You're giving away the secret of McDonald's Special Big Mac Sauce.
I have better location where they can shove it rather than down my throat.

Straight east of the 4 meltdowns and a few miles straight to the deadest spot you can find and make it the global dump rather than filtering the 'bad shit' back into the herd that only cuts a few lives short. That trench will only get deeper and a simple pipe-line would take care of the water issue at that plant rather than a few breaking and the flood moving the rest into the ocean.
Throw a layer of AB tar-sands on both areas. There is your reason for an industrial port in BC that can be pushed as saving millions of people in Japan would quell all complains, . . . and then do it. Perpetual income and if a spill happens that is parking lot material

Keep in mind this post was made after the one in the intro section. Same rules apply.

Turkey hasn't been driving it's own bus since the end of WWI and probably for some time before that, collective poverty rather than selective poverty before their Kingdom fell in preparation the one in place 100 years later. The term you want is KSA and at the moment Turkey is still a NATO asset and rather than being subject to 'terrorist raids by Israeli trained Kurds'. (loyalty by offering the only buttered bread in the area, less stable than 'fragile') Today their military is acting in tandem. The explosion at the Naval Base during the IDF rraid on the cruise ship was never challenged so they are an Israeli asset. Putin will sell them anything they want, paid in full, delivery about 100 years from the day payment in full is made. Shooting the Russian jet was their commitment to NATO, the sanctions that have been lifted are a few bans on produce, that is all there ever will be. Turkey needs to rejoin their neighbors to the south and find someway to allow them to cash in on the natural resources they are shy on. Food production is the ultimate weapon and being the headwaters of one of the major rivers has to leave food production as being the replacement for oil or NG.

Mossad would have had that embassy as well as every other one in that city and every other city, they are not part of Israel, they are part of the IMF & Co.

A better question is will Turkey withdraw from NATO to become part of the nations he was against in order to become an equal partnership in a thriving club that is good for at least the next 70 years. The IMF will still be with NATO, that is where the 10 feared nations will come from as 'plan B' starts to unfold. Lebanon will be the sea port so she also sees income become bigger that spending. KSA nations will go back to their homeland as will any NATO/Israeli influence.

Turkey would have summed all that up when Russia carried out the 1st mission that stopped their theft of Syrian oil, she is a causality of war so the cards being played are at a different table.

End of post, lol.

