KINGSTON, ONT. - A 27-year-old man is accused of stabbing his girlfriend in the stomach and stuffing her in a cupboard, police say.
Neighbours called police just before 1 p.m. Thursday after hearing a loud argument in a Montreal St. home. When officers arrived they met a 27-year-old man, and after investigating, found his girlfriend forcibly hidden in a cupboard, police said.
“Long-story-short is there was an argument between the two, she was initially assaulted in the head and then afterwards she was stabbed in the abdomen with a folding knife,” police spokesman Steve Koopman said.
The boyfriend is charged with four counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous, forcible confinement, choking, and obstructing police.
Some of the alleged offences occurred between October and December, police said.
