OHIO? Really. Besides the fact that OHIO's stats on food stamps have no relevance here in Canada, it's just really sloppy research Hoidie. No Canadian studies, reports, or inquiries to quote? the theory is that families that qualify for food stamps also qualify for every other state and federal income support (welfare)- its is informally called the "Walmart Tax".

You can't have a minimum wage debate without talking about poverty in a larger sense.

Does having people in poverty cost us any money?

Yes, it does. In many ways.

Increase the min wage to $50/hr, see what the ramifications are

There is a real lack of disposable income in Canada lately, being we are the kings of personal debt, and with rising interest rates on credit, and rising gas prices, we are headed for a super duper financial disaster.

The only budgets that balance themselves are dead ones.
