If a Canadian on welfare needs extra food they get a voucher that comes off their next cheque. How does that relate to food stamps?

if someone holds a job that they can only hold because the government is giving them support - then the business that employs that person is getting a government subsidy.

I understand that welfare is a provincial responsibility and as it's the role of the Feds to be all things to all people, I'd say that it's the Federal gvt getting subsidies.
