Desperate to stay in Canada, a failed refugee claimant married a Canadian man who turned her into his sex slave, a Windsor court heard Tuesday.
The man, who can’t be named to protect the identity of his wife, would demand sex three to four times a day, the Nigerian woman testified.
“If I don’t agree, he says he is going to call immigration and have me deported… I just have to do what he wants me to do.”
The man is on trial, charged with three counts of sexual assault, three counts of extortion and one count of assault stemming from incidents alleged to have occurred in the two months following their May 2015 marriage.

In questioning the woman in court Tuesday, defence lawyer Ken Marley suggested the woman got married to avoid deportation and made up the claims of sexual assault and extortion to stay in the country. The woman denied the suggestion, but agreed she went on the online dating site Plenty of Fish to find a husband after her refugee claim and two subsequent appeals were denied.
By virtue of being a Crown witness in the case, the woman got temporary resident status. She testified she expects to now get permanent status in Canada.
The woman said she came to Canada to save her 13-year-old daughter from having her genitals mutilated in a ceremony known as female circumcision. Girls have been known to bleed to death, the woman said.
During the ceremony, the blood of the girl’s mother must be smeared on the temple walls, the woman explained. If she never returns to Nigeria, the ceremony can’t take place.
But a tribunal of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada denied the woman’s claim, saying if she truly had wanted to save her daughter, she would not have left her behind in Nigeria.
The woman came to Canada in January 2013 with a fake passport. She testified that as soon as she landed in Montreal, she immediately told immigration officials her real identity to start a refugee claim.
She was detained for several weeks until she obtained documents from Nigeria to confirm her identity, she said. She was released pending the outcome of her refugee claim.
The woman didn’t want to endure another Montreal winter, so she moved to the Toronto suburb of Etobicoke, and later, Brampton.
That’s where she was living when in 2015, she went on Plenty of Fish looking for “a serious man ready to settle down,” she testified. In May, she met the man from Windsor and had sex with him in his hotel room that night.
They got a marriage licence six days later.
The man helped her move her belongings to Windsor and they married at city hall.
She was 32. He was 46.
The woman described her marriage as “pains.” Her husband would demand oral sex daily in addition to intercourse. If she refused or complained she was too tired, he would threaten to call her immigration lawyer and rescind his sponsorship application.
He wanted to go camping at Algonquin Park and she agreed to go along. For five days, she ate nothing but crackers, she said. Her husband constantly demanded sex there, too. Once after having intercourse in the tent, he wanted her to go for a walk in the forest. There he forced her to have sex on a fallen tree and recorded it on his phone to show his friends, she testified.
She got poison ivy.
When they returned to Windsor, he forced her to come to work with him at a packing house in Leamington and wait in the car for 8½ hours. He wanted her there for oral sex during his breaks, she testified.
Her husband expected her to perform oral sex on him while he was driving. He would threaten to call the police if she refused.
She testified that’s what happened on July 30, 2015, when police were called to her husband’s silver Chevy Cavalier parked on the side of Highway 401.
When officers arrived, she tried to dart into traffic to commit suicide.
OPP officer Rene Tamminga testified Tuesday he was called to the westbound lanes of Highway 401 near County Road 31 that day for what was described as a “mobile domestic.”
The woman was seated in the back seat of the car. Her husband had called police. Tamminga said the woman told him her husband had broken her cellphone.
Tamminga said when he tried to get the woman into his cruiser to have a conversation away from her husband, the woman believed she was about to be arrested.
“She became extremely hysterical.”
The woman pleaded with Tamminga and his partner to shoot her.
She kept trying to get away from them, running into the ditch then toward the road.
“If we had let her, she would have run out into traffic and been killed,” Tamminga told the court.
The officers tackled her and forced her into the cruiser for her own safety.
They called an ambulance and she was held in the Chatham-Kent hospital under the Mental Health Act before being placed in a women’s shelter in Windsor.
The woman, who started her testimony with the help of a Yoruba interpreter, said she preferred to testify in English.
“I liked the way he talked to me,” she said of why she married her husband. “I thought he was a man of God.”
The trial continues before Superior Court Justice Paul Howard.

But wife runs down to the local immigration service and they set her up with a lawyer!!!!!!!



And a LIE-beral family law judge sees things HER WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Judge tells hubby: "you can have your divorce and the settlement will be this- you WILL PAY for her education AND will pay ALL her living expenses while she is in school for the next FOUR YEARS!!!!!


The amount of support she will need will be reduced somewhat AFTER she has graduated and is self supporting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Under traditional law- this marriage HAS NOT BEEN CONSUMATED and thus can BE ANNULLED!!!!!!!!!!!


