Looks like the utility company would be to blame
Nope, in this case the blame lays squarely on the shoulders of the Ontario Liberals. While hydro rates have increased quite a bit, the increase was still manageable over time. It's this idiotic "Global Adjustment Fee" that the Liberals introduced which basically means you get to pay 4 times more for hydro than what you actually use. For example, if your total hydro use comes to $250 for the month, your bill with the GAF included will be $1000. That extra $750 is ALL on the Ontario Liberals, and here's why. Hydroelectric generation accounts for 23% of Ontario's generating capacity. Solar power accounts for less than one half of one percent of Ontario's total capacity, yet the govt contracts solar power to provide about 10% of Ontario's power at a cost that's almost 40 times the market rate for hydro.
And that's the next problem the govt has created. The market rate for hydro is around 2.23 cents/kWh. Yet wind producers are receiving over 12 cents/kWh to produce and solar is receiving 80 cents/kWh to produce. All in a province that has zero need for wind or solar, and I mean ZERO need.

Typical political answer, pass the buck. Trudeau may be right that hydro costs are Wynne's problem but hey, aren't Trudeau and Wynne bosom buddies? Guess there's no honour among thieves after all!
What would either of them care about poverty, unsustainable costs of living or how people are to feed their families? All that doesn't matter as long as women and minorities get better positions and better pay and their rights extended. And let's not forget how important it is to give our borrowed money to foreign nations!
Nosiree Sir! We shouldn't confuse our priorities! Trudeau knows best.