U.S. House Dems raise prospect of impeachment, jail for Trump
Associated Press

In this Sept. 28, 2018, file photo, House Judiciary Committee ranking member Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., talks to media during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Capitol Hill in Washington. Carolyn Kaster / AP
WASHINGTON — Top House Democrats have raised the prospect of impeachment or the real possibility of prison time for President Donald Trump if it’s proved that he directed illegal hush-money payments to women, adding to the legal pressure on the president over the Russia investigation and other scandals.
“There’s a very real prospect that on the day Donald Trump leaves office, the Justice Department may indict him, that he may be the first president in quite some time to face the real prospect of jail time,” said Rep. Adam Schiff, the incoming chairman of the House intelligence committee. “The bigger pardon question may come down the road as the next president has to determine whether to pardon Donald Trump.”
Rep. Jerry Nadler, the incoming chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, described the details in prosecutors’ filings Friday in the case of Trump’s former personal lawyer, Michael Cohen, as evidence that Trump was “at the centre of a massive fraud.”
“They would be impeachable offences,” Nadler said.
In the filings, prosecutors in New York for the first time link Trump to a federal crime of illegal payments to buy the silence of two women during the 2016 campaign. Special counsel Robert Mueller’s office also laid out previously undisclosed contacts between Trump associates and Russian intermediaries and suggested the Kremlin aimed early on to influence Trump and his Republican campaign by playing to both his political and personal business interests.
Trump has denied wrongdoing and has compared the investigations to a “witch hunt.”
Nadler, D-N.Y., said it was too early to say whether Congress would pursue impeachment proceedings based on the illegal payments alone because lawmakers would need to weigh the gravity of the offence to justify “overturning” the 2016 election. Nadler and other lawmakers said Sunday they would await additional details from Mueller’s investigation into Russian election interference and possible co-ordination with the Trump campaign to determine the extent of Trump’s misconduct.
Regarding the illegal payments, “whether they are important enough to justify an impeachment is a different question, but certainly they’d be impeachable offences because even though they were committed before the president became president, they were committed in the service of fraudulently obtaining the office,” Nadler said.
Mueller has not said when he will complete a report of any findings, and it isn’t clear that any such report would be made available to Congress. That would be up to the attorney general. Trump on Friday said he would nominate former Attorney General William Barr to the post to succeed Jeff Sessions.
Nadler indicated that Democrats, who will control the House in January, will step up their own investigations. He said Congress, the Justice Department and the special counsel need to dig deeper into the allegations, which include questions about whether Trump lied about his business arrangements with Russians and about possible obstruction of justice.
“The new Congress will not try to shield the president,” he said. “We will try to get to the bottom of this, in order to serve the American people and to stop this massive conspiracy — this massive fraud on the American people.”
Schiff, D-Calif., also stressed a need to wait “until we see the full picture.” He has previously indicated his panel would seek to look into the Trump family’s business ties with Russia.
“I think we also need to see this as a part of a broader pattern of potential misconduct by the president, and it’s that broad pattern, I think, that will lead us to a conclusion about whether it rises to the level to warrant removal from office,” Schiff said.
In the legal filings, the Justice Department stopped short of accusing Trump of directly committing a crime. But it said Trump told Cohen to make illegal payments to porn actress Stormy Daniels and former Playboy model Karen McDougal, both of whom claimed to have had affairs with Trump more than a decade ago.
In separate filings, Mueller’s team detail how Cohen spoke to a Russian who “claimed to be a ’trusted person’ in the Russian Federation who could offer the campaign ’political synergy’ and ’synergy on a government level.”’ Cohen said he never followed up on that meeting. Mueller’s team also said former campaign chairman Paul Manafort lied to them about his contacts with a Russian associate and Trump administration officials, including in 2018.
Republican Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida called the latest filings “relevant” in judging Trump’s fitness for office but said lawmakers need more information to render judgment. He also warned the White House about considering a pardon for Manafort, saying such a step could trigger congressional debate about limiting a president’s pardon powers.
Such a move would be “a terrible mistake,” Rubio said. “Pardons should be used judiciously. They’re used for cases with extraordinary circumstances.”
Sen. Angus King, an independent from Maine and a member of the Senate intelligence committee, cautioned against a rush to impeachment, which he said citizens could interpret as “political revenge and a coup against the president.”
“The best way to solve a problem like this, to me, is elections,” King said. “I’m a conservative when it comes to impeachment. I think it’s a last resort and only when the evidence is clear of a really substantial legal violation. We may get there, but we’re not there now.”
Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy of Connecticut urged Mueller to “show his cards soon” so that Congress can make a determination early next year on whether to act on impeachment.
“Let’s be clear: We have reached a new level in the investigation,” Murphy said. “It’s important for Congress to get all of the underlying facts and data and evidence that the special counsel has.”
Nadler spoke on CNN’s State of the Union Sunday, Rubio was on CNN and ABC’s This Week, and Schiff appeared on CBS’ Face the Nation. Murphy spoke on ABC, and King was on NBC’s Meet the Press.

NEW YORK — Jose Canseco is ready to take a swing at politics.
The former major league slugger has made his pitch for a big job at the White House, tweeting Wednesday to President Donald Trump: “u need a bash brother for Chief if (sic) Staff.”
Canseco told his “little buddy” he has “a secret reorg plan already.” He suggested Trump send him a direct message and signed off (hashtag)yeswecanseco.
The outspoken Canseco knows his way around Washington. He testified on Capitol Hill before Congress during its 2005 hearings into the use of steroids in baseball.
Canseco hit 462 home runs during 17 seasons in the majors. He played for seven teams from 1985 to 2001 and was the 1988 AL MVP with Oakland.
Trump’s decision on a replacement for departing chief of staff John Kelly is expected by the end of the year.

