said I had to “obey” or be beaten.
Fear of being killed, and threats to my parents’ lives, made it impossible for me to escape for about a year. The police didn’t help me.

As I write this, it has been widely reported that a letter has been sent to Muslim groups around the country declaring a national “Punish a Muslim” day; elsewhere, the leaders of Britain First have been found guilty of religiously aggravated harassment.
In mainland Europe, conflict surrounding immigrants and refugees has been fuelled by stories of women being raped by migrants. People have been calling for violent attacks against “any Muslims” and have declared “war on Islam”.
Islamophobic online hate and personal attacks occur every day. In response, anti-fascist groups and the “far left” have carried out their own violent attacks on groups they perceive to comprise “white supremacists” or “Nazis”.
As someone who has experienced life inside a grooming gang, I can tell you with certainty that none of this is likely to make any difference to the behaviours of groomers. Like terrorists, they firmly believe that the crimes they carry out are justified by their religious beliefs.
If anything, rising anti-Muslim hate will probably make groomers stronger in their convictions, and drive ordinary young Muslim men towards fundamentalism, grooming gangs and terrorism. The camaraderie, protection, money, and kudos that these groups offer, makes them a strong pull for anyone. Worryingly, several young men I have spoken to joke that being a gangster and going to jail are their “life goals”.
However big or small the problem of grooming gang crime is, it is big enough to warrant national concern, not only because of the severity of crimes, but because of the degree of terror and threats to life involved. This really does devastate lives, families and communities. We don’t even talk about the non-survivors.
Experts say that grooming gangs are not the same as paedophile rings. It’s something that central Government really needs to understand in order to prevent more grooming gang crime in the future.
In November 2017, the Swedish government held a meeting where they stated that: “Sexual violence is being used as a tactic of terrorism”, and as such, it was recognised as a threat to Sweden’s national security.
The link between terrorism and rape undertaken by Islamist gangs was not being ignored. They called for counter-extremism education. This sounds like a balanced and intelligent governmental response to me.
Rotherham victims 'ignored'
Religious indoctrination is a big part of the process of getting young men involved in grooming gang crime. Religious ideas about purity, virginity, modesty and obedience are taken to the extreme until horrific abuse becomes the norm. It was taught to me as a concept of “othering”.
“Muslim girls are good and pure because they dress modestly, covering down to their ankles and wrists, and covering their crotch area. They stay virgins until marriage. They are our girls.
"White girls and non-Muslim girls are bad because you dress like slags. You show the curves of your bodies (showing the gap between your thighs means you’re asking for it) and therefore you’re immoral. White girls sleep with hundreds of men. You are the other girls. You are worthless and you deserve to be gang-raped.”
This hateful religious hypocrisy strikes people to their very core. But it’s far from unique. My main perpetrator quoted scriptures from the Quran to me as he beat me. However, almost identical scriptures (about the stoning to death of virgins who don’t scream when they are raped) can also be found in the Bible.
The problem isn’t the text itself; it’s how it’s fundamentally interpreted. In fact, there are many cases of Bible quotes being used to justify terrible human injustices, like the enslavement of people from Africa, antisemitism and violence towards LGBT+ people.
All the major world religions, including Hinduism and Buddhism, have also at some time been associated with extreme human rights abuses against men, women and children.
I experienced horrific, religiously sanctioned sexual violence and torture – so I definitely believe that we need to be aware of religious extremism as something potentially harmful, so that we can protect people from it.
But for Tommy Robinson and his followers to focus on an entire religion, based on the cruel interpretations of some scriptures by some people, is unhelpful, to say the least. Many of his religious theories and conjecture are not anything that I can relate to in my real life experiences.
Most grooming gang survivors I know absolutely condemn anti-Islamic hate, and we’re uncomfortable with English Defence League protests. We certainly don’t want random attacks on “all Muslims”. You can’t cure harm with more harm. Free-thinking men from Pakistani Muslim backgrounds, like Nazir Afzal, agree, and many deal with all of this incredibly graciously.
As a Rotherham grooming gang survivor, I am told that both child protection services and the prosecution of offenders is improving in most areas. But frustratingly, prevention hasn’t really begun.
I witnessed the ways young men are groomed to become perpetrators by older grooming gang members. It’s very similar to the tactics used in grooming for terrorism, with love-bombing, emotive language (“brother”, “cuz”, “blud”), and promises of wealth and fame, then humiliation, controlling with guilt and shame, training with weapons, and instilling hate and fear of outsiders.
Always, at the same time, they continue to convince these young men that they must find girls to be gang-raped too.
Grooming gang crime is upheld by religious extremism. Like Sweden, we must officially recognise this, and work to curb extremist preaching, teach religious counter-narratives, give gendered extremism education and deliver quality relationships education, while learning the lessons from Prevent and Channel. We need a careful, considered approach that is respectful of the human rights of everyone.

