I would think the Old Stock Canadians and Real Americans would approve of these riots, considering they're anti-tax, and peripherally, anti-action on global warming.

They fought with weapons that shot pebbles when the lead ran out, that at a blistering 2 shots per minute if you weren't crying at the same time, everybody was, who wouldn't??

Lot's of people out there mistaking a violent tax protest as 'fighting the system'.... like fighting to have your rapist use more lube.... when you all are ready to really tear it down and break it to the point it can never operate again let me know... you can only collect high taxes if the people are dependent on your services... all that will come of this so called revolution and their ridiculous yellow vests is a more comfortable dependency.. which in time will make them more dependent than ever... like slaves rioting to only be whipped twice a day rather than three times..... but keep on picking the cotton..... - Jeff Lariviere

France’s yellow vest protesters, called “les gilets jaunes,” are protesting the rising living costs associated with the country’s carbon tax and, more specifically, the dramatic increase in gasoline and diesel prices.

BUT Canada will impose a carbon tax that will give back more than it collects to 70% of the people who's wallets it sucks off of...so it's all roses and sunny ways....

If this is so great for the people, then why the riots in Paris? This question should be the news story in Canada.

What will it take to get Canadians to riot? I guess too many spend time complaining on facebook and CC to have the energy to riot.

I find it funny that Yankees and Canadians make fun of the French as being cowards but nobody does riot like the French. :)

The gas and diesel taxes have been suspended/canceled, but more protests are planned for Saturday.
Clearly, something else is going on.

.......do the French need to heat their homes? It is December in the Northern Hemisphere so that could be part of it. Is heating oil or propane or natural gas or whatever they use for heat suspended/canceled from their carbon tax? A 'carbon' tax is a tax on everything. Everything manufactured will be taxed, & the shipping to the wholesaler will be taxed, the wholesaler will be taxed, the shipping to the retailer will be taxed, the retailer will be taxed, & the tax at every step will eventually be passed onto the end user....who is rioting in the streets in Paris.

Look around you as you sit at your keyboard. What can you see that didn't arrive by plane or train or boat or truck, or some combination of those modes of shipping? Tell me how a head of Iceberg Lettuce the size of a softball is worth $3.99 CAD before a carbon tax but with only the threat of it being imposed in another three weeks? I think this is the retailers trying to get a jump on their price increase. This is much more than the tax on gas and diesel. You & I are both made from dead star stuff, and every breath we take we exhale carbon dioxide (about 1/2 a ton/yr each). This is just the beginning.