Almost every part of President Donald Trump's life is under investigation
Associated Press
Published:
December 15, 2018
Updated:
December 15, 2018 8:17 PM EST
WASHINGTON — Investigations now entangle Donald Trump’s White House, campaign, transition, inauguration, charity and business. For Trump, the political, the personal and the deeply personal are all under examination.
Less than two years into Trump’s presidency, his business associates, political advisers and family members are being probed, along with the practices of his late father. On Saturday, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke became the fourth Cabinet member to leave under an ethical cloud, having sparked 17 investigations into his actions on the job, by one watchdog’s count.
All of this with the first special counsel investigation against a president in 20 years hanging over Trump’s head, spinning out charges and strong-arming guilty pleas from underlings while keeping in suspense whether the president — “Individual 1” in prosecutor Robert Mueller’s coded legalese — will end up accused of criminal behaviour himself.
The scope of the scrutiny has shaped Trump’s presidency, proving a steady distraction from his governing agenda. So far, much of it has been launched by federal prosecutors and government watchdogs that eschew partisanship. The intensity is certain to increase next year when Democrats assume control of the House and the subpoena power that comes with it.
Although Trump dismisses the investigations as politically motivated “witch hunts,” his high-octane Twitter account frequently betrays just how consumed he is by the scrutiny. He’s also said to watch hours of television coverage on milestone days in the investigations.
“It saps your energy, diverts your attention and you simply can’t lead because your opponents are up in arms against you,” Cal Jillson, a Southern Methodist University political scientist and historian, said of the scrutiny. “It weakens your friends and emboldens your enemies.”
Almost midway through his term, Trump is struggling to deliver on his central campaign promises. He may end the year without a Republican-led Congress giving him the $5 billion he wants for a border wall. And he’s previewed few legislative priorities for 2019.
Even if he had, it’s unlikely the new Democratic House majority would have much incentive to help a president weakened by investigations rack up wins as his own re-election campaign approaches.
Perhaps not since Bill Clinton felt hounded by a “vast wing conspiracy,” as Hillary Clinton put it, has a president been under such duress from investigation.
This jeopardy has come with Trump’s party in control of Congress and the Justice Department driving at least three separate criminal investigations. They are the Mueller probe looking into possible collusion, obstruction of justice or other wrongdoing in contacts between the Trump campaign and Russia; the New York campaign-finance case involving hush money paid to Trump’s alleged lovers; and now a case from New York, first reported by The Wall Street Journal this past week, examining the finances and operations of Trump’s inaugural committee and whether foreign interests made illegal payments to it.
Behind those matters is a battery of lawsuits or inquiries from state attorneys general and other parties tied mainly to Trump businesses.
At best, the investigations are overshadowing what has been positive economic news. At worst, the probes are a threat to the presidency, Trump’s family and his business interests.
The deep diving will only grow in the new year when Democrats take over the House. They are expected to launch their own investigations and could pursue impeachment, though party leaders caution they could face a political backlash by taking that step.
Even if Trump avoids impeachment, the Democratic investigations will create headaches. Administration officials will be called to testify before Congress and lawmakers will seek a trove of documents, probably including Trump’s tax returns, which he has refused to make public.
A bare-bones White House staff may struggle to keep up. A tally by the Brookings Institution finds more than 60 per cent of Trump’s top aides have left in the first two years, a turnover rate exceeding the previous five presidents. In addition, 10 Cabinet secretaries have departed, more than Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Clinton lost in two years. The shake-ups now have left Mick Mulvaney, Trump’s budget chief, doing double duty indefinitely as the president’s chief of staff.
That combination makes it hard to imagine a president effectively engaged in policy, even if — as in the case of Clinton — the drawn-out investigations lead to an impeachment that fails to remove the president.
“The modern presidency is extraordinarily complex and demanding so you need the president’s full attention,” Jillson says. “Where your attention should be, you’re also thinking about meeting with your lawyers.”
As the investigations mount, few Republicans have dissociated themselves publicly from Trump. But privately, some lawmakers do worry that the investigations will damage his re-election prospects and their own chances in 2020 House and Senate races.
The federal campaign finance probe has put GOP lawmakers in a particularly awkward position. Prosecutors — as well as Trump’s longtime personal lawyer Michael Cohen and a tabloid company that has long been an ally — assert that Trump directed hush payments to keep women quiet about alleged affairs in the closing weeks of the 2016 campaign. Such a payment would violate campaign finance laws. Cohen was sentenced this past week to three years in prison.
Underscoring the balancing act for Republicans, outgoing Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah initially stated that he didn’t much care about Trump being implicated in Cohen’s crime, then thought better of his words.
“I made comments about allegations against the president that were irresponsible and a poor reflection on my lengthy record of dedication to the rule of law,” Hatch said in a statement Friday.
Five people in Trump’s orbit have pleaded guilty to charges in the continuing Mueller probe. Among them, Paul Manafort and Rick Gates were Nos. 1 and 2, respectively, for a time in Trump’s presidential campaign. George Papadopoulos, a lower-level campaign adviser, was sentenced to 14 days in prison and is out. The others are Michael Flynn, who was Trump’s first national security adviser in office and is to be sentenced Tuesday, and Cohen, who is expected to begin his sentence in March.
In addition, the special counsel’s office says Flynn, in giving 19 interviews and turning over a mountain of documents, has assisted in a criminal investigation that has yet to be revealed.
In other words, there’s no end in sight.
Trump is also exposed to legal peril beyond that from federal prosecutors. Among the lawsuits or investigations:
–Democratic attorneys general in Maryland and the District of Columbia and congressional Democrats are challenging the Trump Organization’s business transactions with foreign and state government interests, such as those at his Washington hotel, citing the constitutional ban on presidents taking payments from such sources without congressional consent.
–Summer Zervos, once a contestant on Trump’s TV show, has sued Trump for defamation for accusing her of lying. She alleged in 2016 that he made unwelcome physical contact with her. He’s failed several times to derail the case.
–New York tax officials are looking into whether Trump or his charitable foundation misrepresented tax liability. In addition, the New York tax department said it is “vigorously pursuing all appropriate avenues of investigation” after a New York Times report found Trump and his family, going back to transactions by his father, Fred Trump, cheated on taxes for decades. The report said Trump received the equivalent today of at least $413 million from his father, much of it through dubious tax manoeuvrs. Trump called the report “a very old, boring and often told hit piece on me.”
–New York authorities allege in a lawsuit that Trump illegally tapped his charitable Trump Foundation to settle legal disputes, help his campaign for president and cover personal and business expenses, including the purchase of a life-size portrait of himself for $10,000.
Stanley Renshon, political scientist at the City University of New York and a psychoanalyst, says all of that adds up to a lot of people, not just the left, “trying to make his presidency untenable.”
It is, perhaps, vaster than the right-wing “conspiracy” the Clintons endured, Renshon says. “I call it the everybody conspiracy.”

