Its a well-established fact that American politics is static. Once one party gets into power they stay there forever.

There is nothing like a pendulum going on. Where power flows back and forth between the two parties.

That is fake news.

Right.

1961 - 1969 Democratic president

1969 - 1977 Republican president

1977 - 1981 Democratic president

1981 - 1993 Republican president

1993 - 2001 Democratic president

2001 - 2009 Republican president

2009 - 2017 Democratic president

2017 - present Republican president

That is seven swings in 58 years. Yep, a pendulum.

The Dems ruled for 28 years, the GOP for 29 years.

Yep, a pendulum.

For comparison, Canada:

1961 - 1965 Conservative gov't.

1965 - 1979 Liberal gov't.

1979 -1980 Conservative gov't

1980 - 1984 Liberal gov't

1984 - 1993 Conservative gov't

1993 - 2006 Liberal gov't

2006 - 2015 Conservative gov't

2015 - present Liberal gov't.

That is 23 years of Conservative gov't, and 34 years of Liberal gov't.

With (excluding Joe Clark's six month interuption of the Liberals' 19 year run) seven changes.

Canada is more static than the USA

If more people are working less will need social services .

That is a big BIG problem for the Democrats.

Just like Democrat Sen. Liz Warren said... "We need to turn this country around."

In other words, more unemployment and more dependency on the Government.

If it wasn't for a handful of idiots on the forum, we'd be mostly oblivious to the "world ending" problems Trump is "causing". :) :)

BANGOR, Maine — A threatening letter sent to the home of Republican Sen. Susan Collins that claimed to contain deadly ricin specifically mentioned her vote to confirm Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, her husband said.
Thomas Daffron, who opened the letter Monday, said the writer claimed the letter was tainted with ricin residue.
Collins, who was in Washington at the time, told WABI-TV that she learned of the letter in photos sent from her husband. Daffron and the couple’s Labrador retriever, Pepper, were both quarantined for a time.
They were allowed to stay in the home, joined by Collins, after preliminary tests showed there was no public threat.
Collins and her staff have been subjected to threats over her decision to back Kavanaugh for the Supreme Court.
“I will not live in fear. I will not be intimidated. I’m going to continue to do what I think is right for the people of the state whom I work very hard for, and for our nation,” she said.
Daffron said that the letter was addressed to him but that it contained vitriol directed at his wife. He put the letter in a plastic envelope and dialed 911 after he saw the word “ricin,” he said.
An investigation continues. Bangor police, U.S. Capitol police and the FBI declined to provide any updates, saying they can’t comment on active investigations.

Ethics complaints against Brett Kavanaugh dismissed

WASHINGTON — A panel of judges has dismissed ethics complaints against new U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
The judges say the complaints must be dismissed because they were filed under a federal law that does not apply to Supreme Court justices. That’s the outcome many ethics experts predicted once Kavanaugh took his Supreme Court seat.
The complaints deal with statements Kavanaugh made during his confirmation hearings. They were filed originally with Kavanaugh’s old court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
Chief Justice John Roberts took no action on them while Kavanaugh’s nomination was pending, then transferred them to federal judges in Colorado and neighbouring states. Roberts received the first three of 15 eventual complaints on Sept. 20, a week before Kavanaugh’s testimony angrily denying sexual assault allegations.

I found her credibility to be spot on. I suppose I'm just not that cynical a person.

But what I found more disturbing was Kavanaugh's reaction to the accusation before the committee.

Maybe he was pissed that she would accuse him of something he didn't do 36 years ago?? I don't think I'd be very polite, that's for sure! But that's just me.

I'm sure every one of the 82 ethics investigations into Kavanaugh were about something he didn't do at some time.
