An innocent bicycle ride almost turned deadly for an eager nine-year-old when the garage door of his family’s home snagged his hood, hoisted him into the air and nearly choked the life out of him. Halton Regional Police say the boy remains in critical condition following Monday’s terrifying ordeal on Pine Glen Rd., near Dundas St. W. and Third Line. “It’s just a really unfortunate, freak accident,” Sgt. Chantal Corner said Tuesday. “It’s one of those things that make us all go home and hug our kids a little tighter.” The sight of the boy’s body dangling from the garage door will forever haunt neighbour Nadia Khan.
