Driver refuses to pull over for cops: 'I drive a Prius'

A police officer in Marysville, Washington found it very difficult pull over a Toyota driver recently, after the driver refused to do so on the grounds “I drive a Prius.”
The officer encountered the white Prius driving down the I-5 through Marysville on Wednesday evening, and after noticing it was wearing expired tags, flashed his cruiser’s lights to pull the vehicle over, reports the Everett Herald.
The driver refused to turn off the road and drove more than a kilometre before leaving the I-5 and stopping at an intersection.
Over the loudspeaker, the officer told the Prius driver to pull off the road, but they refused. Approaching the side window, the officer told them again to pull over, which is when the driver allegedly said they would not stop until they reached the Bank of America parking lot.
After a third attempt to get the driver to pull over immediately, they responded with “I will not, I drive a Prius. I am not pulling over there.”
After a fourth request for the driver to pull over, the officer forced the Prius driver out of the vehicle, which understandably made them unhappy.
“I will own your bank account. I will own your house,” the driver from Olympia, Washington reportedly said. When asked for their name, they allegedly responded with “None of your business.”
The officer arrested the driver, identified as 42-year-old Jamie Petrozzi, for investigation of failing to obey instructions, failing to identify themselves, and for obstruction.