My FIRST Rebel News video — letting mosques broadcast the call to prayer is WRONG!

You’ve probably seen me as a guest on Ezra Levant’s Rebel News show, but for those of you who don’t know me, my name is Raheel Raza.
I’m Muslim. I’m a woman. And I fight against radical Islam.
I’m also proud to announce that I am now the chairman of the Rebel News Advisory Board, a new group that will advise and assist the Rebel News team on issues pertaining to our individual expertise.
As a new member of the Rebel News team, I’ll be sharing my deep knowledge and opinions on key issues related to Islamist extremism and Jihadism.
For instance, have you heard of the latest on bylaws being amended during the pandemic to suit mosques?
You almost won’t believe what’s happening!
To appease the Canadian Muslim population — and after a monumental push by Islamists — some politicians and administrators have allowed the call to prayer, known as the Azaan, to be publicly broadcast over loudspeakers in Canadian towns and cities.

I think letting mosques blast out their call to prayer is wrong.

For more than two decades, I have been trying to tell my fellow Canadians the difference between the Islamic faith and the wave of Islamism, which is a radical ideology that has swept across the Islamic world with devastating consequences.
If Canadian politicians don’t heed my warnings and understand what the rise of Islamism has done to foreign lands, it will only end up in Canada, too!

I am inclined to AGREE! Radical Islam is PLAIN WRONG!

Even moderate Muslims will insist that Sharia Law is superior to any law made by our Parliament or a Congress!

Muslims tell us Sharia Law is "The Most Perfect System"! Which is clearly BULLSH+T since Muslims blow each other up

MUCH MORE FREQUENTLY than they blow up Westerners!

The Muslim PUSH for the daily call to prayer is simply a WEDGE ISSUE designed to lead to FURTHER CDN govt CONCESSIONS!

As always with shameless vote buying LIE-berals - the DEVIL is in the details!

One issue is VOLUME! It is one thing for a lone man - the Muezzin - to use his own voice for the call to prayer!

It is quite another thing for the Muezzin to USE A HIGH POWERED MEGAPHONE - UP TO FIVE TIMES PER DAY!

There IS one niggling little detail that helps idiot LIE-berals push through this Muslim CRAP and that is CHURCH BELLS!

Christian Churches do have their BELLS! Of course the Churches generally ONLY RING for a BRIEF time on Sunday mornings!

None of that 5 times per day stuff and no immense electrical system bellowing out across most of the city!

Church Bells are MUCH MORE MODEST AND DISCREET than the average Muezzin with a big loud speaker!

Neither LIE-berals NOR Muslims care about such things though!

The TRUTH IS this crap is all about PROMOTING ISLAM and buying LIE-beral votes!

And TO HELL with what ordinary Cdns might want or feel was fair!

This woman is full of it. Islam is jihad and jihad is Islamic. Right from the start, Islam was a dominating religion. Its prophet murdered and tricked many, along with robbing caravans. If the Quran is truly the latest revelation from Allah, it must be heeded. No matter how contradictory, it must be obeyed. I've read enough of their supposedly holy book to know that it contradicts itself and abrogation means that the later "revelations" supersede earlier ones. If these Muslims want to practice their faith, they need to read what their "holy" book says.

Swiss look set to approve ban on facial coverings

ZURICH — A far-right proposal to ban facial coverings in Switzerland was headed toward a narrow victory in a binding referendum on Sunday viewed as a test of attitudes toward Muslims.

Projections for broadcaster SRF, based on partial results, showed the measure passing 52% to 48%, with a two-point margin for error. Final results were due later on Sunday.

The proposal under the Swiss system of direct democracy does not mention Islam directly and also aims to stop violent street protesters from wearing masks, yet local politicians, media and campaigners have dubbed it the burqa ban.

“In Switzerland, our tradition is that you show your face. That is a sign of our basic freedoms,” Walter Wobmann, chairman of the referendum committee and a member of parliament for the Swiss People’s Party, had said before the vote.

He called facial covering “a symbol for this extreme, political Islam which has become increasingly prominent in Europe and which has no place in Switzerland.”

