The body of a five-year-old boy who went missing on Boxing Day in the southern Ontario town of New Hamburg has been recovered, police say.
Authorities believe Robbie Reiner was playing near the Nith River when he fell through the ice. The search was suspended after several days due to severe winter weather.
Two search volunteers found his body in the river near the hamlet of Haysville, about 5 km from New Hamburg, on Tuesday.
Police said a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
New Hamburg is located 139 km west of Toronto.