Toronto CANNOT MAINTAIN its own EXISTING STOCK of "affordable housing" and yet they are WASTING OPTIONS -like giving away vacant land!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The city COULD have sold that land at nice profit to developers who would then build for profit and create properties that WOULD GENERATE TAXES for the city!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But no- Toronto is going to screw around with affordable housing that it CANNOT AFFORD TO BUILD- nor afford to maintain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And it is the same story with the HUNDREDS OF VACANT SINGLE FAMILY HOMES littering Toronto streets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Metro Toronto Housing Authority owns these hundreds of homes- that are UN-INHABITABLE for an assortment of reasons and are sitting EMPTY and unoccupied!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The empty homes are generally eye sores- with rotting porches and leaky roofs and peeling paint etc........and it is the city that must pay to shovel sidewalks in front of the buildings in winter and mow weeds in summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is the city that must supply security patrols for the empty buildings and limit the number of crack heads squatting in those buildings!!!!!!!!!!

City staff have been sitting on many of those properties for DECADES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AS former mayor Rob Ford PROVED- selling off just a FEW of the empty properties to developers will raise HUGE CASH for the city- cahs that CAN be used to repair decaying multiple unit dwellings!!!!!!!

And of course developers converted the few mouldering relics that Ford managed to get sold - into nice looking REAL ESTATE TAX GENERATORS FOR THE CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the madness and stupidity of LIE-berals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They will play ONLY their own idiot game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LIE-berals have NO CONCERN for the needs of anybody but their fellow gravy train riding union Hogs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LIE-berals are prepared to bankrupt us all just so long as they DO NOT have to admit they WERE EVER WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trump signs order to create U.S. Space Command
Associated Press

In this Dec. 3, 2018, file photo, In this photo provided by the U.S. Air Force, a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, carrying the Spaceflight SSO-A: SmallSat Express, launches from Space Launch Complex-4E at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump launched the Pentagon’s new Space Command Tuesday, an effort to better organize and advance the military’s vast operations in space that could cost as much as $800 million over the next five years.
Trump signed a one-page memorandum Tuesday authorizing the Department of Defence to create the new command.
The goal is to set up a command to oversee and organize space operations, accelerate technical advances and find more effective ways to defend U.S. assets in space, including the vast constellations of satellites that American forces rely on for navigation, communications and surveillance. The move comes amid growing concerns that China and Russia are working on ways to disrupt, disable or even destroy U.S. satellites.
The new order is separate from the president’s much touted goal of creating a “Space Force” as an independent armed service branch, but is considered a first step in that direction. The memo provides little detail on what will be a long and complicated process as the Defence Department begins to pull together various space units from across the military services into a more co-ordinated, independent organization.
According to one U.S. official, the command would pull about 600 staff from existing military space offices, and then add at least another 1,000 over the coming years. The roughly $800 million would mainly cover the additional staff. The costs for the existing staff would just transfer to the new command, but that total was not immediately available.
The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss internal deliberations not yet announced.
Army Lt. Col. Joe Buccino, spokesman for Deputy Defence Secretary Patrick Shanahan, said that establishing Space Command is “a critical step in accelerating our space capabilities and posture to defend our vital national interests and deter our adversaries. This combatant command will lead space operations and develop space warfighting doctrine, tactics, and techniques.”
He added that the Pentagon will continue to develop a legislative proposal to meet the president’s vision for a space force.
The first steps next year will be to nominate top leaders for Space Command, including a four-star general and a deputy. The command would likely at least begin to take form in Colorado, where the current Joint Functional Component Command for Space is already located. But there has been no final decision on a location for the new command.
Funding for the command will be included in the budget for fiscal year 2020, which will be unveiled in February.
Trump’s order accelerates what has been a decades-long effort to reorganize and improve the military’s technological advances in space, which at times has gotten less attention as the Air Force has focused on warplanes and other combat priorities.
The military’s role in space has been under scrutiny because the United States is increasingly reliant on orbiting satellites that are difficult to protect. Satellites provide communications, navigation, intelligence and other services vital to the military and the national economy.
Over the past year, the issue gained urgency amid growing competition and threats from adversary nations.
U.S. intelligence agencies reported earlier this year that Russia and China were pursuing “nondestructive and destructive” anti-satellite weapons for use during a future war. And there are growing worries about cyberattacks that could target satellite technology, potentially leaving troops in combat without electronic communications or navigation abilities.
A U.S. Space Command existed from 1985 to 2002, but was disbanded in the aftermath of the 9-11 terrorist attacks so that U.S. Northern Command could be established, focusing on defence of the homeland.
Although Space Command went away, its functions remained and were absorbed by U.S. Strategic Command. The Air Force retained its lead role in space through Air Force Space Command. That existing space command will be a key component of the new joint entity, raising space to the same status as other headquarters such as U.S. Cyber Command, Special Operations Command or Strategic Command.
The new Space Command will also pull from existing units in the other services, such as the Army Space and Missile Command and the Navy’s Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command.
Officials said the process of breaking away parts of other organizations and moulding them all into a new command will be done carefully, to ensure it’s done correctly without jeopardizing any ongoing operations or activities.

