WELLAND, Ont. -- Ontario's animal welfare agency is looking for suspects after witnesses watched someone toss a kitten out of a moving car in southern Ontario.
The Ontario Society for Prevention and Cruelty to Animals says the incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in Selkirk, Ont.
Witnesses say they saw a black, four-door sedan slow down along Main St. as someone threw a 12-week old kitten out the window.
The Welland and District branch of the OSPCA says the witnesses immediately helped the white and brown cat before calling their officers who rushed it to a veterinarian.
The agency says the male kitten broke its leg in the fall.