The proposal predates the COVID-19 pandemic – which has required all adults to wear masks in many settings to prevent the spread of infection – and gathered the necessary support in 2017 to trigger a referendum.

The proposal compounded Switzerland’s tense relationship with Islam after citizens voted in 2009 to ban building any new minarets. Two cantons already have local bans on face coverings.

France banned wearing a full face veil in public in 2011 and Denmark, Austria, the Netherlands and Bulgaria have full or partial bans on wearing face coverings in public.

Practically no one in Switzerland wears a burqa and only around 30 women wear the niqab, the University of Lucerne estimates. Muslims make up 5% of the Swiss population of 8.6 million people, most with roots in Turkey, Bosnia and Kosovo.

Swiss Muslims have said right-wing parties were using the vote to demonize them and rally supporters.

Amnesty International has called the face veil ban “a dangerous policy that violates women’s rights, including to freedom of expression and religion.”

The government had said the proposal went too far and recommended voters reject a ban.

Iran releases British-Iranian aid worker from house arrest but court summons looms

DUBAI — Iran has released British-Iranian aid worker Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe from house arrest at the end of her five-year prison sentence, but she has been summoned to court again on another charge, her lawyer said on Sunday.

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said his government would continue to do everything possible to secure her permanent release so she could return to the UK.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a project manager with the Thomson Reuters Foundation, was arrested at a Tehran airport in April 2016 and later convicted of plotting to overthrow the clerical establishment.

Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who served out most of her sentence in Tehran’s Evin prison, was released last March during the coronavirus pandemic and kept under house arrest, but her movements were restricted and she was barred from leaving the country.

On Sunday the authorities removed her ankle tag.

“She was pardoned by Iran’s supreme leader last year, but spent the last year of her term under house arrest with electronic shackles tied to her feet. Now they’re cast off,” her lawyer Hojjat Kermani told an Iranian website. “She has been freed.”

Iran’s judiciary was not immediately available to comment about the release. Her family and the foundation, a charity that operates independently of media firm Thomson Reuters and its news subsidiary Reuters, deny the charge.

Kermani said a hearing for Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s second case has been scheduled on March 14.

“In this case, she is accused of propaganda against the Islamic Republic’s system for participating in a rally in front of the Iranian Embassy in London in 2009 and giving interview to the BBC Persian TV channel at the same time,” Kermani said.

He said he hoped that “this case will be closed at this stage, considering the previous investigation.”

In a tweet, Johnson said he was “pleased to see the removal of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s ankle tag, but her continued confinement remains totally unacceptable.”

The prime minister added, “She must be released permanently so she can return to her family in the UK, and we continue to do all we can to achieve this.”

Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s husband Richard Ratcliffe told Sky News on Sunday she was “pleased” her ankle tag had been removed but said the news was “mixed” from Iran due to the court summons. Ratcliffe did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Antonio Zappulla, CEO of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, said the foundation was “delighted that her jail term was ended” and that she had told him she was “‘ecstatic’ to be able to sit in a cafe and have a coffee.”

“Nazanin must be given her freedom, as was promised.”

British foreign minister Dominic Raab welcomed the removal of the ankle tag but said Iran continued to put Zaghari-Ratcliffe and her family through a “cruel and an intolerable ordeal.”

“We have relayed to the Iranian authorities in the strongest possible terms that her continued confinement is unacceptable,” Raab said in a statement.

Her lawyer told Iranian state TV he had no news on the status of her travel ban.

The detentions of dozens of dual nationals and foreigners have complicated ties between Tehran and several European countries including Germany, France and Britain, all parties to Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with six powers.

The release come as Iran and the United States are trying to revive the deal, which former U.S. President Donald Trump abandoned in 2018, then reimposing sanctions on Iran. Tehran responded by scaling down its compliance.

Girl, 13, admits lying about French teacher beheaded by jihadi

Samuel Paty died for a lie.

The beloved French teacher was beheaded by a wannabe jihadi who was told by a schoolgirl that Paty showed an image of the Prophet Muhammad during a lesson on free speech.

Now, the teen girl has admitted lying about Paty.

Candles are lit at a makeshift memorial as people gather to pay homage to Samuel Paty, the French teacher who was beheaded on the streets of the Paris suburb of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, as part of a national tribute, in Nice, France, October 21, 2020.

Her filthy fib kicked off an online hate campaign targeting the teacher that culminated in his grisly beheading in the street last Oct. 16.

