Hundreds of criminals connected to the illegal drug trade are freely plying their trades as importers, go-betweens and hitmen in Canada — according to Quebec news outlet TVA Nouvelles — largely because Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government dropped the visa requirement for Mexican travelers.
TVA investigative journalist Felix Seguin spoke to several in-the-know sources who revealed there are 400 criminals who have recently entered Canada to traffic drugs — half of them living in Quebec while the other half are presumed to be mainly operating in the Toronto area.
At least several of the estimated 400 who recently infiltrated the Canadian border are believed to have used fake Mexican passports.
Mexican asylum claims skyrocketed once Trudeau waived the visa, going up from 260 in 2016 to over 3,300 in 2018. The visa requirement was originally put in place by the Harper government in 2009 to curb a spike of asylum claims from Mexico. The policy largely worked, with claims dropping down to double digits in 2013.

Despite immigration and security experts warning of the risks of waiving the Mexican visa back in 2016, the Trudeau government went ahead with the policy change. On Friday the Sun’s Brian Lilley reported the illegal border crossings into Canada increased by 24% last month.
Romualdo Lopez-Herrera, 41, flew to Pearson Airport in April 2018 — known to Mexican authorities as a dangerous member of a drug cartel and suspected sicario (hitman) — and passed security undetected, according to the TVA report.
Lopez-Herrera, whose legal name is Noe Hulloa Sevilla, was arrested by Quebec police for extortion after similarly infiltrating border security. He is a member of the violent gang Los Paisanos, and is now evading authorities.
“It’s very serious that there are people who infiltrate our home, in Quebec City, in Montreal or in Toronto, and that we are not able to find them. Do you think the public can accept that?” Conservative opposition critic for public safety Pierre Paul-Hus told TVA.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale’s office responded by saying government agencies have a robust screening process and work closely with Canada’s Five Eyes partners to detect criminals.

“CBSA prioritizes removal cases and its highest priorities are cases of organized crime, national security, irregular migration, crimes against humanity and criminality,” said Goodale’s office.
Goodale’s office also mentioned how the Trudeau government passed legislation to allow the CBSA to be informed when individuals leave the country, “addressing a key security gap.” No direct response was given for the hundreds of criminals who purportedly infiltrated Canada’s border security and remain in the country.
“As part of the Mexico Visa Lift Initiative framework, CBSA received $29.1 million in additional funding for Liaison Officers in Mexico, screening, increased enforcement and other services.”

The Trudeau government maintains that waiving the Mexican visa requirement was necessary for “rebuilding and strengthening” relations with Mexico in order to boost economic ties.
“In 2017 alone, the increase in business travelers and tourists generated more than $600 million in economic benefits for Canada,” said Goodale’s office.
In order to visit Canada, Mexicans now have to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization, which costs $7 and takes several minutes to fill out.

Did you know that the number of people crossing the border illegally at Roxham Road was up by 24% last month?
Probably not.
The infamous illegal border crossing that links rural New York State with rural Quebec has seen the number of people crossing there fluctuate over the past two and a half years, ever since Justin Trudeau’s infamous #WelcometoCanada tweet.
If you heard about the numbers at all it would likely be a Canadian Press story that didn’t get much pick up.
It said the number of people crossing was down.
The sole story on the issue last week noted that just 3,944 people had crossed at the “irregular crossing” in the first four months of 2019.
“That’s a 48-per-cent decline compared to the more than 7,600 irregular border crossers intercepted between January and April 2018,” CP stated.
That’s true, but the number is also almost double the number of people that crossed illegally in the first four months of 2017 and a 24% increase in April compared to March’s numbers.

