"What's more worrisome to me is his obsession over trying to prove he was right and having someone say he was."

It's not about the hurricane. It's not about public safety. It's not about emergency preparedness.

It's all about Trump.

That's the way that narcissists see the World.

p.s. Wait a month or two and he'll be spinning how he saved America from big, bad Dorian with his cutting edge, inciteful action. He may even believe it himself, such is the nature of his psychosis.

Sharpie-gate? Trump shows apparently altered Hurricane Dorian map

President Donald Trump holds a chart showing the original projected track of Hurricane Dorian that appears to have been extended with a black line to include parts of the Florida panhandle and of the state of Alabama during a status report meeting on the hurricane in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, U.S., September 4, 2019. (REUTERS/Jonathan Ernst)
WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump showed a map of Hurricane Dorian’s projected path on Wednesday that appeared to have been altered with a Sharpie pen to include the state of Alabama, which was never in harm’s way.
In a White House video released on Wednesday Trump points to an official weather chart dated Aug. 29 showing the states that could be hit in what the National Hurricane Center calls the “cone of uncertainty.” A curved line had been added to the cone on the chart to show a risk that Dorian could move from Florida to Alabama.
“It was going to hit not only Florida, but Georgia, it could have, it was going towards the Gulf, that was what we, what was originally projected…,” Trump says in the video.
Dorian was never projected to be heading toward the Gulf of Mexico, where Alabama has a coastline.
Trump at the weekend in a tweet had named Alabama as one of the states that could be hit. The National Weather Service denied that in its own tweet 20 minutes later.
“Alabama will NOT see any impacts from #Dorian. We repeat, no impacts from Hurricane #Dorian will be felt across Alabama. The system will remain too far east,” the National Weather Service in Alabama tweeted.
When reporters later asked Trump whether the chart had been drawn on with a Sharpie pen, the president said: “I don’t know; I don’t know.”

Anthony Scaramucci raising PAC money to stop Trump from getting re-elected
Reuters

September 6, 2019 7:24 PM EDT
Anthony Scaramucci, financial investor and short-lived communications director for U.S. President Donald Trump, said on Friday that he was raising money to prevent his former boss from being re-elected.
In an interview with Reuters in Toronto, Scaramucci discussed his past support for the president and the chance of another Republican running a successful campaign to unseat Trump in a primary nominating contest, which he believes is the most likely outcome.
“There’s no question. I’m raising PAC money,” he said, referring to political action committees that help raise funds for candidates. “He’s a very, very bad person, and he needs to be removed.”
Trump’s ex-communications director lasted just 11 days in the job, before he was fired as a result of an expletive-laden on-record conversation with a New Yorker reporter in which Scaramucci lambasted other senior White House staffers.
The past two weeks have seen him engage in a bitter and highly public war of words with his former boss, as the two exchanged insults on Twitter and in media interviews — a war which Scaramucci says is “just getting started. I will cross-sectionally dismantle him.”
He declined to say whether the PAC money would go towards supporting Democrats, insisting that Trump will not be the Republican candidate on the 2020 ballot. Scaramucci said he will show up in person to campaign against Trump’s re-election.
“I’m going to be on the street in swing states talking to suburban women about this person and the danger that this person presents to their children,” Scaramucci said.
His previous support for the president was due to “accepting levels of gaslighting (psychological manipulation) that I should not have been accepting,” he said.
“Think like a patriot. We have to remove him from power,” Scaramucci said, adding that the president had “early stage fascism.”
Trump, for his part, has turned on his former employee, calling Scaramucci a “highly unstable nut job,” a “dope” and “a mental wreck” on Twitter.

