A man was stabbed for a single beer early Sunday.
He was standing outside a convenience store at Logan Avenue and Keewatin Street just before 3 a.m.
Another man came up and stole his beer — just one of the case he was carrying home.
"He had a case, but it was just one beer the fellow had grabbed," said police spokesperson Const. Eric Hofley. There's no indication the victim was drinking his single beer in the parking lot.
"They had just purchased the beer earlier and had stopped to pick something else up when this occurred," Hofley said.
"He attempted to steal that beer, and the two got into an altercation, and unfortunately it ended with the accused stabbing the victim."
The victim was left in stable condition after being stabbed to his upper body.
The accused then forced his way into the store, breaking a window in the process.
The store wasn't robbed.
Store staff called police and the accused was arrested on scene.
