Revolution and Communist party rule (1959–present)

In the 1950s, various organizations, including some advocating armed uprising, competed for public support in bringing about political change.

In 1956, Fidel Castro and about 80 supporters landed from the yacht Granma in an attempt to start a rebellion against the Batista government. It was not until 1958 that Castro's July 26th Movement emerged as the leading revolutionary group.

By late 1958 the rebels had broken out of the Sierra Maestra and launched a general popular insurrection. After Castro's fighters captured Santa Clara, Batista fled with his family to the Dominican Republic on 1 January 1959. Later he went into exile on the Portuguese island of Madeira and finally settled in Estoril, near Lisbon. Fidel Castro's forces entered the capital on 8 January 1959. The liberal Manuel Urrutia Lleó became the provisional president.

From 1959 to 1966 Cuban insurgents fought a six-year rebellion in the Escambray Mountains against the Castro government. The government's vastly superior numbers eventually crushed the insurgency. The rebellion lasted longer and involved more soldiers than the Cuban Revolution. The United States Department of State has estimated that 3,200 people were executed from 1959 to 1962. According to Amnesty International, official death sentences from 1959–87 numbered 237 of which all but 21 were actually carried out. Other estimates for the total number of political executions range from 4,000 to 33,000. The vast majority of those executed directly following the 1959 revolution were policemen, politicians, and informers of the Batista regime accused of crimes such as torture and murder, and their public trials and executions had widespread popular support among the Cuban population.

The United States government initially reacted favorably to the Cuban revolution, seeing it as part of a movement to bring democracy to Latin America. Castro's legalization of the Communist party and the hundreds of executions of Batista agents, policemen and soldiers that followed caused a deterioration in the relationship between the two countries. The promulgation of the Agrarian Reform Law, expropriating thousands of acres of farmland (including from large U.S. landholders), further worsened relations. In response, between 1960 and 1964 the U.S. imposed a range of sanctions, eventually including a total ban on trade between the countries and a freeze on all Cuban-owned assets in the U.S. In February 1960, Castro signed a commercial agreement with Soviet Vice-Premier Anastas Mikoyan.

As of December 2014, talks with Cuban officials and American officials, including President Barack Obama, resulted in the release of Alan Gross, fifty-two political prisoners, and an unnamed non-citizen agent of the United States in return for the release of three Cuban agents currently imprisoned in the United States. Additionally, while the embargo between the United States and Cuba was not immediately lifted, it was relaxed to allow import, export, and certain limited commerce.

So the famous left wave is getting bigger even in the US but the difference has been progressivism instead of Communists who in Russia over the last 40 years are great left also in Sweden and Finland if I know the two as Russia is the big anti-junkers who are the difference by two friendship in Russia but those If anti-USA and anti-eastern have been there since World War II the same time communists grow in Finland or with Sweden, then there are other anti-USA and anti-Russia those is nationalsocialism this had East and West enemy frontline.

But biggest in Europe those nationalsocialism of Finland and Sweden and maybe Hungary too in Europe but Germany losing their numbers.

The very famous progressivism in America for them believed peace between white and dark cushions very had the greatest friendship to dark in the United States is just a small amount of nationalsocialism in even the United States that has gone out of time last 25 years worldwide even in Germany where they are worse than the United States according to the sums.

But the famous progressivism in the United States is their leading species, also in Germany, about their seat of immigration, which never improved to want nationalsocialism.

Progressivism is a leading species in Central North and South America since 300 million of Europe.

The British, as Germany, believed very few numbers of nationalsocialism.

Maybe progressivism is 80 or even over 90 percents of the United States.

Nationalsocialism threatens progressive.

Is the enemy frontline by those.

Africans believing two left wing.

Still the United States with Obama leadership were socialism.

And yet Russia were socialism.

Arizona mayor declares state of emergency over migrant surge

An Arizona mayor has declared a state of emergency because of the numbers of migrants the feds are dropping off in his close-to-the-border city.

Yuma Mayor Doug Nicholls, a Republican, said Tuesday he made the decision after nearly 1,300 migrants flooded his city of 95,000 in the past 19 days.

