TORONTO - Talk about Zootopia.
Despite his coming U.S. visit, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will touch down in Toronto Monday morning to attend the naming ceremony of Toronto Zoo’s giant panda cubs. He’ll join Premier Kathleen Wynne and Mayor John Tory for the celebration.
According to Trudeau’s itinerary, the Liberal leader will speak at the zoo when the five-month-old cuties learn their monikers thanks to an online public vote.
The event will be closed to the public, but the twin panda cubs will be unveiled officially to zoo guests on March 12.
Meanwhile, Canada’s “first lady,” Sophie Gregoire-Trudeau, will sit down with Canada AM on Monday morning.
The fledgling international power couple have been in the midst of a big PR campaign: Gregoire graces the cover of Chatelaine this month in tandem with Trudeau’s 60 Minutes interview, which aired Sunday.