U.S. House panel poised to spell out Trump impeachment probe: Source

WASHINGTON — The Democratic-led U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, criticized for an unorthodox impeachment probe of President Donald Trump, is poised to vote next week on a resolution to formalize the investigation, a person familiar with the matter said on Saturday.
The panel has rebranded what was originally an oversight probe of Trump’s presidency as an “impeachment” investigation, with the aim of deciding by the end of the year on whether to recommend articles of impeachment to the full House.
As early as Wednesday, committee members could vote on a measure that would better define the investigation, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The committee’s current impeachment approach has been criticized by Republicans for avoiding a precedent set during impeachment inquiries against former President Richard Nixon and former President Bill Clinton.
In those cases, inquiries were formally authorized by the full House. This time, Democrats have steered clear of a House vote that could prove risky for Democratic freshmen from swing districts where impeachment is unpopular with voters.
PONNURU: Trump should worry about his duties, not a ‘perjury trap’
WARREN: Big decisions for democrats ahead of 2020 election
ROGERS: The quest for collusion is over
For much of the year, House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler has focused on the findings of former Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling in the 2016 presidential election and evidence that Trump sought to impede the probe.
At least 134 House Democrats support an impeachment inquiry, according to a Reuters head count. While that is majority of the party caucus, the number remains well below the 218 votes needed for the House to approve an impeachment resolution.
Since Mueller’s testimony in July, Nadler has broadened the investigation to include allegations that Trump has improperly mixed his business interests with his role as president, dangled pardons to encourage official misconduct and paid money during the 2016 campaign to silence women claiming to have had affairs with him.
Though the new measure is not expected to be introduced until Monday, the source said the resolution would allow staff attorneys to question hearing witnesses, set procedures for closed-door reviews of grand jury material, allow White House counsel to respond in writing to the committee and usher in other changes.
The new procedures could be in place for a Sept. 17 hearing at which Trump’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski is scheduled to testify, along with former Trump White House aides Rob Porter and Rick Dearborn.
It was not clear whether the panel would recommend the new resolution for a full House vote.
A more formal investigation could strengthen separate committee lawsuits seeking federal court orders to access Mueller grand jury material and compel testimony from former White House Counsel Don McGahn.

Chrissy Teigen had a foul-mouthed clap back ready for U.S. President Donald Trump after he called her “John Legend’s filthy mouthed wife” in a tweet on Sunday night.
The POTUS took to Twitter to share a lengthy tirade moaning about how he’s not getting enough credit for passing new criminal justice reform legislation, writing: “When all of the people pushing so hard for Criminal Justice Reform were unable to come even close to getting it done, they came to me as a group and asked for my help. I got it done with a group of Senators & others who would never have gone for it. Obama couldn’t come close. I SIGNED IT INTO LAW, no one else did, & Republicans deserve much credit. But now that it is passed, people that had virtually nothing to do with it are taking the praise.

Chinese woman accused of trespassing at Trump's Florida resort faces trial

FORT LAUDERDALE — A woman charged with bluffing her way into U.S. President Donald Trump’s Florida resort while carrying multiple electronic devices, sparking a probe as to whether the Chinese national posed an intelligence threat, goes on trial this week.
Jury selection begins on Monday for Yujing Zhang’s trial on charges of making false statements to a federal officer and trespassing on restricted property.
Zhang, 33, has made the unusual decision to act as her own lawyer during her trial before U.S. District Judge Roy Altman in Fort Lauderdale.
The Chinese national has spent the past five months in pretrial detention. If convicted, she faces up to six years in a federal prison.
In an incident that raised concerns about security at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida, Zhang was carrying multiple electronic devices when she was arrested in April after bluffing her way onto the property.
After detaining her, investigators found in Zhang’s possession four cellphones, a laptop computer, an external hard drive device and a thumb drive, the Secret Service said in a court filing. Initial examination of the thumb drive determined it contained “malicious malware,” the Secret Service said.
Some U.S. experts say her attempt to enter the club was so clumsy that while she has been linked to the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing, it is hard to believe she was a professional spy.
Zhang came from a modest background and, inspired by Trump’s claims to be a self-made billionaire, strove to climb to a higher status, according to joint reporting by the Miami Herald and the South China Morning Post. She spent lavishly on travel packages to Trump-branded businesses, the newspapers reported.
Her flight from Shanghai to the United States on March 28 was part of a scheme to meet the Trumps.
But the best-laid plans soon fell apart. Zhang told U.S. Secret Service agents she was at Mar-a-Lago to attend a charity event that prosecutors allege she knew was canceled.
After the trove of electronics was found on Zhang, a search of her Palm Beach hotel room reportedly uncovered a device meant to detect hidden cameras and nearly $8,000 in cash.

