We are free from what Scott?
Limitation imposed by the restrictions we impose on ourselves.

Absolutely, but we can never be entirely free. Freedom is naturally restricted by our minds and senses. They impose or expose restrictions either through models or physical reality, respectively. Our biggest challenge is recognizing when we are not free. We are like birds in a cage that know only the cage - even if the door was open we wouldn't see it.

The sensible answer would be so, however, I don't think there are. We can impose restrictions on ourselves in order to have civilization and social order. These restrictions on our freedom then need only extend to the limits imposed by our neighbors freedom. Anything beyond that is someones tyranny. Yet this is a conscious decision and at any time we can decide we don't want social order.

Our consciousness is a process created by our knowledge of our knowing. In other words we can be conscious of something but we can also be conscious were conscious. This seems to be a very human attribute. A dog can be conscious of another dog but it can not be conscious it knows. Thus animals run almost exclusively on instinct and humans less so.

The consciousness of our consciousness is produced by a process not by a thing - which means our consciousness of consciousness isn't real - it does not exist.

The world around us exists because it forces that which does not exist to be limited. This is to say we are maximum freedom but our reality confines us. Without that confinement we could not exist.
