Since it’s the first few days of World Vegan Month, this Indiegogo campaign couldn’t come at a better time.
Two women with over a decade of experience in the food industry are combining their talents to launch Toronto’s first vegan smoothie truck.
Nude Smoothies, created by Jessie Vestner and Kelty Lewis, could give Torontonians a healthy mobile food option at beaches, parks and music festivals if the duo is able to raise enough funds in the remaining 17 days of the campaign. The money will help cover some of the costs of their truck and curbside permit.
As of press time, they’ve raised only about $4,000 of their $15,000 goal, but that number will likely swell once more people watch their cheeky pitch video, which features glimpses of naked bodies with fruits and vegetables conveniently covering private bits.
Some highlights from Nude’s proposed menu include the spicy mango smoothie (mango, banana, matcha, coconut flakes, cayenne, coconut milk) and the creamsicle (oranges, banana, vanilla, coconut cream).
Vestner and Lewis will be doing pop-up smoothie bars throughout the campaign, including an appearance at clothing retailer Kit and Ace (779 Queen St. W.) on Saturday, where they’ll be handing out samples from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
