Stocks ended a bad week with a sharp drop today. Investors appear to be skittish about rising interest rates after a long market boom.

For much of the last year, the stock market glided higher, lifted by solid economic growth and corporate profits, low interest rates and few signs of inflation.
That smooth ride might now be ending.

Funny thing is, the US has been interfering in the elections of dozens foreign, sovereign states for at least 60+ years and now that the hens have com home to roost, they are all in a panic. Karma is a bitch, especially when you are one.

STATEMENT BY SASC CHAIRMAN JOHN McCAIN ON PARTISAN ATTACKS ON THE FBI & DOJ
Washington, D.C. *– U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ), Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, released the following statement on partisan attacks on the FBI and Department of Justice:

“In 2016, the Russian government engaged in an elaborate plot to interfere in an American election and undermine our democracy. Russia employed the same tactics it has used to influence elections around the world, from France and Germany to Ukraine, Montenegro, and beyond. Putin’s regime launched cyberattacks and spread disinformation with the goal of sowing chaos and weakening faith in our institutions. And while we have no evidence that these efforts affected the outcome of our election, I fear they succeeded in fueling political discord and dividing us from one another.

“The latest attacks on the FBI and Department of Justice serve no American interests – no party’s, no president’s, only Putin’s. The American people deserve to know all of the facts surrounding Russia’s ongoing efforts to subvert our democracy, which is why Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation must proceed unimpeded. Our nation’s elected officials, including the president, must stop looking at this investigation through the warped lens of politics and manufacturing partisan sideshows. If we continue to undermine our own rule of law, we are doing Putin’s job for him.”

Dan, aka Herbert, eat's piles of his own sh-t.

Yeah, but McCain is a LOOZAH!

LOOZAH!!

Well stated & Spot on. What I can't recall is how many times the US meddling yielded the CHOICE the US wanted.

Funny how Trump's main concern is "collusion" in the meddling as opposed t to the meddling itself.
Don't think he minds the meddling as it swayed the trupians to vote him in............. but he does n't want to be seen in the bad light of colluding with Russia.......as it reflects badly on HIM. (once again HE and HIMSELF is the main focus of his concerns. ........not the fact that another nation tampered with the electoral's minds to favor him. Winning was all that mattered.......regardless f HOW .. He will go to any lengths to protect himself and his image and his money. He is lukewarm at best about the actual running of a country. (except of course the tax cuts....... from which HE benefits too) Everything else is smoke and mirrors.

Dems should be frightened of Trump.

Seems that any SANE ,RATIONAL person IS concerned (afraid ) of Trump.

and rightly so. Authoritarian leaders are of grave concern to anyone that enjoys democracy..... even republic version of it.

Democrats to push for House Intelligence Committee vote Monday on releasing rebuttal to GOP surveillance memo

Rep. Adam B. Schiff, the panel's top Democrat, is expected to offer a motion to release his party's 10-page response to a controversial Republican memo alleging surveillance abuses by the Justice Department.

Democrats have promised to give the document to the department for redactions.

If Republicans join Democrats in supporting its release, President Trump will have five days to block it from happening.

Fair is fair..

Wonder how long it will take to get past this ...and if they are able to actually achieve anything while this is going on..

The upside of this time wasting behavior........is that it brings Trump closer to the end of his reign.

Republicans distance themselves from Trump on GOP memo

In a sign of a growing rift within the House GOP, four members of the Intelligence Committee dismissed the idea pushed by President Trump and other Republicans that the controversial memo criticizing how the FBI handled elements of its Russia probe undermines the inquiry led by Robert Mueller III. Democrats on the panel are expected to push Monday for a vote to release their 10-page rebuttal to the GOP document.

CNN reporting that the motive behind the release of the MEMO.......was to discredit the investigation......(sources heard Trump say this )

really !!!