The unnamed girl claimed the teacher asked Muslim students to leave the class before allegedly showing the image from Charlie Hebdo. The problem is, it never happened and the girl wasn’t even in class that day.

“She lied because she felt trapped in a spiral because her classmates had asked her to be a spokesperson,” lawyer Mbeko Tabula said of his 13-year-old client.

With a history of behavioural problems, the girl then got her father to file a complaint.

That triggered the social media rage machine and Paty was inundated with death threats.

Finally, Paty was butchered by an 18-year-old man of Chechen background. His killer was shot dead by cops minutes later.

The girl has now been charged with slander, while her father and an Islamist preacher have been charged with complicity in the killing.

Paty’s family is outraged.

“Everything in the investigation showed very early that she lied,” family lawyer Virginie Le Roy told RTL radio on Tuesday.

“(She was) a spokesperson of what? Of lies, of events that never happened? This explanation does not convince me and makes me rather angry because the facts are serious, they’re tragic.”

The cold-blooded murder occurred in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine and enraged the country.

But the murder of the innocent teacher wasn’t enough to sate the jihadis’ bloodlust. Two weeks later, on Oct. 29, three people were killed in a terrorist attack at a Catholic church in Nice.

JOHANNESBURG — Children as young as 11 are being beheaded in Mozambique, U.K.-based aid group Save the Children said on Tuesday, in violence that has killed thousands and displaced many more in a northern region torn by an Islamist insurgency.

Save the Children said it had spoken to displaced families who described “horrifying scenes” of murder, including mothers whose young sons were killed. In one case, the woman hid, helpless, with her three other children as her 12-year-old was murdered nearby.

“We tried to escape to the woods, but they took my eldest son and beheaded him,” the 28-year-old, who Save the Children called Elsa, is quoted as saying.

“We couldn’t do anything because we would be killed too.”

Another mother, a 29-year-old Save the Children calls Amelia, said her son was just 11 when he was killed by armed men.

Save the Children said it could not specify who carried out the beheading. Reuters could not immediately reach Mozambique police or government spokespeople for comment.

Mozambique’s northernmost province of Cabo Delgado has since 2017 been home to a festering insurgency, linked to Islamic State, that has escalated dramatically in the past year. Beheadings have been a hallmark of their attacks.

Throughout 2020 the insurgents began regularly engaging the military to capture and hold key towns. Brutality also continued, with mass killings including the murder of around 52 people at once in the village of Xitaxi in April.

Altogether almost 2,700 people on all sides have died in the violence, according to the Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project (ACLED), a consultancy that tracks political violence. Almost 670,000 people have been displaced, Save the Children said.

The United States last week declared the Mozambique group a foreign terrorist organization over its links to Islamic State, saying the group reportedly pledged allegiance to it as early as 2018. Islamic State claimed its first attack in Cabo Delgado in June 2019.

The U.S. embassy in Mozambique on Monday said U.S. special forces will train Mozambican marines for two months, with the country also providing medical and communications equipment, to help Mozambique combat the insurgency.

Amnesty International found earlier in March that war crimes were being committed by all sides in the conflict, with government forces also responsible for abuses against civilians – a charge the government has denied.

Chance Briggs, Save the Children’s country director in Mozambique, said reports of attacks on children “sicken us to our core.”

“The violence has to stop and displaced families need to be supported as they find their bearings and recover from trauma,” Briggs continued.

Leaders in London’s Pakistani community are calling for London police to investigate a racially charged incident at a downtown restaurant.

In an online video that has gone viral, a man behind the counter at Bamyan Afghan Cuisine on Richmond Street is seen yelling obscenities during an argument with what appears to be a pair of customers, one of whom is recording the exchange.

After shouting a derogatory ethnic slur, the man behind the counter, wearing a COVID-19 mask, continues, “F— them, I don’t want to serve you guys,” before ordering the apparent customers to “get out.”

A woman who appears to be standing with the person filming the video says: “You called us P—s (an offensive abbreviation of Pakistani)? This is a hate crime.”

Tariq Bhatti, trustee of the London branch of the Pakistani Canadians Association, said the community wants police to take action. Bhatti also sent a letter Tuesday to London Mayor Ed Holder outlining the community’s concerns about the incident.

“We want London police to look at the issue closely and take action against the individual. If this is a chargeable offence, he should be charged,” Bhatti said.

The Pakistani community is angered by the encounter, he said.

“There is a feeling in the community that this is uncalled for. It is a very sensitive issue. There is anger, an issue of what is going on here.”