As Donald Trump condones the use of tear gas against migrants at the Mexican border, linguistics icon Noam Chomsky says former US presidents are the ones who made conditions so bad in Latin America that people need to flee.
Speaking to Democracy Now, Chomsky blamed Washington for making things terrible enough that residents of certain Latin American countries feel they have no other choice but to try to leave for a better life.

That life would be perfect if only the United States would allow itself to be treated as a SUCKER by all other countries on Earth!!!!!!!!!!!

Just look at the LONG TERM WHINE of socialists who blame poverty in Communist Cuba on Yankee refusal to trade with the Cuban Comrades!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Putin Says Open to Third Nations Joining Nuclear Treaty

Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested Tuesday he was open to the idea of other countries joining a key Cold War treaty limiting mid-range nuclear arms or to starting talks on a new agreement.
The president spoke after Washington this month said it would withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces treaty (INF) within 60 days if Russia did not dismantle missiles that the US claims breach the deal.
At a defence ministry meeting, Putin repeated accusations that Washington had itself violated the bilateral treaty and suggested other countries join the US-Russia agreement in a bid to salvage it.
Signed in 1987 by then US president Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbachev, the treaty puts no restrictions on other major military actors like China.
"Yes, indeed there are certain difficulties with this treaty," Putin said. "Other countries possessing short- and intermediate-range missiles are not party to it.
"But what prevents (us) from starting talks on their accession to the existing treaty or starting negotiating the parameters of a new treaty?" he said.
He reiterated the threat that Russia would have to retaliate if the United States ditched the treaty.
"Whatever the complaints about the treaty, in current conditions it plays a stabilising role, works to support a certain level of predictability and restraint in the military sphere."
This month Putin said about a dozen countries were probably producing mid-range missiles of the type banned by the INF treaty.

The 'revolution' was over in 1960, it was the late 1990's before Canada stepped foot in the place. I would seriously laugh my ass off if the 'bad odors' turned out to be a lifelong infection of black mold. It it doesn't hurt Indians in the north a few white people should be able to overcome it as. A look at how long they were closed is how long nobody in the world was allowed to trade with Cuba.

Despite an economic embargo against Cuba that has existed for a half century, Americans and citizens of US allies routinely conduct business with the country, including trade and tourism.

In 1960, the Castro regime seized all American property and industry in Cuba. In response, the United States imposed an embargo against the nation. No American citizens could travel there and no American companies could do business there.
Known to Cubans as “el bloqueo” (“the blockade”), these restrictions were written into US law decades later, as the Cuban Democracy Act, passed by Congress and signed by President Bush in 1992. The goal of the law was to promote “a peaceful transition to democracy in Cuba through the application of sanctions.”
At the time, normalized trade with the US might have been a valuable incentive for compliance with the 1992 law. The Soviet Union, Cuba’s primary backer, had collapsed one year earlier, devastating the tiny nation’s supplies of medicine, food and oil.

FYI there are no Canadian owned companies, they are all subsidiaries of US Companies and they are subsidies of the World Bank, the owners if the Mafia and the entire global Black Market. Let's be clear about what went on back then and how that is still going on today. A Russian military base (for missiles) on an island in the area means no military invasion of the US anywhere in South America.

Cuba has produced a lot of doctors in the last 50 years, Canada has invaded a lot of countries based on nothing but lies and created an untold number of 'Mafia types'. Even so, a dumb fuk in the US said Iran was acting like the 'Mafia', you know the one in the US that doesn't exist let alone was running Cuba like it was their own sin-bin so IS bog wogs could rape children and not have it end up as a court case and they end up in prison or dead. Those are who you are cheering on, that makes you more immoral than Castro was. That is very sad at the same time but also explains why I keep the loco collective at arms length.