But this is LIE-beral Canada where LIE-berals are dedicated to destroying white privilege!!!!!!!!!!

In another case a Cdn woman met a black guy in Cuba and he persuaded her he was madly in love with her!!!!!!!!!!

Red Star was advising Cdn tourists going to Cuba for holidays NOT to offer cash tips to Cuban hotel staff- instead- Red Star



suggested offering canned food and medicine to Cuban staff who were trying to support staving relatives on pennies earned at hotels!



So the Cuban guy was DESPERATE to get out and snowed the broad- and ended up married to her in Canada- with her naturally paying ALL the bills!!!!!!!!!


And he completed the disgustingly brief LIE-beral mandated probation period and got his landed immigrant papers- and then dumped the woman and went on WELFARE!!!!!!!

The Nayapara refugee camp in Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh is a world away from Kitchener, Ont., which Saifullah Muhammad now calls home.
Saifullah's family was part of the 1992 exodus of persecuted Rohingya Muslims from Myanmar to Bangladesh. He managed to secure refugee status in Canada in 2016 after spending several years working as an interpreter for the United Nations and international news organizations in Malaysia.
But his family remains in limbo in Bangladesh, among the estimated 700,000 Rohingyas to have taken refuge there after fleeing the bloodshed in Myanmar.
On Sunday, Saifullah let Global News into his apartment as he enjoyed the rare privilege of a Skype call with his family, who gathered in their cramped tent in the Nayapara refugee camp.
He started by asking younger brother Amir how things were going in the refugee camp. The response was stark.
"Our situation is not good. If we went to hospital for medicine, the doctors said [to] us there is no medicine enough," Amir responded in broken English. "There is no water for us enough. There is no water for bathing... for drinking, for everything."
He added: "Our life is very bad."
In addition to Amir, Saifullah also has another younger brother and a younger sister. He worries about their future because they're growing up without an education.
"Because my brothers and sisters are growing up in camps, they have no future, they are not allowed to go out of the camp to study," Saifullah told Global News.
"There's thousands of Rohingya kids who are unable to study in school... we are very much concerned about their security because if these kinds of kids don't get proper education, proper manners, proper knowledge, it is very easy to be exploited."
Then there's the issue of safety.
Bangladesh has urged Myanmar to repatriate hundreds of thousands of Rohingya Muslims who fled the crackdown against their community. But Rohingya are wary of returning, fearful of suffering further atrocities at the hands of the Myanmar military and rival ethnic groups.
Saifullah says his beloved uncle was one of the thousands of Rohingyas to have been slaughtered in Myanmar. A respected village elder, he went out fishing in October 2017 but was accosted by a group of ethnic Rakhine people, who beat him up before throwing him in the water.
"When I was young, my uncle loved me, took care of me, took me everywhere," Saifullah said. "I miss him a lot, still I miss him a lot."
Now resettled in Kitchener, where he lives with his wife and baby daughter, Saifullah is going to college to study journalism, a profession that he hopes will help him become a strong voice for his community.
He's also the media and public relations coordinator of the Canadian Rohingya Development Initiative (CRDI), an NGO that lobbies for the resettlement of Rohingya refugees in Canada and provides community support and resources to Canada's Rohingyas, most of whom are concentrated in southeastern Ontario.
Saifullah says he and the CRDI have met Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland and Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen to discuss the issue, and while the government has made encouraging noises, tangible action has been slow to come.
"Our message to the government is, like me there are so many Rohingya brothers and sisters in Canada who are traumatized for their parents, for their brothers and sisters in Bangladesh and Burma [Myanmar]. They want to bring family here," he said.
Washim Ahmed, a refugee lawyer and spokesperson for CRDI, said he believes the leaders of Canada and Bangladesh are willing to cooperate towards resettling refugees.
"I believe it's the bureaucracy that's delaying the resettlement process of the refugees, so we would request the government to expedite that process," Ahmed said. "It's psychologically very tough for Canadian Rohingya refugees to live here in Canada in peace when their families are suffering and going through horror and trauma in refugee camps."
Ahmed says he's hopeful for progress in the wake of a new United Nations report that accused the Myanmar military of committing genocide. The use of the word "genocide" ostensibly raises pressure on the international community to step in to help those affected.
Myanmar has consistently denied allegations of committing atrocities against Rohingya refugees, saying it has only carried out justifiable actions against armed Rohingya militants.
For Saifullah, the resettlement of Rohingya refugees is about more than the desire of him and other Rohingya in Canada to be reunited with their families.
"We want some Rohingya here in Canada as we can grow our community here," Saifullah said.
"We want to build a community so we can help our suffering community in Burma [Myanmar], in Bangladesh and other refugees living in other countries."
