Baby born in China with fetuses inside her: Doctors
QMI Agency First posted: Tuesday, February 10, 2015 10:42 AM EST | Updated: Tuesday, February 10, 2015 10:48 AM EST
Doctors in Hong Kong discovered twin fetuses inside the belly of a newborn baby girl, according to research published this month.
The infant, born in mainland China, had two fetuses inside her each with four limbs, a rib cage, intestines, brain tissue, spines and skin, doctors said in a case report in the Hong Kong Medical Journal.
The 10-week-old fetuses inside the baby each had an umbilical cord that connected to a placenta-like organ.
Doctors first discovered the unusual mass in the fetus during an ultrasound of the mother in November 2010, and after the baby was born further tests determined the infant had the rare condition fetus-in-fetu.
The phenomenon has been reported fewer than 200 times in the world. The condition occurs in an estimated one in 500,000 births.
Surgeons successfully removed the fetuses from the baby when she was three weeks old.

Girls are getting pregnant younger and younger nowadays. They only do it to skip to the front of the council housing waiting list and to be showered with benefits from the taxpayer.