Trump's 2018: A year in a stranger-than-sitcom presidency
Associated Press
Published:
December 22, 2018
Updated:
December 22, 2018 12:44 PM EST
In this Nov. 26, 2018, file photo, President Donald Trump waves as he arrives to speak during a rally for Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., at Tupelo Regional Airport, in Tupelo, Miss. (AP Photo/Alex Brandon, file)
WASHINGTON — The stranger-than-sitcom American presidency opened 2018 with a big tease about mutual nuclear destruction from two leaders who then found “love” not war. It seems President Donald Trump and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un were just playing hard to get.
The presidency ends the year saturated in tumult, with the government in partial shutdown and Trump tweeting a video of himself warbling a parody of the theme song from “Green Acres,” a television sitcom from the 1960s, to mark his signing of a farm bill.
Throw in a beer-loving and very angry Supreme Court nominee, an unhappy departing defence secretary, Trump’s parallel universe of facts and his zillion tweets, and you can see that president’s world this year was touched by the weird, the traumatic and the fantastical — also known as WTF.
There was no holding back the self-described “very stable genius” with the “very, very large brain.”
Some serious and relatively conventional things got done in 2018.
There was a midterm election. Many more Democrats are coming to Congress and not quite all of them plan to run for president. Divided government dawns in January when Democrats take control of the House; Republicans retain their grip on the Senate.
An overhaul of the criminal justice system was accomplished, and in an unusually bipartisan way, though it took a dash of reality TV’s Kim Kardashian West to move it along. Gun control actually was tightened a bit, with Trump’s unilateral banning of bump stocks.
Trump shocked allies and lost Defence Secretary Jim Mattis over a presidential decision to pull U.S. troops out of Syria, quickly following up with indications that up to half the troops in Afghanistan might be withdrawn, too.
Self-described “Tariff Man” started one trade war, with China, and headed off a second by tweaking the North American Free Trade Agreement and giving it an unpronounceable acronym, USMCA. He withdrew the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal, putting action behind his Twitter shout: “WE ARE NO LONGER A COUNTRY THAT WILL STAND FOR YOUR DEMENTED WORDS OF VIOLENCE & DEATH.”
Trump placed his second justice on the Supreme Court in two years after Brett Kavanaugh, accused of alcohol-fueled sexual assault in his youth, raged against the allegations at a congressional hearing and acknowledged only: “I liked beer, I still like beer,” but “I never sexually assaulted anyone.”
There were frustrations and fulminations aplenty for the president, particularly about the steaming-ahead Russia-Trump campaign investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller (“special councel” in some Trump tweets).
Nor did he make much progress on his promised border wall (“boarder wall”), which he renamed “artistically designed steel slats” in December in what he regarded as a concession to wall-despising, concrete-cursing Democrats. The concession did not work: large parts of the government closed Saturday over the wall-induced budget impasse.
He took heat for a zero-tolerance policy that forced migrant children from their parents until he backed off, inaccurately blaming Democrats for “Child Seperation.”
It was a very good year for jobs. It was a check-your-smartphone-right-now, pass-the-smelling-salts year for the stock market. Trump, who assailed the unemployment rate as a phoney measure when he was a candidate, couldn’t speak of it enough as Obama-era job growth continued on his watch. He went mum about the market, a prime subject for his boasting before it took a sustained dive.
Trump’s approval rating in polls was one of the few constants on this swiftly tilting planet: 42% approval and 56% disapproval in The Associated Press-NORC’s latest and 38%-57% via Gallup, neither much different than in January.
Through it all, the mainstreaming of the bizarre proceeded apace and North Korea’s Kim set that tone right on Jan. 1 with his New Year cheer to Americans across the ocean: “It’s not a mere threat but a reality that I have a nuclear button on the desk in my office. All of the mainland United States is within the range of our nuclear strike.”
Trump responded the next day with a tweet about size and performance. “I too have a Nuclear Button, but it is a much bigger & more powerful one than his, and my Button works!”
Once they got that out of their system, things quickly improved, helped along by Kim’s letters to Trump, which the U.S. president called “beautiful.” There was no more talk about Trump being a “mentally deranged dotard” or Kim being a “maniac,” the musty insults of an earlier time. In June, they held history’s first meeting between a North Korean leader and a current U.S. president. “We fell in love,” Trump later said at a West Virginia rally.
Kim had previously vowed to visit “fire and fury” on the U.S. but the “Fire and Fury” that made Trump livid early this year was the book of the same name, Michael Wolff’s insider account of the Trump White House. That was a different sort of missile. The president took particular exception to observations in the book by his former chief strategist, tweeting about “Sloppy Steve Bannon, who cried when he got fired and begged for his job. Now Sloppy Steve has been dumped like a dog by almost everyone. Too bad!”
They are said to be on better terms now.
Over the course of the year, Trump spoke at more than 40 campaign rallies, kept up his Twitter barrage (40,000 tweets since 2009 on his @realDonaldTrump account) and answered plenty of questions in infrequent but lengthy news conferences and sit-down interviews.
So what stands out in this blizzardy whiteout of unconventionality?
How about this farewell to his secretary of state, Rex Tillerson? “He was dumb as a rock and I couldn’t get rid of him fast enough. He was lazy as hell.” (The president usually reserves “dumb as a rock” for journalists.)
Or his description of Stormy Daniels, paid to stay quiet about their alleged affair, as “horseface?”
Or this description of his attorney general, Jeff Sessions, as “scared stiff and Missing in Action,” before Sessions was finally out in November?
Will history long remember that in 2018 the president called Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff “little Adam Schitt” on Twitter and nations in Africa “shithole countries” in a private meeting?
Or that he (correctly) predicted Hurricane Florence would be “tremendously wet” or told the AP: “I have a natural instinct for science?”
In July, Trump appeared to side with Russian President Vladimir Putin when he stood by Putin’s side at a Helsinki summit news conference and gave weight to Putin’s denial that Russia meddled in the 2016 election, despite the firm conclusion of U.S. intelligence agencies that it had. “I don’t see any reason why it would be” Russia, Trump said.
But while it’s been hardly noticed in a capital consumed by the shutdown drama, Mattis, Syria, steel slats and market convulsions, 2018 draws to a close as it started — with warnings of a nuclear Armageddon, this time from Putin.
Putin’s prompt was Trump’s intention to walk away from one arms control treaty and his reluctance to extend another.
That, said Putin, “could lead to the destruction of civilization as a whole and maybe even our planet.”
Maybe he’s just playing hard to get.

