Maybe, maybe not! We are just more heavily taxed than the U.S. We do escape the stigma of onerous and embarrassing bills that we can't pay.

Actually the US has a lot of services that citizens are forced to pay for, private schools being one of them; and higher health care fees being another. What it boils down to is that one way or the other all citizens pay for services either up front or through taxation. The difference is that when taxes pay for them, most citizens receive the services.

So much for the Affordable Health Care Act. Kicked off his Mom's plan... because that is the law and Obamacare is the law of the land. Could not afford Obamacare... because it is too expensive.
