Gasoline is simply not a reliable commodity.

The price is not stable.

It's priced in USD. It's the CAD that isn't stable and it's devalued on behalf of Ontario.

We all pay 27% more on behalf of Ontario.

Ah YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

An excellent point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Canadian dollar has been about the same level for a year or two.

Gasoline.has gone up 40 cents a liter in that time.

Bullshit.

It's droppped almost 5 pts in the past year.

21 May 2018 00:00 UTC - 21 May 2019 20:52 UTC
CAD/USD close:0.74610 low:0.72707 high:0.78267

2 years ago the price of oil was cheaper, price of labour was cheaper and now carbon taxes.

Not happy? Go electric.

What dropped almost 5 points in the past year?

Is that the dollar you are talking about dropping "points".

We generally call those "cents"

I posted the stats. Did the number confuse you as much as words do?

"We" (smart folks) call them pts.

×correction× It was 3.6 pt dive. Then factor in the 1.9pt rise in inflation it equates to 5.5pts combined.

A 0.5pt jump in inflation is nasty.

You posted the stats to prove what?

The dollar is down 5 "points" in two years?

That doesn't quite cover the increase.

Nor does the carbon tax - we got that on in 2008.

Nor does the price of oil since the last time oil was over $100 our gas was $1.25?

It dropped 3.4 in 1 yr and an abve average jump in inflation leap of 0.5 above average.

Did you know it costs 51 cents a litre to refine gasoline at Parkland BBY but only 21 cents a litre at CO-OP Refinery Regina?

Why so much in BBY?

$1.71.9 in Vancouver this morning.

I guess the dollar went down another point. I must be down about 25 points in the last 3 months.

Bummer...

Inflation sucks. Thank you Carbon Tax!

1.9 percent

The annual inflation rate in Canada rose to 1.9 percent in March 2019 from 1.5 percent in the previous month and matching market expectations.

You just lost 0.5% of your saving and you're paying more for goods and services and taxes on said goods and services.

Hooray for Trudeau!

Are emissions dropping drastically and accordingly in step with gas prices?

This is your chance to prove carbon taxes work.