He warned that nonprofits helping the migrants were operating beyond capacity, and there was no end in sight to the migrant surge.

Nicholls called on the feds to do more to help, perhaps by “bringing in a FEMA-type response to our community, so FEMA and the federal government in their response could address the situation.”

So-called progressivism is a great world-class of atheism around the world and half of Europe when, above all, there were large parties communism in eastern Europe and north with Finland and Sweden of them white countries. Denmark and Norway, like Germany, believed in progressivism. Britain and France and then Spain and Italy believed in progressivism. So famous western countries in Europe may be Belgium too so I know. The Netherlands thought if racism was also a football pitch so thought.

NY Times Tells Reporters No More Rachel Maddow Or Don Lemon Appearances

The New York Times has started enforcing an old company policy that discourages reporters from appearing on partisan, opinionated cable news shows, according to Vanity Fair.

Ditch the fake news ==> Click here to get news you can trust sent right to your inbox. It's free!
The policy reportedly came back in force when NYT finance editor David Enrich was invited on MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show" on May 19 to discuss a story about allegedly suspicious Deutsche Bank transactions involving President Donald Trump and Jared Kushner.

Enrich accepted, but then was told by superiors to cancel the appearance because NYT was "wary of how viewers might perceive a down-the-middle journalist like Enrich talking politics with a mega-ideological host like Maddow," Vanity Fair reported.

Times executive editor Dean Baquet has reportedly begun to believe that cable news opinion shows have become even more opinionated than normal, leading to a strong "preference" that reporters steer clear.

Other shows flagged as too partisan include Don Lemon's CNN show...

Lawyer sparks workplace discrimination debate over Kamloops' new Teenie Bikini Bistro

Quote:

The recently opening of the Teenie Bikini Bistro in Kamloops, B.C., has an employment lawyer concerned about workplace discrimination but the restaurant's co-owner maintains it's nothing to worry about.
The bistro features pub-style food served by women wearing bikinis. Kelowna lawyer David Brown with Kent Employment Law says it's disconcerting.
"I was surprised that this continues to be prevalent in this day and age ... I kind of started thinking about the legal implications of this kind of a business plan," Brown told Chris Walker, host of Daybreak South.
Hiring process
Brown cites the B.C. Human Rights Code, which prevents discrimination in the workplace on a number of different grounds including gender, sexual orientation and disability. He is concerned that the Teenie Bikini Bistro's hiring practices may be discriminatory toward men, older workers or workers with disabilities, among others.
Bistro co-owner Leeann Mcarthur says it's simply not the case. She says she has no specific hiring process, nor is it mandatory that those applying look a certain way or even be female.
"We have all shapes and sizes here. Most of us have stretch marks," said Mcarthur.
"I've got four kids. I've got stretch marks. I'm wearing a bikini right now. And you know, I'm confident enough to do it and it doesn't bother me."
While Mcarthur has not had any men apply for serving positions at the restaurant yet, she says that as with women, she would hire men if they applied and were solid candidates.
Brown says that legally, imposing a dress code which has the potential to violate or create a different working environment on either the worker or on those workers who don't conform to that model is problematic.
But Mcarthur says she doesn't force her waitresses to wear bikinis. They can work in whatever attire they choose.
"If the girl is confident enough, I don't care what she looks like. If she's willing to wear a bathing suit or bikini or she's comfortable in shorts … whatever she's comfortable in, wear it."
Sexual harassment
Brown says that while the women who work at places like Teenie Bikini Bistro may consent to wearing a bikini, they do not necessarily consent to some of the sexual harassment that might happen within the workplace such as crude jokes, unwanted touching or catcalls.
"It raises concerns about challenges toward the women who are serving the floors," said Brown.
Mcarthur says sexual harassment is an unfortunate reality of the restaurant industry in general.
"You get that no matter what kind of job you're working," she said. "Honestly, I think the men are a little more cautious here," she said of the restaurant's patrons. .............More in the article

I think the value is in getting a name brand for defending so called rights in Canadian cash cow work places...

Though to be fair, I never would have heard of the place if not for the free newspaper publicity. So maybe it's a twofer...
