Can you imagine the International Backlash if the World wakes up to Canadian Law Enforcement running barb wire across the border at Roxham Road! Pushing immigrants back across the ditch.

Oh my!

The root of a lot of the refugee problem is that it is very easy to enter the United States, harder to enter Canada and it's always been that way. It is harder, though, to stay in the United States, once you're there but easier to plead your case to stay in Canada.

We now have the spectre of Nigerians and other entering the United States and IMMEDIATELY heading for Canada's back door. I'll bet that if you told the average American that the illegal migrant threat COMES FROM the United States and is not targeting the United States. Ma and Pa Kettle are pretty sure that the woods just north of their border is full of terrorists, revving their engines, who's sole purpose is to get into the ole USA any way that they can. The weak link is the United States of America, not Trudeau. This has been going on for a long, long time ... a decade or two. It's just suddenly gotten bigger during the Trump regime.

We aren't worried about Americans coming here, many are like CC and can't find us on the map, let alone by crossing some bush or some fields...

It is clear by now that JT never listens to what he says; forgets what he said as soon as the words leave his mouth - thus all the uh, uh, uhs - makes things up on the go with no forethought and oversteps his bounds whenever the mood hits him.

Maybe "Leftrump" would be a good nickname.

Looks like the racist Libs are arriving.

I guess they don't like the idea of being exposed as the racists they are. Sending Liberal Officials to Nigeria telling the people there not to come to Canada? tsk tsk tsk

Asking U.S Officials to strengthen US Immigration Policy so the Trudeau Liberals can maintain their facade.

Canadian officials first discussed changing the pact with U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials last September, shortly after more than 5,700 asylum seekers walked into Canada in August.

“We’d like to be able to get them to agree that we can, if somebody comes across, we just send them back,” the official told Reuters on Friday, adding Canada had raised the issue “at least a dozen” times since.

Now the true colors of the Liberals are showing through.

Think about it. trudOWE actually came up with a good cost savings measure using the same principle they do for our military commitments. If Uncle Same will pick up the tab for boarder security there is more loot in the kitty for jetting around the world to take selfies.

We should just wellcome them to churchill...

I guess you are admitting that Canada has never really been welcoming, it's immigration laws are much more harsher than the U.S. immigration laws, and that Canadian criticism of US immigration policies was pure hypocrisy.

I've been saying this for years.

Canada's Trudeau grilled on efforts to turn back asylum seekers

By Anna Mehler Paperny
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his ministers faced questions in parliament on Tuesday a day after Reuters reported that Canada wants the legal authority to turn back thousands of asylum seekers crossing the border illegally.
A Canadian official familiar with the matter told Reuters that Canada wants to amend a bilateral agreement to allow it to block border-crossing refugee claimants but that the United States is not cooperating.
Under the Safe Third Country Agreement, or STCA, asylum seekers who arrive at a formal Canada-U.S. border crossing going in either direction are turned back and told to apply for asylum in the first country they arrived in.
Canada wants the agreement rewritten to apply to the entire border.
More than 26,000 asylum seekers have crossed illegally into Canada from the United States to file refugee claims in the past 15 months, walking over ditches and on empty roads along the world's longest undefended border.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has said it is reviewing Canada's proposal but has not made a decision.
Asked about the negotiations during parliamentary question period on Tuesday, Trudeau said his government had been in contact with American counterparts "for months" on "many issues relating to our border."
Immigration and Refugee Minister Ahmed Hussen would not say what Canada is asking the U.S. for, telling reporters there were no "formal negotiations" ongoing.
But political opponents contrasted the Liberal government's welcoming rhetoric with officials' efforts to block asylum seekers.
"If we are entering into talks with the Americans ... what kind of message does it send to the Americans if you've got the ministers out saying: 'We're not negotiating?'" said Conservative immigration critic Michelle Rempel, who has called since early 2017 for the authority the government is said to be seeking.
New Democratic Party critic Jenny Kwan slammed Canada's efforts to turn back asylum seekers, calling the idea unfeasible and saying it would force border crossers underground.
"The Liberal government has failed to come up with a plan in the face of (U.S. President Donald) Trump," Kwan said.
Many of the asylum seekers with whom Reuters has spoken said they would have remained in the United States were it not for Trump's policies and rhetoric.
Trudeau faces "a delicate balance" in trying to appear in control of border crossings while maintaining an image of compassion, said Ipsos pollster Darrell Bricker.
In addition to critical public opinion, Trudeau's government has faced complaints from the province of Quebec, where the vast majority of border crossers have arrived.
Bricker said the more that migration was in the news, the more Canadians disapproved of the government's handling of the file.

The United States is the weak link in their own homeland security. The 9/11 hijackers all flew into the US legally. I wonder how many of your countrymen still believe that they snuck over the border from Canada and that illegals are entering the US from Canada, all of the time?

Fantastic article Twin

A Canadian official familiar with the matter told Reuters that Canada wants to amend a bilateral agreement to allow it to block border-crossing refugee claimants but that the United States is not cooperating.

In other words the Trudeau Govt. wants to block migrants along the whole Canadian Border... much like Trump wants.

Under the Safe Third Country Agreement, or STCA, asylum seekers who arrive at a formal Canada-U.S. border crossing going in either direction are turned back and told to apply for asylum in the first country they arrived in.
Canada wants the agreement rewritten to apply to the entire border.

Trudeau wants to renege on the current deal because he really does not like illegal immigration... much like Trump.

Asked about the negotiations during parliamentary question period on Tuesday, Trudeau said his government had been in contact with American counterparts “for months” on “many issues relating to our border.”
Immigration and Refugee Minister Ahmed Hussen would not say what Canada is asking the U.S. for, telling reporters there were no “formal negotiations” ongoing.

Trudeau wants the U.S to solve Canada's immigration problem.

But political opponents contrasted the Liberal government’s welcoming rhetoric with officials’ efforts to block asylum seekers.

BINGO!

The Canadian Govt. wants the US government to stop migrants from coming into Canada while maintaining that Canada is so very welcoming to the world unlike the evil Yanks.

The United States is the weak link in their own homeland security. The 9/11 hijackers all flew into the US legally. I wonder how many of your countrymen still believe that they snuck over the border from Canada and that illegals are entering the US from Canada, all of the time?

That's true. Any attempts to fix that weak link is met by criticism and law suits. Much of that criticism comes from our neighbors to the north. Now the shoe is on the other foot.

You can see it in many of these articles comment sections of Canadians saying "Why should the Americans do anything to stop what is going on. Trudeau invited them all in and Canadians have been smug about US Policy for years."

Now who would have thought that the Trudeau and the Liberal Party is Xenophobic?

This action will alienate the immigrant demographic and JT will lose that vote along with the female vote.

He just continues to implode

This is why the Trudeau Govt. is doing their best to get the U.S Government to halt migrants heading to the Canadian border. They would much rather have the US Border Patrol on Roxham Rd. stopping migrants from crossing into Canada than have the RCMP letting them in.

That's the one! That's the Tweet that started the crisis!

And to think they want U.S Law Enforcement to stop migrants from entering Canada.

Justin invited them and if something needs to be done then he should do it.