Arnold Schwarzenegger fears he helped Trump become presidential

Arnold Schwarzenegger Aids Young Wrestler In Fight

Arnold Schwarzenegger fears he helped give Donald Trump the tools to become U.S. President.
The movie star, who served as California’s Governor, is not a fan of the property tycoon-turned-leader, but he accepts he may have inadvertently given Trump advice and guidance on how to become popular.
“I remember that in the old days, when we went to the wrestling matches, the way he admired people with bodies, and the way they would jump around in the ring, and to perform physical stunts and stuff like that,” Arnie tells Men’s Health magazine. “He had great admiration for that.
“He asked me, ‘How do you do that, with the movies? I mean, it’s so believable’. He drilled down to specific questions that fascinated him. It was about how do you sell something like a scene: ‘How do you go and act out a scene so that I get affected emotionally?’ He was fascinated by that. ‘How do you do this when you do interviews – that you penetrate through it and you then are totally believable?’”
Meanwhile, Schwarzenegger is convinced Trump’s greatest failing as President mirrors his own as California’s Governor.
“I always complain about Trump not being able to shift from Trump to President,” he explains. “Well, the reason why I say this is because I saw that with myself, that I was not able to shift from Arnold to Governor. I was still stuck as Arnold. Arnold always gets things done.
“I forced my way in there, then I do it and do it and do it and do it, until it gets done. And I felt the same thing I can do with politics (sic). But I learned quickly that that’s really not the way it works. You got to be able to bring people together. It takes much more time, much more effort, but that’s just the way it is. If you don’t like that, don’t get into politics.”

'NO LONGER NEEDED': Trump fires national security adviser Bolton
Reuters

September 10, 2019
Updated:
September 10, 2019 1:16 PM EDT

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump abruptly fired his national security adviser John Bolton amid disagreements with his hardline aide over how to handle foreign policy challenges such as North Korea, Iran, Afghanistan and Russia.
“I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House. I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration,” Trump tweeted on Tuesday, adding that he would name a replacement next week.
Bolton, a leading foreign policy hawk and Trump’s third national security adviser, was widely known to have pressed the president for a harder line on issues such as North Korea. Bolton, also a chief architect of Trump’s strident stance against Iran, had also advocated a tougher approach on Russia and Afghanistan.
Bolton, who took up the post in April 2018, replacing H.R. McMaster, had sometimes been at odds with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, one of Trump’s main loyalists.
Offering a different version of events than Trump, Bolton tweeted: “I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, “Let’s talk about it tomorrow.”
Trump had sometimes joked about Bolton’s image as a warmonger, reportedly saying in one Oval Office meeting that “John has never seen a war he doesn’t like.”
Trump’s North Korea envoy, Stephen Biegun, is among the names floated as possible successors.
“Biegun much more like Pompeo understands that the president is the president, that he makes the decisions,” said a source close to the White House.
Also considered in the running is Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan, who had been expected to be named U.S. ambassador to Russia.
White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham said “many, many issues” led to Trump’s decision to ask for Bolton’s resignation. She would not elaborate.
Trump would sometimes chide Bolton about his hawkish ways in meetings, introducing him to visiting foreign leaders by saying, “You all know the great John Bolton. He’ll bomb you. He’ll take out your whole country.”
Officials and a source close to Trump said the president had grown weary of his hawkish tendencies and the bureaucratic infighting that he got involved with.
Bolton traveled widely in the role and on his travels, for example, he warned Russia against interfering in U.S. elections and promoting strong ties with Israel.
Bolton had opposed a State Department plan to sign an Afghan peace deal with the Taliban militia, believing the group’s leaders could not be trusted.
Sources familiar with his view said Bolton believed the United States could draw down to 8,600 troops in Afghanistan and maintain a counter-terrorism effort without signing a peace deal with the Taliban.
U.S. officials have said it was Bolton who was responsible for the collapse of a summit in February between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Hanoi by recommending the presentation a list of hardline demands that Kim rejected.
North Korea media in May referred to Bolton as a “war maniac” who “fabricated various provocative policies such as designation of our country as ‘axis of evil’, preemptive strike and regime change.”
Bolton’s departure comes a day after North Korea signaled a new willingness to resume stalled denuclearization talks with the United States, but then conducted the latest in a recent spate of missile launches.
A source familiar with Trump’s viewed said Bolton had ruffled a lot of feathers with other key players in the White House, particularly White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney because “he doesn’t play by the rules.”
“He’s a kind of a rogue operator but that’s kind of how he is,” the source said.