'ENJOY YOURSELF': Trump tells boy believing in Santa at 7 is 'marginal'
Associated Press

December 25, 2018 11:56 AM EST
WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump on Christmas Eve took calls from children anxious to find out where Santa was on his gift-giving journey.
In one conversation, Trump asked a seven-year-old named Coleman, “Are you still a believer in Santa?” He listened for a moment before adding, “Because at seven, it’s marginal, right?” Trump listened again and chuckled before saying, “Well, you just enjoy yourself.”
Trump: Government won’t re-open ‘until we have a wall or fence’
Donald Trump: ‘Nothing new on the shutdown’
White House: Trump would accept less money for border wall
Trump: Jim Mattis out as defence secretary on Jan. 1
Mrs. Trump told a caller that Santa was in the Sahara. Several minutes later, she reported that Santa was far away in Morocco but would be at the caller’s home on Christmas morning.
Mrs. Trump later tweeted that helping children track Santa “is becoming one of my favourite traditions!”
The NORAD Tracks Santa program became a Christmas Eve tradition after a child mistakenly called the forerunner to the North American Aerospace Defence Command in 1955 and asked to speak to Santa.
The program wasn’t affected by the government shutdown. It’s run by volunteers at Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado using pre-approved funding.
The Trumps later travelled to Washington National Cathedral to attend the Solemn Holy Eucharist of Christmas Eve. The cathedral’s website said the program included readings from Holy Scripture, favourite congregational hymns and seasonal choral and instrumental music as well as Holy Communion. Passes were required.
Trump most likely would have been attending Christmas services at a church near his estate in Palm Beach, Fla. But he scrapped plans to head to Florida for the holidays after parts of the government were forced to shut down indefinitely in a budget stalemate with Congress.

And he wants to suggest that open trade between United States and Cuba might have benefited somebody or other!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Somehow.................MHz is being more delusional than usual!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cubans themselves referred to the first year of Castro regime as "the year of the firing squad"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And Our idiot Boy Justin refers to Castro- the bloody handed Soviet dictator as a close family friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Consider:

Here is a nice article illustrating what a pack of vicious morons the entire Trudeau Clan was and still are! With some comments of my own in brackets!):

Trudeau hasn't fallen far from the tyrant-admiring tree. By Lorne Gunter , Edmonton Sun.

First posted: Tuesday, November 29, 2016 07:33 PM EST | Updated: Tuesday, November 29, 2016 07:47 PM EST

One of the first indications human rights organizations received of the brutality of the Castro regime came in 1966 when a report emerged about Cuban officials draining the blood from political prisoners who were about to be executed. The blood was sold, usually to North Vietnam for the treatment of Communist soldiers wounded fighting against the United States.

With practice, Cuban doctors learned they could siphon about three-and-half litres of blood out of the average adult (most have five litres) and still keep them awake to be shot.

(I have to aks: “how desperately poverty stricken and messed up does your economy have to be to persuade law enforcement officials that acting like a penny pinching vampire is a good idea?” And leftist loons like our prime minster Trudeau-both father and son- want to blame United States `imperialism` for the hunger and poverty of Castro under Cuba?)

Later in Castro’s reign, experimental drugs and medical techniques were tried first on those imprisoned for daring to speak out against “El Comandante.”