In fact, in each of the first four months of this year there have been significantly more people crossing illegally than we saw in 2017, the year with the highest number of illegal crossers.
But leave it to Canada’s mainstream media, they find ways to downplay these numbers at every turn.
They have been doing it since the problem first began in 2017, spurred on by Trudeau’s tweet.
They do it now as we deal with human smugglers and “immigration consultants” that sell packages to get you to Canada.
Think about this — we had 40 people a day crossing illegally into Canada at one illegal border crossing.
These aren’t people fleeing war and persecution, they are people looking for a better life.
I get that. My family moved to Canada for better economic opportunities in the 1960s, my parents wanted the chance to make it on their own without having to deal with religious bigotry.
But the people crossing at Roxham Rd. are coming into Canada from the United States of America.
This isn’t a third world country dealing with war and persecution, we are talking about a country that is still one of the freest in the world.
Supporters of the virtually-open border policy that Justin Trudeau has adopted since Jan. 2017 will claim that the people coming across at Roxham Rd. are fleeing the policies of Donald Trump.
It’s not true.
Read the reports, look at the data.
Most are coming into Canada through the United States, but they haven’t been living there.
They come from Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan or other countries, they land at JFK airport and immediately head to the border to make an asylum claim in Canada.
Due to a loophole in the Safe Third Country agreement with the US that says the deal doesn’t apply at unofficial border crossings, we can’t turn these people back.
The Trudeau Liberals are pretending that they are acting to solve this issue by saying they will turn back those that have made asylum claims in the United States but that won’t solve anything.
The vast majority of people coming in at Roxham Rd. never make, nor intend to make a claim in the States.
They are simply travelling through the US to take advantage of the loophole that says we must accept them if they cross illegally.
Trudeau spoke about the benefits of immigration at a tech conference earlier this week.
The benefits are many, including economic.
But to keep the public onside with high immigration levels, they have to believe the system is working and is fair.
What has been happening for the last few years is anything but fair and needs to stop, but we can’t count on Trudeau to fix the mess he created.

FREDERICTON — More than 100 faculty members at the University of New Brunswick have signed a letter denouncing one of their colleagues for promoting what they say are racist arguments about immigration.
Ricardo Duchesne, a professor in the department of social science at the university’s Saint John campus since 1995, is no stranger to complaints about his controversial views, but now the university has decided to investigate.
The letter signed by his colleagues says Duchesne’s arguments about multiculturalism and immigration are “racist and without academic merit.”
It says it is “a hallmark of academic freedom” to challenge the views of fellow faculty. “Racism in the university causes real harm and undermines the rights of students and colleagues to a working and learning environment free from discrimination,” the faculty members wrote.
Duchesne says he’s just doing his job as an academic.
“I want to have my own voice,” he said in an interview. “I believe that’s what Canada is about, to allow debate and freedom of expression.”
UNB president Eddy Campbell said last week the university is reviewing allegations concerning one of its faculty members and will take the time necessary to complete a review.
Petra Hauf, vice-president of the Saint John campus, issued a news release this week to say there is a zero tolerance for racism and discrimination of any kind.
“I want to assure all members of our community that we are aware of the concerns that have been publicly shared with respect to these issues; that we are taking them seriously and are actively looking into them,” she wrote.
While neither statement names the faculty member in question, Duchesne said he expects a meeting with the university administration soon. The tenured professor said he has no intention of resigning.
“I haven’t done anything wrong, really,” he said. “I’m not racist or supremacist.”
Duchesne, who is originally from Puerto Rico, said he believes the controversy is being generated by his 2017 book Canada in Decay: Mass Immigration, Diversity, and the Ethnocide of Euro-Canadians.
“I am a strong critic of immigration,” he said in an interview. “I believe that Canada and all western nations have been set for full diversification through mass immigration, and I’m trying to understand why. Who came up with this idea that all white nations must become racially diverse, whereas that’s not happening in Japan, Korea, China, Mexico — only in white nations?”
He called it “a fundamental question” and said his job as an academic is “to ask tough questions and do the research.” He called for a drastic reduction in the number of immigrants accepted by Canada and spoke of the need to “conserve our heritage and culture.”
UNB law professor, Nicole O’Byrne, who signed the letter, said it was important for the faculty members to join their voices together.
“It is clear that my colleagues have no tolerance for the dissemination of hate speech under the guise of academic freedom,” she said. “We strongly urge the administration to take appropriate action to address this situation as soon as possible.”
On Wednesday, the Canadian Historical Association, also wrote a letter condemning Duchesne’s views.
“The CHA shares our colleagues concerns that important principles of academic freedom are being used to justify indefensible ideas and their dissemination, and join them in challenging Duchesne’s ideas,” wrote the association’s president, University of Manitoba history professor Adele Perry.
Aside from his books, Duchesne has also drawn fire for comments critical of Muslims published on a blog he created called the Council of European Canadians. “What globalists abhor are whites who affirm their national identities and call for limits to immigration,” he wrote on the blog in March.
Duchesne said he believes other faculty members are trying to drive him out of the university.
“They don’t like the fact that I’m not playing the role of being a good immigrant who follows and says what the white privileged academics want me to say,” he said.