FORT LAUDERDALE — A Chinese national arrested for bluffing her way into U.S. President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Florida resort, sparking concerns she could pose an intelligence threat, was found guilty on Wednesday of lying to a federal officer and trespassing.
The woman, Yujing Zhang, 33, stood blinking rapidly as each of the 12 jurors told U.S. District Judge Roy Altman they agreed with the verdict convicting her on all counts, a decision reached after roughly four hours of deliberation following a two-day trial.
When she is sentenced on Nov. 22, Zhang faces up to a year in prison, a year of supervised release and a $1,000 fine for trespassing. She also faces up to five years in prison, three years of supervised release and a $250,000 fine for lying to a federal agent.
Flanked by two U.S. marshals, Zhang listened to the verdict and to the judge order her remanded to the Federal Bureau of Prisons. She was led out of the Fort Lauderdale courtroom without incident, smiling politely and wearing the same pink shirt and tan pants she has worn since she changed out of her brown jail garb at the start of the trial after a small brouhaha over missing undergarments.
Zhang made international headlines in March when she was arrested carrying multiple electronic devices at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach.
Baffling behavior marked Zhang’s trial in U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale from the start. She insisted on acting as her own lawyer despite Judge Altman’s entreaties.
She also delayed the start of jury selection on Monday by complaining that she did not have the correct underwear she needed for the trial.
The central question of what precisely Zhang was doing at the Trump private property remained unanswered, with prosecutors offering no explanation in court for her motives. Zhang’s actions at the resort sparked concerns that she might have been a spy, though she was charged only with trespassing and making false statements.
Prosecutors focused on trying to prove she used deception to gain unlawful access to private property.
Zhang insisted she was entitled to admission to Mar-a-Lago by way of a contract for which she had paid $20,000 to attend a U.S.-China economic development event at the resort.
“I did nothing wrong,” she told jurors in halting English in her closing argument. “I did not lie.”
Assistant U.S. Attorney Rolando Garcia countered that Zhang had been notified in advance that the event she had planned to attend had been canceled and that she had demanded her money back.
Garcia also detailed how Zhang allegedly hoodwinked U.S. Secret Service agents to get past resort security checkpoints and onto the property, in part by passing herself off as the relative of an actual club member of the same name.
“She knew she wasn’t supposed to be there,” Garcia said.
At the time of her arrest, Zhang had four cellphones, a laptop computer, an external hard drive and a thumb drive later found to contain “malicious malware” in her possession, the Secret Service said in a court filing.
A search of Zhang’s Palm Beach hotel room reportedly uncovered a device meant to detect hidden cameras and nearly $8,000 in cash.
Some U.S. experts say her attempt to enter the club was so clumsy that while she has been linked to the Chinese Communist Party in Beijing, it was hard to believe she was a professional spy.
Speaking in Beijing on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said she had “not heard” anything about Zhang having any connection to the Chinese government.

SPICE UP YOUR LIFE: Sean Spicer responds to 'DWTS' backlash

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) – Former White House press secretary Sean Spicer isn’t letting the controversy surrounding his appearance on “Dancing With the Stars” get to him.
“It’s nothing new,” Spicer told Variety after he made his “DWTS” debut on Monday night.
ABC faced quick backlash following the announcement last month that Spicer had been cast on the show. Even “DWTS” host Tom Bergeron released a statement expressing disappointment that producers politicized the show.
“Look, I’m used to that, you’ve got to zone it out, enjoy yourself. I know who I am and what I believe and I’m comfortable with that,” Spicer said. “I did this to have some fun, enjoy myself and hopefully show what a great opportunity this show is for the country to bring people together, allow you to root for another person regardless of their background. And we’re missing a lot of that right now.”
“And so tonight, you can be for everybody — you can cheer everybody on regardless of what they believe or where they’re from or what they think on a particular policy, that’s good,” he continued.
“And if people in America can look tonight and say for two hours we tuned out everything else that’s going on, relaxed, had fun and laughed at Sean Spicer wearing a lime green shirt, then God bless it.”
Spicer and his professional partner Lindsay Arnold danced a salsa routine to the Spice Girls hit “Spice Up Your Life,” earning a score of 12/30. The judges were diplomatic in their reactions to Spicer’s dancing, praising him for taking the risk of appear on the show.

