With all the cut backs and social attacks on the Military, add in a 1/3 to 1/2 of the military from the West, Ottawa has to question a lot of their loyalty

The Canadian Armed Forces would be quite depleted if it considered provinces with any kind of separatist movement "enemy soldiers." That would pretty much eliminate Alberta, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.
Send the Van Doos to Garrison Edmonton and send the Edmonton Garisson to Valcartier. The Esquimalt fleet can tie up on Wascana lake.

I served with a lot of French Canadians.
