TORONTO - The distraught owner of nine-year-old chihuahua Milo is desperate for the pet’s return. Milo has been missing since the family home was burgled Thursday.

Juanita Macaraeg, 65, came home in the afternoon to find the front door wide open and the kitchen sliding door smashed.

The ground floor of her Brimley Rd.-St. Clair Ave. E. home didn’t appear touched. The second floor bedrooms were “ransacked,” she told the Sun Friday.

But her first thought was of Milo, the black and white chihuahua she adopted three years ago, who is used to sleeping beside her.

It is unknown if the people who broke into her home have her dog, or if he managed to get out during the burglary.

“I am concentrating on finding Milo,” Macaraeg said.

She and her daughter – who has a similar chihuahua – stayed up till 3:30 a.m. scouring the surrounding area for any sign of Milo.

“If these people who broke into my house let him loose, or they might have him, please just give him back to me,” she pleaded.

So far, she has noted that two laptops, an iPad, an external hard drive, and some foreign currency have gone missing as well.

Throughout Friday morning, coworkers and friends helped her scan the neighbourhood and put up posters for the missing dog.

Toronto Police’s 43 Division is also investigating. Anyone who sees the dog can call police at 416-808-4300.