It’s been two years since Spicer resigned from his six-month stint as White House press secretary.
“I thought it was time to do something fun and for myself and be able to do something different, new, have some fun and enjoy myself in a way that I haven’t before,” Spicer explained.
Spicer insists he isn’t looking to change anyone’s minds about how they may feel about him. “I think my previous jobs have been one-dimensional,” he said. “So if people see something different and say ‘I like this guy’ great. If they still don’t like me, I can sleep well at night.”
For all his critics, Spicer also has his supporters. One example — former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee tweeted in favour of Spicer, writing “Wanna create an emotional meltdown in Hollyweird? Vote for Sean Spicer to win ‘Dancing with the Stars’ tonight and every night he’s on….(he’s) a good guy and a brave sport to go on ‘DWTS.’ Let’s show him some love!”
Thank you @GovMikeHuckabee Really appreciate your support and prayers https://t.co/Qqa9xi3pIM

De Niro goes off on Trump, calling him 'gangster' and 'medically crazy'

Robert De Niro tore into Donald Trump on Sunday, calling the U.S. leader a “gangster” who may be “medically crazy”.
The movie star, a longtime critic of the 45th President, is relieved U.S. politicians have chosen to launch the impeachment process against Trump over his foreign relations, but he’s convinced the businessman-turned-politician will find a way to disrupt the proceedings.
“He’ll say it’s rigged, this or that,” the 76-year-old raged. “This guy has done everything possible, much worse than I ever thought, ever. The day after he was elected I said, ‘Give him a chance. You’ll never know’. He is worse than I ever could have imagined.”
Asked to clarify why he is so opposed to the man, De Niro continued, “I don’t know. I think he’s crazy in a way. Part of him is just crazy. Possibly medically, too, I’m starting to think. When I saw him out in front of the helicopter waiting to go somewhere and talking endlessly and sweating, I said: ‘This guy is not even aware of what he’s (doing). He should at least ask somebody for a handkerchief or something and dry himself off.’
“We are in a moment in our lives, in this country, where this guy is like a gangster,” he added. “He’s come along and he’s said things, done things (and) we say over and over again, ‘This is terrible’… And this just just keeps going on and on without being stopped…. We’ve got to get him out… This guy should not be president. Period.”

What Is Mark Hamill Teasing?

Mark Hamill controversially slammed Ivanka Trump as a “fraud” after she tweeted about her family’s love of Star Wars.
Ivanka, U.S. President Donald Trump’s daughter and adviser, tweeted a photo of herself and husband Jared Kushner with their three kids, expressing their family’s love of the science fiction franchise on Sunday.
“The Force is strong in my family,” she captioned the image, which featured one of her kids in a Stormtrooper costume.
Hamill, who is famed for playing Jedi hero Luke Skywalker in the movies, responded by quoting the tweet, and writing: “You misspelled Fraud. #GoForceYourself.”
The 68-year-old actor has often criticized Ivanka’s father on Twitter, and even backed a campaign to buy the social media website and ban the president from the platform.
His Twitter attack on Ivanka and her family did not go down well with some of his followers, however, with some unhappy he had taken his frustration with the Trumps out on children expressing their love for the films.
“Goddamn, Mr. Hamill. A kid in a Star Wars costume isn’t political. People are allowed to like Star Wars,” one angry fan wrote. “Nice. Picking on a kid. High class.”
Another added: “Not cool Mark! She’s just trying to have a nice Sunday with her family (thumbs down emoji) her kids are there and even dressed up!”
