A Canadian diver and his team got a disgusting surprise while taking underwater photos of a sperm whale, the
Daily Mail reports.
Keri Wilk, 30, and three others were engulfed in a giant cloud of feces after the whale began defecating repeatedly.
Wilk said the colour of the Caribbean water went from "crystal clear" to "chocolate milk."
"I couldn't see my hand when I held it in front of my face," he said, describing the ordeal as "poonado."
Whales sometimes defecate before they descend, but this bowel movement was unusual, the Daily Mail reported, spanning over 30 metres in diameter.
Wilk and his team documented the revolting spectacle on camera. As a result, he was "soaked in it from head to toe."
After the team left, he said, the feces washed away and didn't leave a smell.
But after returning to shore, Wilk "did take an extra long shower... just in case."
