A video posted by U.S. President Donald Trump has been removed from Twitter after a copyright claim by Nickelback’s representatives.
Trump posted the video, which uses the promo for the Canadian band’s 2005 hit Photograph to mock his Democratic presidential rival Joe Biden, on the social media site on Wednesday.
However, the video was blocked due to a copyright claim on Thursday morning. It is not clear if the band asked for its removal themselves, or bosses at the label that released the track, Warner Music subsidiary Roadrunner Records. Representatives of the group did not respond to a request for comment and Nickelback have yet to address the matter on social media.
The video opened with a clip of Biden saying he had never discussed business dealings with his son Hunter, before cutting to Nickelback frontman holding a photograph apparently showing both Bidens with an executive from an Ukrainian gas company. It is based on a popular meme.
Trump is currently facing impeachment proceedings after urging the Ukrainian president to investigate Hunter over his dealings in the country.
America’s leader was previously hit with a takedown notice from Warner Bros chiefs in April over a campaign advert, scored with the soundtrack to the Batman film The Dark Knight Rises.

lol He does seek an awful lot of attention. His parents probably ignored him a lot when he was young and he couldn't find many friends.

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) — Jeff Daniels has found his next challenging role.
The actor is set to star as former FBI director James Comey in a four-hour CBS Studios event miniseries based on Comey’s bestselling book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies and Leadership.
Comey was dismissed from his FBI role in May, 2017, after U.S. President Trump took objection to Comey’s handling of the investigation into Hilary Clinton’s emails. Comey famously learned of his dismissal from TV news reports that played in the background in the middle of his speech to agents at a Los Angeles field office. The series will likely deal with President Trump in some form as Comey’s book, published in April, 2018, discusses his relationship with the President among other issues.
Captain Phillips screenwriter Billy Ray has adapted the book and will be directing the as-yet-untitled series, which is executive produced by Alex Kurtzman, Shane Salerno and Heather Kadin. The drama is slated to being production in November, 2019 with an air date to be announced at a later date. CBS Studios has yet to determine whether the series will air on Showtime, CBS Access or both.
“Jeff is so perfect for this part. Great actor, instant integrity, loads of warmth, intelligence, complexity and gravitas. We talked backstage after I saw him in To Kill a Mockingbird on Broadway, and I knew I was looking at the only person who could play Jim Comey. Lucky for me, he said yes,” said Ray of Daniels’ casting.
The miniseries will be produced by Secret Hideout, The Story Factory and Home Run Productions in association with CBS TTV Studios.

LOS ANGELES – The Prince Estate strongly criticized the Trump campaign for playing “Purple Rain” at a Minneapolis rally in which the president made multiple aggressive and juvenile comments about Democratic leaders, Bruce Springsteen, Beyonce and Jay-Z.
In a statement posted on social media, the Estate wrote, “President Trump played Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’ tonight at a campaign event in Minneapolis despite confirming a year ago that the campaign would not use Prince’s music. The Prince Estate will never give permission to President Trump to use Prince’s songs.”
The use of the song was doubly loaded because Minneapolis was Prince’s residence and home base for his entire life.
Alongside the comment, the Estate posted shared a letter from a campaign attorney, dated almost exactly a year ago, in response to a previous request for it to “refrain from using Prince’s ‘Purple Rain,’ or any other Prince music, in connection with Campaign rallies or other Campaign events.” The letter concludes, “Without admitting liability, and to avoid and future dispute, we write to confirm that the Campaign will not use Prince’s music in connection with its activities going forward.”
The Trump campaign has continued to play music by the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and several other artists since the president began running for office in 2015, despite multiple requests not to do so.
After the campaign played Aerosmith’s “Livin’ on the Edge” at a rally in August of last year, the group’s singer, Steven Tyler, sent a “cease and desist” letter through his attorney Dina LaPolt to the White House accusing the president of willful infringement in broadcasting the song, which was written by Tyler, Joe Perry and Mark Hudson.
Citing the Lanham Act, which prohibits “any false designation or misleading description or representation of fact … likely to cause confusion … as to the affiliation, connection, or association of such person with another person,” Tyler’s attorney contended that playing an Aerosmith song in a public arena gives the false impression that Tyler is endorsing Trump’s presidency.

However, such cases are difficult to prosecute — a campaign can argue for fair use under a blanket license from a performing rights organization — and, clearly, the Trump campaign is not overly concerned about respecting the artists’ wishes.
