He was rescued by Nicholas Winston's Kindertransport and got out of Czechoslovakia just before the Jews were rounded up. His parents both perished in the Holocaust.

It was a DELUGE!

Actually, it wasn't because we turned refugee Jews back at our border to have them die at the hands of the Nazis.

No deluge. Canadians should feel proud.

Grew up in North York with lots of Czeck refugees from the 67 exodus.

Good people. Hard working and appreciative of freedom.

I knew a few myself including two of my University professors and our next door neighbors, one of whom trained classical pianists. We got the cream of the crop of refugees with those Czechs and Hungarians who fled Communism.

It really was a DELUGE! They came in the tens of thousands.

Since his past can't be fixed how about you explore why you refer to yourself in the plural more often that you do in the singular? You are either very insecure or you have multiple accounts or both??

Here is an article illustrating how badly LIE-berals are handling job creation in Canada. With some comments of my own in brackets):

The aerospace industry in Canada resembles a giant pyramid scheme

(And sadly - if LIE-berals ever actually do try to buy BAE type 26 destroyers- then our ship building industry will be subjected to the same kind of COSTLY vote buying abuses! We have only to look at how shamefully LIE-berals abused us with their mouldy green electricity price gouging to see the kind of shameless and self serving back room deals that LIE-berals think are suitable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

AARON WUDRICK, SPECIAL TO POSTMEDIA NETWORK. FIRST POSTED: THURSDAY, AUGUST 10, 2017 05:15 PM EDT | UPDATED: THURSDAY, AUGUST 10, 2017 05:44 PM EDT

Recently, federal Innovation Minister Navdeep Bains announced $10 million in funding for the Centre for Aerospace Technology and Training (CATT) located in Winnipeg. CATT describes itself as “a perfect example of a partnership between industry and research/education.”

While there’s nothing objectionable about governments funding a public good like education, it’s notable that the industry partner in question here is aerospace – an industry that seems to perpetually receive a disproportionate amount of politicians’ attention, not to mention taxpayer money.

(Well- in all honesty- LIE-beral efforts to bolster the auto industry have met with sad FAILURE! General Motors is NOT a success story! Is it any wonder that LIE-berals are now seeking other industries to bribe in exchange for votes?)

Superficially, this isn’t surprising. Airplanes are impressive to just about everyone, from small children to politicians, and for obvious reasons. They’re big machines that fly. Even the word aerospace conjures up positive imagery of sophisticated technology and engineers in lab coats. For anyone who laments industries like “cutting down trees” or “extracting oil out of the ground” as boring relics of a bygone era, aerospace ticks all the exciting boxes that signal “economy of the future.”

(Yes- aerospace sounds so clean and tidy and cerebral! No grunt work for aero space! Of course LIE-berals are quietly over looking the fact that air planes are the BIGGEST Driver of global warming on the planet! Yes- LIE-berals are so frantic to buy votes that they are encouraging the very industry that is most instrumental in destroying the environment that LIE-berals tell us they want to save!!!!!!!)

Unfortunately for Canadians, that future never quite seems to arrive. Bombardier, Canada’s most prominent aerospace company, is the national poster child for corporate welfare, having received $4 billion since 1966.

Last year, after receiving $1.3 billion in aid from Quebec taxpayers, it proceeded to fire 2,000 Canadian workers. Not long after, the Trudeau government came along to give them a further $372 million in “repayable loans.” It is no exaggeration to say the company has essentially been kept on life support for decades by Canadian taxpayers. And if Bombardier sold brooms instead of airplanes, the market would have put it out of its misery decades ago.

(And now- as a result of Brexit- the Bombardier plant operating in Northern Ireland is set to take a HUGE fiscal hit- because so many of its components come from European Union! Bombardier is bleeding cash!)

Naturally, aerospace boosters are quick to insist there’s more to the story. Often this takes the form of what are usually referred to as “economic spinoff effects”. The pitch goes something like this: Bombardier builds planes. Those planes need parts. So Bombardier’s demand for parts sustains a whole bunch of suppliers as well.

