Perhaps your post should be made 16 months after 2020 when the unemployment is running 50% or more.
You version would have them classified as useless eaters. The money saved in wages can be given to them as 'holiday pay' rather than shithawks like you being the only ones to be able to 'take a holiday'. That's all that is being offered. Company's like that intentionally limit the hours that employees work so that they are not on the hook for any benefits. Fast food outlets, retailers would rather fill up their entire schedule with part-timers than to provide things like Health plans. It's the future of most of the work force. Part-timers payed as little as is legally allowed (could be peanuts if minimum wage legislations are struck down) and the employer has zero responsibility to their employees.

The future of Capitalism is Neofeudalism in which almost all of the wealth is held by a tiny but powerful elite and the rest of the population owns nothing, has nothing and are serfs living at the pleasure of the elite. The Middle Class is history and so is democracy.
You think that this is some sort of dystopian fiction? In fact, it is the default form of governance for our species. We are not collaborative by nature. Almost every human government, everywhere in time and place has been a pyramidal Thugocracy.
Think of it this way, you have no job but you have an income and an university education and a long list of available hobbies and vacations include traveling the globe if that is what you want. Are you starting to see the picture or do you only see what happens to people here who are already out of a job?
I've been hearing that argument for 30 years, but it doesn't seem to be holding water. The more scientific we get the more fraudsters come out of the woodwork, necessitating more law enforcement, guards, wardens, parole officers, psychiatrists, probation officers, etc. etc. etc. Probably a lot of good jobs being traded off for useless jobs!