The owner of the Richmond Row restaurant, Nuriddin Amruddin, said his partner is seen on the video. Amruddin said he’s barred his partner from the business and wants to buy him out.

In addition, the restaurant will offer an apology on social media, said Hadayat Beedar, manager and chef at the restaurant.

“That kind of behaviour is not tolerated here. We will not allow that to happen again. We love our Pakistani brothers, we welcome everybody,” he said.

Amruddin says he’s too upset to sleep or eat, much less work. He openly wept Tuesday as he described receiving death threats over the incident at his restaurant.

Bhatti also stressed the community is not blaming the restaurant, but the individual.

“We have nothing against the business. An individual acted irresponsibly. Action has to be taken against him.”

London police diversity officers were at the restaurant shortly after noon Tuesday, saying it’s clear the owner “regrets the situation.” They urged him to issue an official apology.

“He’s very emotional, he has a heavy heart,” Const. Anthea Fordyce said. “It’s such a difficult situation and (he) seems very sincere.”

London police reached out to support the Pakistani community as well, Fordyce said. “This vile video that has gone viral is upsetting to everybody. It’s an individual act. It’s not two communities not getting along.”

It is the second incident in a month where a London restaurant has been embroiled in a controversy over racism. In February, London Ale House posted a sign over its front door referencing COVID-19 as the “China virus.” It drew heavy criticism on social media and from city officials for the language some suggested incited intolerance toward Asians.

As for the Bamyan incident, London police need a complaint to be filed, in order to launch an investigation, said Const. Sandasha Bough, police spokesperson.

“We are aware of the video, but there have been no reports to police. In order to investigate an incident, we need a complaint,” Bough said.

Bamyan Afghan Cuisine faced a backlash on social media from people who viewed the video.

“This makes me sick,” one person wrote. “We have always loved the food. Not going there anymore.”

Added another: “No place for this in London.”

Another person urged viewers to hold off their final judgment because the video offers no context.

“By no means am I justifying (this) behaviour,” they wrote. “That being said, we also do not know the context of the video.”

According to the restaurant’s website, it is named after a city in Afghanistan whose name means “the place of shining light.” The online description also notes: “To us, it is more than only serving food. This restaurant is our way of sharing Afghan hospitality.”

JAKARTA — Two suicide bombers believed to be members of an Islamist militant group attacked a Catholic church in the Indonesian city of Makassar on Sunday on the first day of the Easter Holy Week, wounding 19 people, police said.

The mass was finishing when the attackers detonated at least one device outside the church. The two suspects were the only fatalities.

Police chief Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the bombers were both believed to belong to the Islamic State-inspired Jamaah Ansharut Daulah (JAD), which is suspected of suicide attacks on churches and a police post that killed at least 30 people in the city of Surabaya in 2018.

Around 20 suspected JAD members were arrested in January. The group is also believed to have been involved in a bomb attack on a Philippine church in 2019 that killed more than 20 people.

“They are part of that group … They carried out the attack with a pressure cooker bomb,” Listyo said.

In an online broadcast, President Joko Widodo condemned “this act of terrorism,” urged people to remain calm, and said the government would make sure they could worship “without fear.”

Police said the suspects had tried to enter the church’s grounds on a motorbike. Security camera footage showed a blast that blew flame, smoke and debris into the middle of the road.

A security source who was not authorized to speak to media said they were a male college student and his female partner.

Makassar, the biggest city on the island of Sulawesi, reflects the religious makeup of Indonesia, which is the world’s largest Muslim-majority country but has a substantial Christian minority, among other religions.

“Whatever the motive is, this act isn’t justified by any religion because it harms not just one person but others, too,” Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas said in a statement.

Pope Francis prayed for the victims of the attack, according to Vatican Media.

Gomar Gultom, head of the Indonesian Council of Churches, described the attack as a “cruel incident” as Christians were celebrating Palm Sunday, and urged people to remain calm and trust the authorities.

Indonesia’s deadliest Islamist militant attack took place on the tourist island of Bali in 2002, when bombers killed 202 people, most of them foreign tourists.

The vandalism is being treated as “a hate incident,” police say.

“This incident was a violation of the sanctity of a prayer space – a place where our Muslim community can take time to pray and reflect,” Chief Nishan Duraiappah said in a statement Thursday.

“We will not tolerate any activity or crime that is rooted in hate or bias,” he said.

Investigators identified a suspect and issued a warrant for the charge of mischief on Thursday.
