We keep being told by foreign funded anti-Canada propagandists that Canada isn't doing enough when it comes to the "current climate emergency". I state here and now that's total bullshit.
In 2017 Canada generated 652.3 TWh of electricity. Of that 652.3 TWh, 81% was emissions-free with 60% of the total coming from hydroelectric. The anti-Canada activists on the other hand, are praising the EU for generating 30% of their electricity from renewables. And THESE are the countries that the anti-Canada, sub-intellectual morons want us to emulate?
Well then I guess we better fire up some more coal-fired plants if we want to emulate the EU's emissions from electrical generation.
On top of that, in that same year Canada generated about 3% of the global total while continuing to generate only 1.6% of the global total of emissions. And that 1.6% comes from ALL sources; industrial, agricultural, transportation and the 19% of our electricity that's derived from fossil fuels.
So what exactly is it that we're doing wrong? Germany, the darling of the unreliables pushers, put out more GHG's in 2017 than Canada by almost 200,000 ktons.
We have enviro-morons protesting the idea of an Eastern flow pipeline, a method of oil transport that generates next to zero emissions, preferring instead to have bunker fuel guzzling tankers ply the St. Lawrence with Mid-East oil. So we know Quebec's objection to the pipeline has nothing to do with "the climate".
Of course the next argument the left uses is per capita emissions and admittedly we're right up there. BUT, in 2017 little tiny Luxembourg, right in the heart of ultra proggy land, generated only a half ton less per capita than Canada. Little tiny Iceland was only 4 tons per capita lower than us. At least we have the excuse of being an arctic country AND have a vast area with a small, spread out population.
I think it would be fairer to compare most other countries with individual provinces in the per capita dept.
