QUEBEC CITY -- A nursing assistant was found guilty of fondling a client's breast as she slept in a rehab centre.
Quebec's order of nurses says Louis Cyr molested the patient on Jan. 22, 2009, in the provincial capital.
He was fired a month later and pleaded guilty under his professional code of conduct in March 2011.
The victim testified that she had checked into rehab to deal with alcoholism following a painful separation.
"When she went to sleep, she noticed light from a pocket flashlight and felt a hand stroking her breast," the order of nurses said in its indictment.
"She says she felt attacked."
The patient told a fellow client about the incident, and was advised to report the assault to authorities.
The indictment says Cyr denied at first that he had touched the woman and then claimed he accidentally touched her breast while trying to retrieve his flashlight from her bed.
The disciplinary board ruled Cyr's defense was not credible, and planned to hand down his punishment in a few weeks.
