To see the US crumble to dust they would allow small concessions. The KSA and Israel are friends so that would be like extending the 'olive branch'. I'n sure 1979 was a year when Iran became the 'black sheep', with the US gone so would the label. If Syria and Qatar and Jordan are already acting like the leaders of both Koreas it will not take long for the wound to heal. Wanting in on billion is part of it.

The reported 'story' the Saudis are going to go with is that this was a botched kidnapping and interrogation by a 'rogue' element of Saudi Intelligence.
They are likely going to blame it on Khoshoggi for not 'cooperating' with his abduction and questioning. BUT you do not go to a kidnapping with a forensic autopsy specialist, a clean up crew and, a bone saw. And nothing on this scale in a foreign consulate would be done without the direct instigation and approval of MbS and, the cooperation of the Consular General and, the Consulate Security. It followed a detailed and integrated script which would involve dozens of people in the plan and execution. And it ALL went to plan.
If Trump gives any credence to this absurd and outrageous cover he will look like a damn fool. It is an obvious and grotesque fraud. He will also be tying himself to a regime in Saudi Arabia that is increasingly reckless, blood thirsty and desperate as it sees its political hegemony disintegrating. The Corporate House of Saud also is unlikely to prop up a completely discredited Crown Prince when it sees its economic foundations being eroded.

"Rouges" did it. It was a random act of violence carried out by unknown passers-by deep inside the Saudi Arabia Embassy where all sorts of anonymous violence occurs (must be Blacks in the neighbourhood!)
