I recently heard a song on the CBC by a First nations singer but I missed the name of the performer and the song.
He was a folk singer and was part of the Yorkville scene in the 60s - but was originally from one of the First Nations communities in NB, perhaps Elsipogtog.
The song itself dated back to 60s and told the story of a young boy who ran away from a residential school and was trying to make his way back to his father (his mother had died). But he died in a snowstorm, I believe.