(Again I ask: “how poverty stricken and callous do you have to be to treat human beings in such a fashion? Especially when its known that their main sin is simply wanting to get AWAY from Castro and Cuba?” And Our brainless Boy prime minister considers Castro to be a great man and close personal friend? Some questions about the judgement and moral sense of Our brainless Boy and his vile family now come to mind! Especially after reading the blather his vile farther produced-scorning democracy, mocking social equality, praising Hitler and Stalin, remarking on the genius of Mao Tse-Tung in rushing thirty million Chinese to the gallows to secure his hold on power. And what of brother Sacha Trudope who has made a modest career as a film maker-cooperating with Iranian Mullahs to produce anti Jewish and anti American propaganda! Sacha considers dictator Castro to be more worthy of forming a govt than the ELECTED OFFICIALS in other South American nations! These are the people the Trudope family admires and considers to be FRIENDS!)

I guess that is one of the advances in health care (forced blood gathering) our own Prime Minister Justin Trudeau meant when praising deceased Cuban dictator Fidel Castro last weekend.

According to the Cuba Archive, an exile group that seeks to document the death of every dissident killed or “disappeared” by the Castro regime since 1959, at least 10,000 people have been executed for opposing the Communist dictator. Other researchers peg the number at nearer 70,000, out of a country with a population of about 9 million at the height of the revolution’s repression in the 1960s and 1970s.

That doesn’t include another 5,000 to 30,000 who drowned trying to escape the repression on rickety boats bound for Florida, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. Upwards of one-third of the island’s population fled over the decades.

(Communist govt has always had SEVERE trouble keeping its people down on the collective farm. The East German govt did some elementary math in the late 1940`s and figured out their nation would be virtually EMPTY of people in FOUR YEARS because so many people were fleeing WEST-unless they did something DRASTIC! So the Iron Curtain was erected-complete with search lights and machine gun towers, land mines, lethal jolts of electricity, ferocious attack dogs trained to MAIM and cripple and hordes of armed guards with orders: SHOOT to KILL anybody in the `no mans land` between East and West!)

Castro’s Western apologists – Justin and his father Pierre among them – also seldom acknowledge how their idol used boatlifts to rid his country of criminals and the mentally ill. Cuba’s reputation as a peaceful, happy country has been helped enormously not by its enlightened criminal justice and health systems, but by Fidel loading murderers, rapists, drug dealers and psychiatric patients onto rafts at the point of a gun.

Anyone – teachers, doctors, writers, journalists, priests, business owners, opposition politicians – anyone at all who called for Castro’s ouster could be sent to internment camps where they were forced to do back-breaking work (usually harvesting sugar cane or tobacco) on meagre diets.

Even regular people overheard to complain about the economy could lose their jobs and find their families evicted from their homes, their rations cut.

(And in the early 1990`s there were news articles in main stream Cdn media about how dangerously malnourished many Cubans became after the Soviet collapse and the ending of Soviet subsidies to Cuba!)

Cuban soldiers acting as surrogates for the Soviet Union during Angola’s civil war in the 1970s and 1980s butchered an estimated 70,000 civilians during that African country’s civil war.

The Cuban army often entered villages suspected of hiding opponents of the Marxist government, barricaded residents in their huts and burned them alive. Or they hacked limbs off and let villagers bleed to death. Women as young as 13 were herded into rape camps.

As recently as this spring, the Cuban government, now led by Fidel’s brother Raul, seized over 1,000 churches and confiscated the personal belongings of priests and ministers.

All of this was perpetrated by the man our own PM praised as beloved by his people and claimed as a long-time Trudeau-family friend.

This is par for the course for the Trudeau’s, though. As I have written before, the tousled-mop acorn hasn’t fallen far from the tyrant-admiring tree.

The senior Trudeau received rare permission from the Maoist government to tour China in 1960 at the height of the Great Leap Forward. Due to the forced collectivization of farms and the press-ganging of millions into unsafe factories, at least 30 million starved or were worked to death.

Pierre Trudeau must have seen the brutality, but his book on his travels mentions not a word. Instead, he praised Mao for the advancement his government had made in education and health care.

Sound familiar?

(Its worth reminding people that Our brainless Boy has expressed PERSONAL admiration for the Chinese Communist Party-for the way they get things done! It all makes the recent `elbowgate` business in which Our Boy bruised and battered Cdn members of parliament and shouted “get the **** out of my way” as he bashed his way through the crowd look rather sinister! Its worth asking: just how completely would Our brainless Boy be in subverting and abusing OUR democracy-which his father wrote of as being imperialist-if he thought he could get away with it? How far would the Trudopes go if they thought they could get away with things?)

(Pierre Trudope condemned the British and Cdn war against Nazi Germany as imperialist-he spoke of this imperialism in speeches he gave and he also wrote about it and is quoted by his chosen biographers-Max and Monique Nemni-who bill themselves as long time friends of Pierre and also as staunch LIE-berals. Even the Nemni`s were shocked by what they found in Our Pet`s papers! And how much of this crap has Our brainless Boy absorbed from Dad?)
