A Canadian tourist alleges she was raped by at least one drunk police officer at police headquarters in Paris, according to French media reports.
French media are reporting the 34-year-old woman is from Toronto and is the daughter of a police officer.
The unnamed woman reportedly met some cops at a pub late Tuesday and chatted with them for a while before being invited to visit the iconic headquarters on the River Seine.
She alleges that at the headquarters, the officers, including a captain in an anti-gang unit, sexually assaulted her in an office.
The woman was found near headquarters crying and wanting to file an official complaint.
Four officers were being held on Friday, and an internal police investigation has also been launched. The officers can be held for up to 48 hours without being charged.
AFP reports the officers deny the allegations.
There is reportedly video surveillance at police headquarters, which is being reviewed, AFP reports.
Toronto Police and several other services in the GTA told QMI Agency they were unaware of the overseas sexual assault investigation.
Canada's Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed it is monitoring the case.
"Canadian consular officials are providing assistance to a Canadian citizen in Paris, France, and continue to engage local authorities to gather more information," Foreign Affairs spokesman Beatrice Fenelon said Friday. "To protect the privacy of the individual concerned, further information on this case cannot be released."

QMI AGENCY

One of four Paris police officers accused of raping a Canadian tourist has admitted to having consensual sex with her, French media reports.
Three of the officers were expected to be charged before a judge Saturday morning, Le Figaro reports, while a fourth officer was released without charges.
All of the officers initially denied the allegations.
Four Paris police officers, members of an elite gang unit, were arrested Thursday after a 34-year-old Toronto woman said she met the cops in a pub and was taken to police headquarters on the River Seine Tuesday night and sexually assaulted in an office, according to local media.
Police have taken DNA samples and are looking at surveillance videos from the scene, local media reports.
In her complaint, Le Figaro reports, the woman says she was forced to perform oral sex on one officer, then raped by three others, adding that condoms were used.
Le Figaro reports an investigation in to gang rape and modification of a crime scene has been started.
Initial media reports stated the woman was the daughter of a Toronto police officer, and may have been a cop herself, but none of the GTA police forces had any information about the alleged attack.

Judging by the amount of high profile men in Britain being charged for sexually abusing women and then being found not guilty and the women were found to be making it all up I would be very reluctant to believe anything this woman says.

It's a shocking accusation.

It's sad, the trauma this woman had to endure. I can't imagine the horror she went through.

Typical macho male reply, it's the women fault, she was asking for it, she's making the whole thing up..

Shut Up Blackleaf!!

you would be reluctant to believe any woman about anything in any situation regardless of the evidence...but that's okay

if she is a cop, it would explain her level of trust and the reason she went back to the station with them...if proven true, careers and futures are at stake

For one thing, this happened in France, not Britain. For another, they are hardly high profile men, they are police officers. And lastly, just because the minority of women who say they've been raped are lying about it, doesn't mean that the majority of women that have been raped deserve to be looked at like they are making it up.