(What LIE-berals are telling us with this “spin off” economic crap is that their taxes are too high and killing our economy and so giving grants to their PALS at Bombardier is an easy way to RETURN some money back into the economy AND BUY Bombardier union Hog votes! With the EMPHASIS on BUYING VOTES!)

This logic sounds great on paper but there’s just one small problem: it isn’t true. Far from Bombardier sustaining its own supply chain, Canadian taxpayers are forced to subsidize companies in the aerospace supply chain as well, through regional development funds, provincial funds, and the recently launched Strategic Innovation Fund.

(And in fact - Bombardier has been quite successful in sucking up to various govts around the world! WE may be sure that Northern Ireland was chosen for a Bombardier after due consideration of the grants and tax breaks offered in exchange for those Bombardier jobs!!!!!)

In fact, the aerospace industry in Canada resembles a giant pyramid scheme, with taxpayers at the bottom of the pyramid. Based on the “aerospace is special” argument. often backed up with the sage “every other country does it” argument, Canadian taxpayers have the privilege of subsidizing an entire industry top to bottom. There’s the aforementioned subsidies to Bombardier; subsidies for Bombardier-led consortiums to do research and development; subsidies to the buyers of Bombardier’s planes (in the form of cut rate loans through Export Development Canada) which are in many cases already priced below cost; and subsidies to Bombardier’s suppliers.

(With the added bonus that LIE-berals are hitting us with their Carbon crap and trade tax scam so they can collect enough gravy to BUY Hog votes and cling to power! Carbon crap and trade taxes are PROVEN FAILURES- they ONLY clean cash from wallets and leave the dirt in the air! But Carbon crap and trade DOES give LIE-berals a HUGE new slush fund to play with! Its just too bad that airplanes are the dirtiest/most fossil fuel hungry way to travel anyplace! Cdn Geographic magazine told us that it is more environmentally sound to drive an SUV to Florida than to fly there- and quoted the scientists that established this fact! But driving is less convenient for Hogs so the flying continues as our environment BURNS!)

If this sounds like a crazy business strategy, it’s because it is. And if we were to replace the word “airplanes” with “candy canes”, no sane person would take the pseudo-economics of aerospace seriously. But because it is about airplanes, and airplanes are sophisticated machines, politicians, industry executives, union leaders and more than a few otherwise intelligent people buy into the whole absurd charade. And why not? It’s not their money at stake. It’s merely the broader taxpaying public, and those working in industries to which the normal laws of economics apply, who end up paying the price.

(It is people working in those industries vulnerable to “normal laws of economics” who do NOT vote LIE-beral- so screw them! One employed Cdn in three works for govt- and THEY are doing nicely on the gravy train thank you!)

(General Motors has taught us that once a company gets focused on getting govt grants rather than producing a product people want- then that company is generally DOOMED and more govt grants ARE NOT the solution!)

(Govt grants are a great incentive to make a company LESS PRODUCTIVE as workers simply assume govt will buy out any problems! And of course in late 2017- when LIE-berals handed Bombardier a billion dollars as incentive to finish up the Toronto street car mess- Bombardier chiefs immediately gave themselves huge bonuses for their “work”!)

It’s far past time we accept the obvious: aerospace isn’t special, and its perpetual coddling by politicians soaks Canadian taxpayers and hurts Canadian businesses in other industries. If the aerospace industry cannot survive in this country without Canadian taxpayers propping it up forever in countless ways, it’s time to let it go.

(One has only to look at the tv show W-5 with its exposer of repeated failures by Bombardier to produce busses and subway cars according to any sensible time table! Toronto Transit Commission is so frustrated that they have tried to cancel their contract with Bombardier- only to be forbidden by a LIE-beral friendly judge! LIE-berals have long chosen Hog votes in Quebec over common sense and fiscal prudence!)

(With the added bonus that knucklehead city Hogs IGNORED various provisions in the TTC contract with Bombardier that LIMIT the damages that frustrated Toronto city lawyers can sue for- while TTC is forced to keep OLD equipment on the road for years longer than planned- and while the public suffers with repeated winter breakdowns of that old equipment!)

(Toronto legal eagles were truly asleep at the switch as ALL their current troubles with Bombardier had been ALREADY been documented by San Francisco transit staff as they struggled to get Bombardier to deliver!)
