OTTAWA — A Quebec woman's quest for justice for a skunk she found dead left a police station with no further help, just a lingering odour.
The woman drove to the Wakefield police station with the dead skunk in her car on Saturday, police said.
She actually had called them two days before, demanding an officer come to her home after the animal was found dead in an old potting soil bag.
"She wanted us to fingerprint the bag, trace the barcode to see who bought it and do an autopsy on the skunk," said MRC des Collines spokesman Const. Martin Fournel.
The woman was told both on the phone and in person that it was not a matter for police.
She left with her dead skunk.
"She was very persistent," said Fournel. "Can you imagine the smell in her car?"

Anyone who has experienced skunk odor close up would understand why the police were reluctant
to do any kind of autopsy on the animal.

What a stupid woman! Everyone knows an autopsy on an animal is called a necropsy. :D

Seriously though, they should have referred her for mental health evaluation.
